  1. The last time I was discharged from the ER, while in a standard bed, as the nurse was dropping the side rails she says, "Here, I'll let you out of your adult crib." My GF and I shot each other a knowing smile, but I just wasn't quick enough to toss in a diaper joke.
  2. Are there any TV shows or movies that regularly discuss the toileting habits of non-incontinent main characters? Outside of poop humor, of course...
  3. I thought Bitcoin mining was to the point where you paid more for the electricity to run your rig than you got back.
  4. Oh, I felt terrible for my garbage men this winter. Living in Chicago, every street has an alley where garbage is picked up, so our cans can sit out there all the time. I keep my used diapers in a small trash can in my back yard, and transfer the bag to the main cans about every week. But when the winter got bad, it may have been about 3 weeks of (frozen) diapers. Well, the small bag broke from the weight when I was moving it, and diapers dumped everywhere into the big can. Then the big snowfall came. I didn't think about it at the time, but the snow froze the garbage cans in place, and since the arm on the truck couldn't lift them up, my guys opened the cans and manually pulled out our trash bags one by one. I was horrifically embarrased when I saw a layer of used diapers at the bottom of the can with nothing covering them. Of course they had to have seen them. I shoveled out the alley and the week following, everything was back to normal. I half expect this to be taped to my lids next week... Also, Hi and Lois is still in print?
  5. Welcome! I'm in the far north side of the city. The Illinois section here isn't too active, but there's a huge munch in the city once a month. Seems that crowd is more Fetlife based.
  6. The Seni Super Plus is good. I mean, really good. I haven't had any stretching, sagging, weeping, stinking, or clumping with them, and that's after a lot of activity. Elastic waistbands, leg gathers, leak guards, and a really high quality cover. The only downside for me is that the legs are cut pretty small, so while my waist fits a Regular perfectly, its very tight on my thighs, and a Large is just huge. This brand has almost converted my tastes to cloth-covered.
  7. I just reordered 2 cases from NS, and to my surprise, shipping was free. Maybe its a special, or maybe its because I live 20 miles from the warehouse (hooray free next day shipping, eh?), but an already great thing is now even better.
  8. NorthShore has a pretty aggressive AdWords campaign. I bet someone just googled 'adult diapers' and their ads popped up.
  9. I've found the that the Northshores are 2nd only to Moli for wicking, and will wick all the way to the back waistband. They're also significantly more absorbent than Molis. Maybe they just aren't cut right for your body type if they leaked early on you.
  10. The 96oz on the 24/7s is from a test by Gary using water (not urine, they absorb differently), and isn't an industry standardized test or a claim from a manufacturer. Since his test gets 46 oz out of a Moli Super Plus, and the NorthShore is waaaay more absorbent than a Super Plus, its just a difference in measurements. Since he doesn't sell NorthShores, I doubt he'll put one through an equivalent test for the relative comparison.
  11. It always cracks me up when conservatives, who genuinely believe that the government is completely incompetent, completely trust the government to administer corporal punishment.
  12. You put money into a flex account through payroll deductions at work, and it's pre-tax money. You can then buy qualified medical items with the account. So, if you buy $100 of diapers, if you pay through the flex account, it really only costs you $70 (more or less, depending on your tax rate). Your company has to offer FSA as a benefit, and you can lose the money if you put more away than you really spend. But, co-pays are qualified expenses.
  13. You do realize the difference here, yes? Muslim prayer time is people who are Muslim gather together and pray privately. Banned Christian prayer usually falls along the lines of prayers read over a PA, or a class-led prayer at the beginning of an hour. When I was in high school, the Christians gathered at one spot, prayed together, and everything was fine. So, private prayer=okay, regardless of denomination, public school prayer=not okay, because of church/state, etc. As to the OP, he should have been able to register his disgust and be treated fairly for his opinion, but that's about it. Telling people to follow your religious beliefs because you're in the room is ludicrous.
  14. You don't have to say a thing. Typically, they let you settle in your room on arrival, then you change into your bedclothes (privately), then you get wired up. The place I went to asked that you wear a t-shirt and gym shorts for sleeping. There were a couple of wires that were routed down the legs, but you do that part. I wasn't diapered for mine, but in retrospect, they barely would have noticed anyway. If anything, you make it easier on their part since you won't have to be unhooked in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.
  15. Well, the scanner monitor knows you're wearing a wet diaper. You're probably fine with that, but others might not be. I went through the other day after wearing a diaper bag backpack, so my back was sweaty. They patted down my back afterwards, so the machines do sense wetness. If you're going for the full exposure, opt out of the scanner and get a pat down. I did that back during the backscatter xray days. Those were some awkward inspections.
  16. The guy from Northshore posted on adisc that this is not an intro price.
  17. I'm pretty sure that was fake.
  18. The Northshores are like the best combination of Molicares and Abenas.
  19. I'm in the same boat sizewise. The mediums were fine on the waist and uncomfortably tight in the thighs. Apparently if you call them or click on the chat on their site, you can request samples.
  20. I shot Gary an email awhile back, suggesting that if the Maxis go cloth-backed anyway, that he re-stock with Ultimas instead. May as well go for the granddaddy to make the best of a bad situation. He said they were considering it, but that they carried the Maxi BECAUSE it was plastic. We'll see how long he carries Tenas after the switch.
  21. Maybe this has been covered in the pinned Goodnites thread, but I wanted to make a separate post for people who might not regularly check there. The Tru-Fit pads make incredible stuffers. I didn't realize at first that the underwear of the Tru-Fits was the waterproof part, so the pads don't have any backing. They swell up so much, it's like having a size 7 or 8 Huggies Overnite that you don't have to rip the elastic off the legs and slash the backing on. I haven't given it a super demanding test yet, but honestly I'm a bit concerned that they get so thick, they'll overflow over the leak guards in a Dry 24/7. Definitely give 'em a shot.
