  1. Back when I was sent to summer sports camp they only had waterproof mattresses in the BW cabin. The rest had fairly thin cloth covered roll up mattresses that were put on top of wood slat cot sized beds. And we all slept in sleeping bags. They dried the wet sleeping bags over a heavy nylon line behind the row of cabins and the mattresses were leaned against an outbuilding to dry. After I had an accident in my last year at sports camp when I was assigned to a regular cabin they at least gave me a spare heavily stained but dry mattress to use but I had to put up with the damp sleeping bag that didnt fully dry in a single day. Your right though that there are more bedwetters than meets the eye. In my three years at camp there were BW accidents in the regular cabins every year. Word about these accidents spread quickly.
  2. Thats a pretty poor attitude to take these days when there are so many protection options. I also wonder whether its more likely these days that a hotel could charge you for damages like they can do if you damage other things in the room? There was a case in the news a couple years ago where a guy was sued for the cost of replacing a mattress after he was drinking and wet the bed. He lost in court and had to pay hundreds of dollars. It wasn't a hotel and I think he was just visiting somebody. I think I would have just paid the amount owing instead of going to court. I remember getting my first apartment after I finished high school and got a job. The place was furnished and I ruined the mattress in about six months from bedwetting. The landlady replaced it with a used mattress and bought a plastic mattress cover. I often felt guilty in later years because it probably should have been my cost to replace it.
  3. Its my understanding that it was common on my fathers side of the family. I had cousins on that side of the family who wet the bed well beyond the usual age. And in my family it was four out of seven who did too including all three boys.
  4. I dont always ware nighttime diapers because there expensive. My last package ran out about a week ago and Ive been wetting sometimes without a diaper. I woke up soaked at about 5 this morning and was able to go back to sleep on the other side of the bed after I took off my peed pjs. Im kind of used to it I guess.
  5. I hardly ever use a full diaper when I'm out but I do use pullups a lot. When I know I will be out for awhile I usually try to find a stall where I can pull down my pants and pullup andcan take a leak. But sometimes stalls aren't available because there in use or are dirty so I have tried to pull the front of the diaper down enough to pull out and use a urinal. When I was doing this at a bar one evening a young man stood at the urinal beside me and looked over. "You waring a diaper?" he asked kind of puzzled. "Yes, for medical reasons - just in case" I said. He was cool about it but went back and told the group he was with because they all looked over at me.
  6. Those were the days right? My parents were also advised to use various methods of punishment for it which now is considered not appropriate. As my father apologized many years later for what we were put through saying that they did they best they could.
  7. I think it really varies based on insurance programs and carriers. I get a flat rate but not specific coverage.
  8. I think your right that you can find someone to indulge you if you step out of your comfort zone but you still have to be very careful. Not every scene is for everybody and ground rules are important. I did some bdsm role playing when I was in my 20s and 30s. I kind of got out of it when I got older. It can be very stimulating if your confident in the person your with. I was a bottom and I had a few tops with a couple of them being for fairly long periods of time.
  9. Never, ever? Do you remember when was the last time you did wet the bed growing up?
  10. I was pee shy growing up and that led to a few embarassing accidents for sure. But I got over it in high school when we had to shower after PE class. I think my shyness was more about modesty and the hangups I had about body image growing up than anything else. Once I realized that I was at least physically average or better 'down there' a lot of that went away. Since then I have no problem using urinals or fear of somebody else watching me go. The sexually excited part when wearing I think gets less with age. Because I have urge IC Im usually too preoccupied with bladder control to worry about anything else. I like to at least find a place where I think its safe to empty my bladder so it doesnt leak especially if Im wearing pullups. I am more inclined to get excited after I wet than before.
  11. A good example of "better safe than sorry" I think. Ive read that those who are overage bedwetters are more likely to later have accidents after they stop nightly wetting. I remember having my first accident after I was thought to be "dry" and I was really upset about it. Oddly my mother was very humane about it. I expected to be scolded but instead she said "Your doing well and have to expect setbacks." I think mothers often know. My father was less patient. Becoming reliably dry in my sleep was a struggle right into my 20s.
  12. My mother never went as far as to remove the rubber sheet. I guess she figured out that the cost of replacing mattresses was too high for that. Purposeful wetting was my way of keeping the rubber sheet for so long. After I stopped using it I often worried about waking up soaked in the morning even when I got my own place. I still worry about it if Im sleeping someplace unfamiliar especially without mattress protection. Oddly one of my biggest fears of overnight airplane flights was having an accident. Now I dont travel anymore for financial and medical reasons but I used to hate overnight flights for that reason even when I used protection.
  13. I used to deliberately wet my pants too and then hide them until they dried. And I also wet my bed deliberately when my accidents started to decrease a lot in puberty. My older brother was a chronic bedwetter until much later and it was like I was in a competing with him for attention. I was able to keep the rubber sheet on my bed until I was 17.
  14. I grew up with a rubber sheet on my bed and had it until I was 17. My mom always put an absorbing pad on top of it but under the main bed sheet. That pretty much stopped the sweating. When we visited my grandmothers place in the summer though she just used a full mattrass size rubber sheet under the regular sheet and bedwetting caused serious puddling I now use fitted plastic sheets but always use an absorbing pad too.
  15. My father wouldnt allow diapers after a certain age. He apparently thought it encouraged bedwetting by making it more comfortable. My mom was restricted by time limitations. She had seven kids to deal with and four were overaged bedwetters so she dealth with it however she could. She worked parttime so sometimes the laundry got washed and sometimes on busy days it just went out on the line to dry. When we got old enough she showed us how to use the washer and dryer. I had to do my own laundry from about 13 onwards. Back when I was young I think it was unusual for overaged bedwetters to use diapers. I dont remember any of the disposable products being around. So bedwetters including me mostly peed their pjs and sheets and sleeping bags when I was at summer camp. Today is a lot different story which is good for those who have to deal with the issue.
  16. Okay. So they are determined automatically and you cant change them back?
  17. At that age its not something we talked about among our friends. I once disclosed to a friend that I still wet the bed and he seemed to treat me differently after that. But back then because not as many people had their own washers and dryers laundry was often hung out on clotheslines. We used to get some idea from that especially if sheets were hung out to dry without being washed. My mother sometimes did that to save time although she'd rinse the pjs in the sink before hanging them on the line.to dry. But the pjs along with the wet sheets on the line was like a big sign saying "bedwetter lives here." I was lucky because i grew up in a big family so I wasnt the only suspect in the house.
  18. I'm just wondering if the administrators assign a "rank" to members and how its determined. I started out ranked as a "Bedwetter" which I beleive was my choice but now my rank is "Diaper Pro" although I cant remember ever choosing this. My own self described identity is closer to being a bedwetter than a diaper pro but I'm not sure if or how I can change my rank on here.
  19. By the time your in your late 50s or older nobody really cares. Wetting products are now so commonplace that nobody bats an eyelash when I buy supplies. I sometimes joke with friends when Im out drinking that I won't have another drink because it'll make me pee the bed. They just laugh. One recently responded by asking "And will that be different from any other night?" I had another beer.
  20. I hardly ever wake up during the night. One thing about flannel sheets is that they absorb more than linen sheets. But having a good absorbing pad is a big help. If you don't use one on top of a rubber sheet or plastic or vinyl mattress cover you end up waking up in a lake of pee. I remember visiting my grandmothers when we were growing up and my older bedwetter brother and I had to sleep in the same bed with a mattress cover but no absorbing pad. We sloshed around when we woke up in the morning. Its difficult to be comfortable like that.
  21. I think theres a lot of discrimination even in the LGBT community about minorities like trans people. I suspect theres a kind of white picket fence view by corporate sponsors who are really catering to certain components in the community. I know a couple gay guys who are quite well off financially. They travel a lot and own their own places. They have lots of disposible income so they and people like them are a big target audience for corporations. Money talks I guess.
  22. Probably because it interests me so much I watch for these accidents and listen for stories others share about them. I remember dating a girl when I was in my early 20s who told me about her pants wetting accidents in school. It was one of those "most embarassing things that happened when you were young" conversations. I was fascinated and aroused. When we were going at it later I couldnt get it out of my mind which meant that we had a pretty quick session. It was way more satisfying for me than for her I guess.
  23. My first thought when reading this topic is to just wait til you get older and especially if you also have or get a medical condition and having accidents might not be so unusual. Loss of bladder control often comes with the territory even if you dont try for that outcome. If I drink liquids especially coffee or beer my ability to make it to the toilet is very limited. When I got to go, I got to go. That doesnt bother me much in certain situations but out in public it can be a nuisance. I take a med for urge IC now and it reduces the urgency feeling a lot but not completely. I might have thought urge IC was good thing 20 years ago but Im not so sure now. Usually you can wet your bed without too much inconvenience except laundry but wetting your pants is more difficult to manage.
  24. I grew up in a big family with seven kids and for us the spanking room was the laundry room just off the kitchen and inside the back door. There was a special "spanking" chair against one wall. We all knew when we were to wait there what that meant. It wasnt used for anything else that I can remember. Spanking was done otk by hand when we were young and later with the back of the hairbrush. Our father took over discipline for the boys when we were in our teens and that was usually with the belt in his workshop. We had to do something really bad to get it from him though.
  25. Yes, how would they know in most cases? I dont actually mind dental work that much. Ive had wisdom teeth removed and had a couple root canals and crowns done. Not my favorite thing but you get through it. I read a while back about a tatoo artist who had a customer wet himself because of the pain. That would be embarassing. I remember once having a medical scan where the young technician put some kind of drug into me by IV and then said I would feel like I was hot and would then fell like I had to pee really bad. "But dont go" he told me. I wished I wore at least a pullup for that. By the time I rushed to the bathroom my underpants were wet. I was told not to worry because that was normal.
