  1. I think the UK was independent and following the vote, still is independent. I do know the vote occurred the way it occurred probably because of the greatest migration in human history, which puts a significant strain on social services especially in the EU. On the other hand, if you live in the conflict zones in Africa and the Middle East, you really just have to be anywhere else. For that reason, the US should have stepped up and followed in Canada's footsteps to take in the migrants. It's a shame we did not do more, because as we have just seen, this can lead to a destabilization of Europe if the burden is not shared.
  2. I don't understand why people on this thread have called it a vote for independence. That makes no sense. Nothing is going to change for UK other than higher trading costs and a weaker pound. Regulations will have to remain the same in order to trade with the EU and the money that is sent to the EU will be replaced with trade tariffs. The UK's independence will not change.
  3. With 15% reporting, it is 51% remain and 49% leave. It's going to be close. I sure hope the remain vote remains ahead.
  4. This is just political banter with Immigration reform being used as a wedge issue. Nobody is going to pretend we do not need immigration reform, but this discussion was started because of a Donald Trump quote, which makes the whole discussion irrelevant.
  5. How many posts were there in this thread where they said that they were not quite sure what the problem was? Well, why not let the CDC investigate to find out the cause for the rise in gun violence and deaths in this country. The only problem is the federal government is preventing that investigation from occurring. You can all call your Congress woman/man and tell them to let the investigation occur. I think we can all agree that this is a much better approach than banning bullets or looking at ourselves in a mirror.
  6. My apologies Repaid1. Perhaps a discussion about assault rifles should be started in a new topic (I don't watch the news). My intention was to strike up a conversation about what can be done to prevent these tragedies in the future.
  7. Fully automatic is not that important, not next to the ability of the gun to fire a projectile at greater velocities. Anyway, the AR-15 can be upgraded to be fully automatic if you by the feeder accessory. My point has always been that it is the same design as the M16, which is hardly ever used in fully automatic mode anyway.
  8. He used a Sig Sauer MCX, which is similar to the AR-15. Both are classified as assault rifles. Please, don't argue with me that it is not the same weapon used by the military, because it is. There is no reduction in bullet momentum. It is the same weapon. I don't care if you call it a sporting rifle, because it can be an assault rifle too.
  9. I think there are 2 takeaways from this tradegy. The first is we are going to have to have a discussion about civilian vs. military weapons. What weapons should civilians be allowed to carry? The AR-15 is a weapon designed for war. It is a high powered assualt rifle designed to shred flesh on impact for maximum killing potential. I personally believe assault weapons should not be allowed in civilian hands, but that's my thought. The second takeaway is the intelligence community is really going to have to shape up in a dramatic way. It has been proven that when you cast the net so wide such as with mass surveillance, you understand nothing. The FBI was investigating the shooter before the incident occurred, but he was was still able to purchase weapons right under their nose. I think the problem is they just had too much data to sift through to track him. I think if they shy away from mass surveillance and move towards a targeted surveillance approach, not only will it be better for them in getting the information they need, but it will be better for all of us, because it will preserve our privacy. I don't think the motives of the shooter will be all that illuminating. People join ISIS for random reasons and mass shootings are usually committed by socially marginalized people with a lack of morality.
  10. Nah, those cars are poorly constructed. Just go with a Toyota or a Honda. As for suspension and steering, replacing that many components would be expensive for just the parts, but if you got air tools, the labor is pretty quick. I would say if all those parts have to replaced, it is time for a new car.
  11. Well, I think I can shed some light on that craziness. Since it is a Holiday where many places are not open (including childcare), it is probably one of the few weekends out of the summer where you can get sufficient vacation time to do something. Well, actually I was forced to take the time off. Now, how I spend my day off from my work is my business. If I want to have a party, then there is nothing wrong with that. I understand what Memorial day is about, but that was mostly irrelevant for my vacation plans. Sorry you're upset about this.
  12. That benefit has not been established as that is outside the scope of the article. Publishing science is in the details and it has to be taken very literally. If you stretch the truth even a little, then you can become wrong. In their future research, they will investigate whether or not they can use improved NREM SWA to effect memory. Unfortunately for you, in order for you to be right or wrong, they would have to investigate whether or not having to get up during the night to pee can do the things they mention in the article. As I said before, getting up to pee doesn't have to disturb NREM, which would mean what you are implying is wrong, but there can be many reasons why the assertion is wrong. There is a 1% chance that you are right, but that is nature of research.
  13. Thankfully they did do actual experimentation in this study. It was not p-hacked. Here is a link to the original article. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4482795/ Now, Elfy is right about night time diapers. There is no evidence that they will help you prevent Alzheimer's disease. By your logic, then you should never have kids, because, well, you know, babies cry quite a bit during the night. I think it is important that we recognize that the OP has a hypothesis, not a fact.
  14. I imagine the cloth-like exterior on some diapers can be very useful in some situations. If you are going out into hot or humid weather, they could be much more comfortable than plastic backed. They are also useful under tight clothing.
  15. Coral beliefs? Hmmm... The best advice I can give you is to look locally for people who already know they want to be subs.
  16. I almost forgot to mention. The biggest complaint about side loaders is the seal at the door. Whether it is mold or the door begins to leak, all can be prevented with proper maintenance. By spraying mold killer (not bleach)
  17. Your address is not posted on here, right?
  18. If he losses next Tuesday, he is finished. I have already voted for Bernie,
