  1. If I wet while sleeping on my side and I'm wearing a pullup plastic pant, it leaks out the top and leg of the pant. If I'm wearing a velcro pant or just a disposable, it leaks out the side. If I wet while sleeping on my back, it leaks out the back of the legs.
  2. One of my college girlfriends admitted to me that she wet the bed (and wore a diaper to bed) until she was 16 or 17. She didn't wet the bed when we were sleeping together, but she was very sympathetic about my bedwetting and diapers. It amused her.
  3. Not at all. I'm just a bedwetter, not a day wetter. I only wear a diaper at night. I don't like to diaper in front of her, although it doesn't bother her. My wife has always preferred sex in the morning after showering or in the afternoon, so the diaper isn't an issue. Once in a while, she'll pull down my diaper and we'll have sex. Usually, it's when we get into bed. But sometimes, she will wake me up in the middle of the night. A wet diaper doesn't bother her. After sex, I usually fall asleep with the diaper off or down. That would be a problem if I wet, but I've never wet (other than little spots) after having had sex. The only real problem is that we both generate a lot of fluids. If I just pull the diaper back up, all that stickiness under a diaper is annoying.
  4. My wife, my doctors and my mother-in-law (a nurse) know. My mother made diapers for me when I was in college. She wouldn't be surprised to know I still wet the bed. I keep my diapers and plastic pants in a separate drawer in my closet. I diaper and change discreetly.
  5. I wore a diaper to bed when I was in high school. I wet almost every night until I was 16. By the time I was 17, I was only wetting a few times a month. I stopped wearing a diaper at home and put up with the occasional wet bed. I still wore when I was away from home. I went back into diapers when I went to college. I haven't been incontinent since I was potty trained as a toddler, so I have never worn a diaper during the day.
  6. When I was 5, my mother told my sister (a year older) and me that we had to start diapering ourselves. We had two younger brothers at the time, and my mother was tired of diapering four kids every night. I remember it very clearly!
  7. I was out of diapers when I started school. I still wet a few times a year and wore a diaper when I was away from home. I was back in diapers when I was a teenager and wet every night. I was down to a few times a year and out of diapers when I started college, but then started wetting every night again. I've been in a diaper every night since.
  8. It's not painful, but it is uncomfortable.
  9. I was dry at an early age, but when I was 15 I started wetting again. It was every night for a couple of years, then it tapered off to being a few nights in a row about once a month, then it stopped when I went to college.
  10. I used a diaper service before adequate disposables came along. I was their last adult diaper customer. If you wear cloth diapers, and you can get a diaper service, do it. A commercial diaper service uses much hotter water (usually boiling) than you can get in a residential washer. Not only will the diapers be more sanitary, there will be much less residual soap in the diaper. The service supplied the diapers, plastic pants and a pail. I supplied the pins. The diapers were large square birdseye flats. The drawback was that I had a pail of wet diapers sitting around for a week. The pail had a good seal, so it smell when it was closed. But when I opened it to drop in a wet diaper, it could be overwhelming. Of course, I would have had the same problem if I washed the diapers myself, unless I did them every day.
  11. I take at least two and usually three overnight international flights a month. I use a pad (Abena X-Plus -- as absorbent as an Abena diaper) under stretch pants. I put it on just before getting on the plane and keep it on until I get through customs and immigration. If I need to change on the plane, I carry a spare pad and wipes in a shave bag. It's easy to change the pad -- just pull it off and slip in the dry pad. On flights to Asia or South America, I'll need to change at least once. I usually travel with clients and colleagues. Nobody has ever noticed.
  12. I was dry very young. I had a sports injury when I was 15, and wet the bed a few times a month for a couple of years. I was dry again by the time I started college. After another sports injury, I started wetting very heavily almost every night. The bedwetting eventually tapered off and stopped. About 5 years ago, it started again, right out of the blue. It goes in streaks. I got married while I was wetting after college. It never bothered my wife. When we were dating and when we were first married, I wore a cloth diaper, which was a irritating to get out of and into in bed. I use Abena x-plus super pads now, which are much more convenient.
