  1. Originating in Scoop the Poop, it is also relevant here About a decade ago, the subject of having places for get-togethers in an ABDL setting came up. Using my former membership in GirlTalk To as a template and Rainbow Resorts as the model. I suggested compling a lost of ABDL-friendly resorts if such could be found. I was told to leave that to FetLife. Nlw, FetLife is NOT ABDL-centric and leaving something that pertained to us to be done by a non-ABDL-centric site seemed to me a dereliction of our purpose as well as responding like a torpid caterpillar while someone else ate our lunch Consequently, I created things based on subject matter relevant to us; RUBBER PANTIES 'R' US, Baby Powder Shootout, personal care items and others. I put them in my CV in my About Me. One of this was a l ink to the classic sissy sites over in Bacommentby Bethany's Sissy Links thread Now, I figured that it would be a good idea to have things of general interest in one place. So just recently, I created a "knowledge base" over at Thech Support and put a few links to things of mine that would be of general interest to other members. This kind of thing is called a "knowlege base" and is usually done by site admins. Since that is not the case here, I decided to use crowdsourcing and make it open to anyone to juse and add to with instructions on how to do so. here it is Please participate: It is in your interest to do so

  4. Many sites, such as VLC, feature a "knowledge base"; a collection of information about subject matter of or related to the site as a kind of user guide. This is usually officially kept. However, since this does not seem to be going on here, and since DD is the DPF of the 21st century, it will have to be done in some other way. While not technical support, although that could be included since it will help in the use of the site, much of this is about the subject matter; diapers, the many aspects of our lifestyle and incontinence. This occurred to me as I was looking at my About Me>CV here and saw what I had brought in. Since there is no officially kept knowledge base part of the site, and since what is brought in is brought in by members, then we may need an unofficial one where a person can look for useful things related to the subject matter at DD. The format here is you create a post and put links in to the threads or pages where the knowledge is. This is usually done by the admins but since that does not seem to be in the offing here, the next best thing is crowdsourcing, with contributors being individually responsible for their own material USAGE: Save links that you get here to this thread to your ABDL folder. You can do the same with links you get here so that you need not come back here all the time if those links are to places you will visit often To add to it, create a post to this thread and put your first link(s) like I did, Add other links by simply editing that post. If you do not know how to use the link function (so labelled) then if you are going to leave just the address by Paste-ing it. Leave a label in normal text above the address so people will know what it is for. To understand how this is done, use my next post as a model Please keep it relevant to AB, AK, DL or other related matter. Things of specific interest, like BDSM, Spanking have their own places and you can put them there. Generally, what would go in the "Our Lifestyle" general section (Diaper Lovers, Cloth Diapers and Panties, Baby Talk, Adult Kis, Little Girls' Playhouse, Little Boys; Tree Fort, Mommies and Daddies, Sissy Room and Stinky, Squish & Proud) The others (Little of Faith, Veterans' Barracks) are more targetted and specific so things pertaining to them should be put there. I did put some links to posts that I put in other threads since they would be of interest to persons who would not want to have to hunt for them
  5. Since cloth diapers cannot leak because they are not waterproof, then it must be that the question is about throw-arays, which have their own waterproof barrier. The answer to that question would be yes, by providing a second barrier
  6. I like this that and that this,. But this this and that that? Now let me say this about that; THAT is something else
  7. Get used to it. It goes with the territory. I still have them even though I have lived totally on my own for 45 years
  8. Looking at my Album here, both the Baby Doll and Other Outfits got more looks than the Rubber panties, which is supposed to be the main subject of this club and is as overt as it can get. What is the attraction of the somewhat off-topic?
  9. At $3 a load. It depends what the load size is. For me it is 6 as the panties get cleaned up with me. so 6 into 3.00 or 300 cents comes out to $0.50 apiece. It is well-known that the major cost is up front. For a throw-away there are two other things that add to the cost. 1 waste: defective products that cannot be used and "post-consumer storage" borne by the taxpayer for something that just sits there and can spread disease sonce ordianry landfills are not up to the proper levels of containment for fecal matter also, there is the matter of improper disposal so that animals get at them and spread the filth Back to cloth, the more each is used, the more the cost is amortized down. That $0.50 is FAR less than the cost of an equivalent throw-away. Now, if I used 10 per load, the cost would be $0.30 . I think 8 would be the limit since the BabyDoll is a heavyweight diaper. I do not know what my cost per load is since I use an HE washer and a gas dryer. Being a heavyweight diaper, the BabyDoll would notr be down there with the Attends or Depends or Tena, It might be in there with the Bellissimo or other Bambino or ABU. Just what other cloth diapers cost I do not know However, I do have the advice, albeit 35 years old, from a Home Economics social worker. I do not see a reason to think that the relative costs; costs as percentage of the whole operation, have changed. She was dealing in the baby diaper world
  10. Now, as to the factors: They had to be aligned perfectly, as you said. Did you every see anything done perfectly in this world? ONe of those factors is "infection control". Medical waste require special, highy-performance disposal not really available to most persons Also, this pertained to "washing humdreds of pounds of diapers per day". That only pertains to institutions of considerable size. Have you ever seen medical/institutional throw-aways? I have had a bit of experience with them and eww.. Like most military gear, these are designed to do one thing well and in a supportive system (all you guys who want a full mil-spec AR-15 better acquire the skills of an armorer, otherwise you will have more trouble with it than it is worth. It was made to be adjustable in ways that the end user does not touch so that it can be set to the needs of the specific missions). The institutional disposable is UUUUGLEEEE and cheap, at its best in a supportive "eco-system". This is not available outside the institutional setting. So anything like the Pampers that you wore in the 1970's and '80's will cost an arm and a leg as will a Megamax, which would be the equivalant of a doubled BabyDoll; 16 to 25 hrs between changes. Now, it should be said that the BabyDoll was derived from a diaper that was not a baby doaper, but one made for a bedwetter and would serve between the ages of 5 and 10 and was not just for bedwetting. It was homemade. It was also used on long trips (this was before the Interstate system with its mile-a-minute speeds, when a trip to Boston took two hours) and when you were hosting a group of little girls two or more of who could not hold it realiably for two hours and would keep the bathroom busy all afternoon. "Civilian" use is very different from institutional use. and things have changed since the parameters of instituional use were laid out, especially environmental laws and expectation over the last 30 years. Also, in 1988, I was talking with a Home Ec social worker and she said two things. first, rubber panties should be put over throw-aways and the state should not be subsidizing throw-aways as they were more expensive than reusable and therefore a waste of finite funds. My insurance covers re-usables, which I can just imagine; probably very bare-bones with panties made of grainy material (PUL is relatively expensive) So the economic superiority of re-usable diapers in non-institutional settings is no secret and the institutional model is a specialized beast sold in job lots by the gross of cases either to huge institutions or to consortia of small to medium size institutions with support systems
  11. She waited SIX AND A HALF FREAKING YEARS before taking you to the doctor?!?! Well, I know what her first name was NOT: She was not too swift. THAT is inexcusable
  12. One of the fiew good things Rosalie did while here was provide that analysis, which I have saved and will post here. It would be intuitive that cloth diapers and rubber panties would be less costly over time than replacing the whole awwembly. The major proportion of the cost would be on the front end. The longer you kept the items the more the costs would be amortized. The BabyDoll cost significantly less than buying the pre-made cloth diaper and they lasted me 15 years so far. I am just starting my third set of panties since 2009, with the second having lasted 10 years, I do change the innermost panties with the diaper and have over a dozen changes. If you had a normal layette, it would be a dozen diapers and 4 panties. I use the DPF specifications of 1 snap on panty over which is a pul-on so mine, by my option, would be more expensive. However I am still on my first set of cloth diapers created in 2009. The panties I started with at that time were already a few years old and lasted 5 more years. I expact this third set of snap-ons to last about 10 years and the diapers to last another 5 or so at a usage rate of about 6 per week. What I saved on the diapers, I probably spent on the panties. I clean the panties when I bathe and use a HE washing machine I am thinking of adding a booster to the diaper, which will be homemade and pretty much guarantee a full 12 hours per change while not adding much to the care. The more you use them, the more the intial cost is amortized. Also, the throw-away that would be analogous to the BabyDoll would be on the high end. I may start wearing every night which would be 7 diapers and panties as well as the twice weekly during the day which would be 9 per week. However, I am exceptional on the high end. I wonder what it would cost to have the BabyDoll diaper mass-produced and available for purchase, with each being 4 or 5 layers of fabric throughout. I used DSQ prefolds and that was 15 years go Here is the chart
  13. Ahhh! the joys of being self-contained. No telltale packaging or items in the trash. No obscene long-term costs
  14. One of the attributees of the BabyDoll diaper is that it can be very wet all over, yet most of the wearer's chastity area is dry if it is used right. However, to achieve this, the person does have to stand up to wet, sh she needs some ability to hold it, though only for a few seconds. If you do not stand up then the wet will get all over and be trapped inside the rubber liner, which is a messy affair, and you will need to be cleaned and put in a fresh diaper right away. Also, it is this feature that enables even the Petite BabyDoll to usually go 12 hours without needing a change. Sonce the doulbed BabyDoll could last much longer; 16-24 hours, it ovviously works the same as a songle. This means that an intermediate form, a single BabyDoll with a booster along the part that goes between the legs is diable as long as it is not thicker than that part of the diaper. This would ensure that it could go 12 hours between changes even under the heaviest of reasonably predictable wetting periods. The diaper is made so that the wet gets to the outside of the diaper then spreads along the outside and wets from the outside in, with the wetproof liner between the inside of the diaper and the body, which is treated with BabyDoll Bath, Body and Baby Oil, and baby powder so that the liner is not sticky
  15. At 6: 30 was changed into a fresh BabyDoll. which I just wet for the first time about 5 minutes ago. The other one was very wet and needed to be changed out ofand I needed to be cleaned
  16. A Petite BabyDoll, that I have been in s ince 5:30, It is now 6:15 and I have wet it once Since it can go for 13 hours before needing to be changed, the "Petite" may be the standard BabyDoll diaper
  17. There is already a thread about baby oil If it is Johnson's then it should have the traditional baby smell. Also there is baby lotion. However, most baby oil destroys rubber panties. There is a DIY baby oil; BabyDoll Bath, Body and Baby Oi,l that does not. It is part of the BabyDoll Personal Care and Grooming line. It has protective, hydrating, therapeutic and restorative properties and a baby smell. Like all BabyDoll items, it is rubber panty friendly. I have used these for a number of years. I would say that this is the best that you can get Here is the whole product line
  18. I thought they were garish. I preferred pastels, transparent: clear and transparent colors, metallics, also raincapes. A girl can never have too many of them. I do not like ponchos; very unfemininie. It is all right if they have hoods as long as they let my tiara show
  19. You would probably have to got to eBay and input "vintage baby items 1950's". They have many print advertisements for baby panties. I do not know that much about baby apparel/accessories save the rattles, bottles, rubber panties, rubber sheets and the quilted lap pads. I know more about the childrens' things. You can go to Surveys and look up my remarks on the "What Are Your Priorities" Survey At one time, whe had a "Diaper Musieum" But that has gone away. Some 10 years ago, Mikey brought up the idea of updating it before it vanished. Some of us had pix of things from earlier times. It seems that idea disappeared into the aether. I still have some of them. I also created the BabyDoll personal care items, which have the real baby smell, you can find them in my albums. I sort of became an expert at using modern things to stand in for what no longer exist and have not for almost 70 years. I got my hands on a very good stand-in for a tea set, which I actually used for a "tea party" back in the 1990's. The pictures of it are in my About Me. Look at the pictures in my signature to get some ideas
  20. Historical determinism ("Times have changed") does not make anything right or wrong. If we sought to legitimize ourselves 55 years ago by saying that we will only appeal to consenting adults, what makes it all right now to force out kink on non-consenting adults? Nothing, it is just being a self-abosorbed douchebag, just as it would have then and will a millennium from how. Well, exhibitionism is forcing your thing on the non-consenting "Times have changed" is no excuse for trying to con people into believing that 2+2=5. Why repeat about what is being shown oor taught in schools? That does not make anything right or wrong, either. The two are not related. If they showed people jumping off the bridge singing HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN, would that make it a good idea? What is taught or shown stands or falls on its own merits, just like everything else. Judge a thing by what IT is, not by what something else is. All that ever does is make a big ball of knotted up string in your head that paralyzes your brain, making it, and you ineffective
  21. I already know that. It justifies nothing. There is the issue, by flashing or other exposure, of forcing your kink on the unwilling; i.e. non-consenting, adult or children. I follow the standards set by DPF; do not involve the unwilling or minors, as reasonable. Remember, it started to go south for DPF when they includied letters from minors in the newsletter even though they did not identify the authers of said letters. And look at the kefuffle we got into with some of the diaper companies because they used images of children on the package of their product to make the package look realistic about a dozen years ago. And who can forget "[that site]"? Jack Texeira didn't think he'd get in hot water for publishing classified material on the 'net. Do not start what somebody else can finish. And the best way to figure that out is if what you are contemplating has "self-absorbed douche move" written all over it
  22. There is no acceptable public exposure. Once you start, it becomes a slippery slope that quickly descends into exhibitionism and in fact, has exhibitionism built in, with the thrill monster demanding more and more overt action, ultimately ending in the standing healine MAN AREESTED WEARING ONLY DIAPER. What makes it wrong and a subject of police action are these. There are many, if not most, ABDL who understand the private nature of this asin the old anti-drunk driving campaign "Your lifestyle is your business, but if you take it on the road, it becomes everybody's business", and wish to live in peace with the rest of the world and exhibitionists give us all a bad reputation along the lines of "Oh, yeah; ABDL's. Aren't they the ones that go 'round sticking their diapers in everyone's face?". I do not and I do NOT want to be associated with those who do. Given the tenor of the times, this could have legal or metnal health ramifications Then there is the issue of being in the area of real children. Finally there is they issue of being a flasher with diapers being considered undergarments. The best way to not have to deal with all of this is not to start. We are a tiny minority who had to fight for what we got so let us not throw it away by being dumb. Who ever thought Roe V Wade would go down? But it did
  23. This is also a function of what age range (Baby, Little, etc) you are. Even the "little" can be divided into two: 4 to 7 ; Very Little and 8 to 11; Little). The former still had some baby characteristics like bedwetting and for girls, being diapered on long trips the '50's to the '70's was not monolithic. In 1953, if you wet the bed, you had a rubber sheet covering your mattress if your parents had any brains. '57 saw the beginning of mattresses with built-in waterproof tops. Glass bottles were becoming a thing of the past by 1964, replaced by translucent colored polyethylene. I never saw tights before 1957, ditto "rhumba" panties or "Fancy" Pants. As far back as 1950. little girls had these plaid dresses with white collars. Being diapered for long trips up to age 8 started to go away with the rise of the Interstate system beginning in 1957 since this made trips that took all afternoon an hour and a half ride by adding 1/3 to the average speed and sometimes being more direct and avoiding citiy slowdowns along the way. The idea of what a "babydoll" was changed between 1952 and 1964, depending on where you were and the wearer's age; it was far mor nuanced than a "boy", of 50 would know that I do, being over 75 and very much exposed to girl; expeicially little girl, things. By 1969, very little girls were dressed in things that would not have been tolerated only 10 years earlier that were, by the middle-aged, considered sexually explicit or downright trollopy. Things also varied by region. What did not go in New England could have been perfectly acceptable in New York or California. What was tolerated for a 9 year old may not have been for a 5 So the '50's to the 70's" was far from static or even the same from region to region
