I have bladder issues. My wife willingly changes me on average 25-30 times a month. I started having bladder issues 10 years ago due to a medical mishap. Prior to that, I was a DL. adjusting to having bladder accidents and wearing 24/7 for me was fairly easy compared to most who have to suddenly adapt due to a medical need. She is good about changing me, despite not loving my need for diapers.

No, my flow rate is fine and I mostly empty. I wear both the foley and always wear a diaper over it to support things and protect from occasional leakage by the catheter. I don’t wear regular underwear anymore because I leak, not huge amounts but small amounts over the course of the day.
-
When I’m without the foley, I can hold it for a period of time, but usually leak for 15-20 minutes after using the bathroom. I became a foley user after extreme urinary frequency and all the OAB meds weren’t working. The Urology office recommended I go to the ER and get a foley inserted. I slept through the night for the first time in weeks. I’ve been a foley user ever since.

I’m a 10 year foley cath user. My bladder is trashed. my body doesn’t tolerate anything but 100% silicone foleys. Latex foleys cause my bladder to bleed. I usually have my foleys in for a week at a time. I usually have a day without it and then it is changed after a day without it. I can pee without it but in extremely uncomfortable. My recommendation is Bard 100% silicone “Lubri-Sil” I use 16,18, and occasionally 20F. I’ve been using mostly 16’s because that’s what I’ve been able to get from my medical supplier.

I’ve been following this for a couple weeks. I’m very interested to see how you make out. I’m an interstitial cystitis and OAB patient and I have to live with a foley cath to manage my condition. Of course, I occasionally have leaks around the foley so I’m in diapers 24/7 as well. I don’t mind the diapers or the foleys. I had a 22F once, it was huge and felt like a garden hose when the nurse put it in. Normally I live with a 16.

Just touching base here as it’s been quiet as of late. I’m still here and still leaky.

8 year foley user here. I routinely wear a 16 or an 18 and don’t notice the difference. My nurse has used a 20 on two recent occasions due to some blockage issues with the smaller foleys. I do have a 22 in my supply bin but she hasn’t needed to insert that right now. The 20 wasn’t uncomfortable for me, but the stat lock needed to be modified to fit the larger catheter.

I’m glad it went well. Next step is to wear around her. And then if she’s comfortable with that maybe she will change you.

Should I tell my girlfriend about my abdl side?
SIDincontinent replied to LoneABDL's question in Questions And Answers
Tell her before she moves in!! I told my girlfriend, well actually I went to sleep with a diaper on and she came home late at night and found me sleeping in a tena super. She wasn’t pleased and it took a long time for her to come to terms with it. Now I have had bladder issues since Jan/Feb 2014 and have been 24/7 ever since. I was just a DL at that time, though. -
I’m also in southern Maine I am incontinent and was a DL prior to the bladder issues. I’m in the York/Kittery/Portsmouth, NH area.

I have interstitial cystitis and overactive bladder. I tried all the medications and nothing seemed to work. I became very uncomfortable over a period of weeks not sleeping and spending a lot of time in the bathroom many times a day (upwards of 20-30 times a day). The doctors didn’t know what to do to help me and told me to go to the ER and have a foley inserted. That night I slept through the night for the first time in weeks, at my emergency urology consult a couple days later, I was given a prescription for Foley catheters and related supplies. That was 3 1/2 years ago. I have been a chronic Foley catheter user since that time. I am miserable the whole time it is out, I can live my life normally and do everything I used to do before my bladder became messed up with a foley in. Since I coccasionally have bladder spasms and pee around the foley and occasional discharge from my penis I wear a diaper over it 24/7

I started with maxi pads too.......then graduated to diapers when I was 22 or 23. Whenever my wife has her periods (which have become fairly heavy over the years) she wears always pads. I like the always pads best, when she's wearing a maxi pad, I can't keep my hands off her. She totally doesn't get it and rarely indulges my pad fetish. I rarely wear pads, since becoming incontinent 3 1/2 years ago.
