  2. You and I might desire to hold someone to a rational standard, but they themselves are under no obligation to. In fact, the only standard they probably consider valid is the one given by their church. There are not many people out there that could accept a direct challenge on their religious views, myself included. It is viewed as a personal attack rather than processed logically. For example, people used to try to tell me about mormonism all the time. They'd make offhand remarks, or even try to actively convince me of my error. They only succeeded in making me defensive and made me want to prove them wrong. I never considered that they might have truth to their arguments. I was only able to realize the truth myself and via non-biased information sources, prompted by no one but myself. I've wondered whether there was something I could have said to my past self to convince myself I was in error. I have come to the conclusion that the answer is no. I would have viewed my future self as a fallen apostate and not taken him seriously. More than that I would have held contempt for him.
  3. I do the same except for the soaker. It leaks out the PUL leg holes even before the front is soaked. Tried double diapering, but it's not comfortable because it restricts the blood circulation to my legs. These are baby pants prefolds.
  4. I haven't found a way to comfortably keep the bed dry at night yet. I love the feeling of cloth, but they are tight (need to try a larger size) and also I often leak with cloth, even on the first wetting. Disposables I leak right away too. Pretty sure the underlying problem is that I'm a flooder. I can handle that when awake, but when I'm half asleep I just let loose.
  5. I left ADISC during the era where they had kids on the site. That didn't sit well with me. I also didn't like how they forced profiles and tried to figure out who you were IRL. Creepy. I also struggled because I wanted to talk about fetish stuff, and that was against the rules. I found DD because of the diaper review list. Little did I know it was a disaster, but hey it got me here
  6. Anyone gone through security in a cloth diaper and metal pins? Or would the pins be considered a weapon?
  7. Most artists have a particular style. Pay special attention to their commissioned pieces and see if they look good to you (they don't always look as good as their personal works, because the inspiration might not be there). Depending on what you want drawn, furaffinity also has quite a few artists.
  8. Just a guess, but since the bars appear to be round, he probably drilled holes in the top and bottom rails for the bars to slip into. Nice job on the crib, it looks great!
  9. You must appease the site diaper gods yearly by filling all your diapers, then buying more from the banner ads.
  10. I like books AND websites!
  11. Plastic keys are for chewing on and baby's playthings, right devil?
  12. Do you smell a lingering odor or just someone else? There's another possibility: you don't actually smell.
  13. I didn't really get into this stuff heavily until the past few years and I'm 36, so we get all ages here. Can't go by that. There are ways you can get money when young.. inheritances, etc. This is a fetish site, we don't necessarily want to share our entire life history, but I think most people on here are fairly honest. Not saying I blindly believe everything on DD, but if I don't, then I can just move on to another thread, because posting bumps it to the top.
  14. Why are they watching what you buy? What prompted that? I feel like we might not have the entire story here. Did something happen where they felt like they had to watch what you bought to protect you or help you?
  15. I really hated the smell, but over time I've grown to love it. I still don't mess often, but when I do it's a special treat.
  16. I wasn't attempting to bash religion, even if I don't believe in it anymore. It just seemed to me that a false dichotomy was being set up, something along the lines of "you must either accept science or religion". If someone is religious, they can still accept scientific findings, if someone isn't, they can still reject scientific findings. And it's not all or nothing, either. A person can accept parts of a religion or parts of science, or parts of several religions, whatever they choose. To someone else, what they choose might not seem to make sense at all, or might seem harmful. That's where the judging comes in From my admittedly narrow view, it seemed like mormons accepted science just fine, but if there was a conflict between the church and science, then the church won. For some, that was no big deal. For me, it had to make sense, so it had to be justified somehow. It turns out that the human brain is really good at figuring out how to do that, too. So as far as being logical, I know I fall way short. Personally, I don't fall into the camp of "scientists claim something, so I must believe them". That just feels like another religion to me. For example, the whole global warming thing seemed politically motivated, with shaming involved, so that turned me off bigtime. Doesn't mean I've closed my mind to the possibility, but I'm not rushing out and buying a Prius either.
  17. I hadn't seen this mentioned before, which is pretty weird, didn't anyone else notice this? Anyways, thanks very much for the info and pics! I think I'll hold off on ordering any of these until this issue is fixed.
  18. Got some and it does smell good, but it's strong and I know if I wore it to work it would be identified. I heard Lady Speed Stick smells good too, I want to check that out.
  19. Nobody has to believe anything and they are free to change their beliefs or non-beliefs at any time. What someone believes in doesn't have to make logical sense. However, people cannot escape judgment (by other people) for the consequences of what they believe in, or when they try to force others to worship in their way.
  20. There is the very definite possibility that he did not notice. Early on in my brony days I had not fully accepted myself and was very worried that anyone would find out about my ponies, so I'd hide them whenever anyone came over. My mom was visiting from out of state (I knew that), but still dropped by unexpectedly. She of course wanted a tour of the place. I thought for sure she had seen my pony colection above the computer and later asked her about it. She hadn't even noticed, and further she didn't care at all. People see what they expect to see. In my case she saw a bedroom and that's all that registered.
  21. Happy Holidays is so PC it drives me crazy. Just say Merry Christmas and be done with it. And, this is coming from an atheist.
  22. Been thinking of buying and using a powder scent deodorant but haven't yet worked up the nerve.
