  3. Greetings from Portsmouth, former uni student here.
  4. Just to clarify, we're just engaged so far. We've got a lot that we need to sort out in order to actually go through with the civil partnership (Or marriage, if the law gets passed fast enough). I've only just got around to informing my parents, let alone the rest of my extended, wedding-loving family.
  5. Not a lot I can add to this, really. It's been a wonderful year (and a bit), and I hope it continues for a long time to come. Thanks, DD!
  6. Only downside: The ring is a little too small, so it ended up on my little finger. Elfy forgot about my comically oversized hands.
  7. Yes, I do. The thought about this topic suddenly hit me as I've not really done any international flying since the more recent wave of security tightening and I thought it might be a concern. Thanks for addressing it, folks, you're all very helpful
  8. I'm the "partner" mentioned in the OP I'll consider uploading some fuzz'd photos from our trip. I uploaded a single photo from my previous solo trip, though. Not very interesting, though.
  9. I'd like to come along, but having checked both the coach fares and train fares for a trip to Birmingham from Portsmouth, I'd have to spend about £35 minimum to get there, which I really can't cover at the moment. I'll have to wait for the next one.
  10. Welcome to DD, fellow Portsmouth-dweller.
  11. One of my favourite pieces of satire, from the British comedy series "Yes, Minister" A bit incomprehensible if you're not familiar with British newspapers, though.
  12. I normally use a pair of white plastic pants over my disposables. Partly as a minor leak guard, and partly to hide the nappy from crinkling and stuff.
  13. It took a lot to finally work up to going into a store rather than get my supplies online. While I lived on a small residential campus in university halls, I had small quantities delivered via purchases from eBay, so they were usually boxed in something solid and could pass off to the parcel receivers at reception as just about anything. When I moved into an actual house, I lived with (and still do, in a different place) housemates, so I had to time my visits to a pharmacy around the corner carefully. Much like yourself, I didn't particularity want other people finding out, but thankfully, my other housemates, being youngish students often slept in on weekends, allowing me to head out and back again with my supply before anyone was awake. I did this for both the pharmacy itself, and a local store that sold Goodnites before as well. This is harder in my new place as that same pharmacy is now further away, and my housemates this time are a little more unpredictable with their sleeping patterns. In fact, during my last run, one of my housemates woke up while I was out of the house, but was thankfully distracted from my arrival. I'm less nervous about walking into the pharmacy, picking up some Tena Maxi, paying for them and carrying them home in a black binbag than the little patch of house I have to pass through from the front door to my bedroom when I can't confirm 100% that I'll be the only one there. In short, I empathize entirely with your position.
  14. I would suspect my body has made this mistake a couple of times while I've been asleep. I've never consciously done it, though.
  15. Woke up wet this morning. Currently a Tena Maxi under my favourite pair of plastic pants and my pyjamas. Going to need to get changed soon to head out for the day.
  16. Wait, Kendall changed to cloth-backed? That's a shame, those were the first type I ever bought for myself a few years back. Good thing Tena Maxis are still as good as they are.
  17. Sounds like you folks had a good time. Wish I could afford train tickets to go anywhere at the moment, ah well, there's always next time.
  18. I must admit, I've never figured out how to do diaper stuffing.
  19. Well, my cotton covered plastics from Cuddlz arrived (Along with my NUK5, yay). Very pleasant and comfortable, but I can't really comment on their effectiveness, so to say, as I rarely totally soak my disposables to the point of leakage, and I have no cloth nappies to "test" with.
  20. I was thinking of picking up some of Cuddlz's plastics after I did exactly the same thing to the pair I got from Cosyndry. Thanks for the review!
  21. I will also verify the good reviews of the Cuddlz nappy. I can only afford them occasionally, but they're exceedingly good for the cost.
  22. I live in a rented house near the university I go to, but I don't want to reveal this little fact to my housemates, so I keep everything hidden. I have occasionally worn a couple of my more discreet types outside the house, perfect for the long trips home, for example.
  23. I'd be tempted to come up from Hampshire for this, but it'll cost £42 return for the train fare, and I have nowhere to stay in the Birmingham area (Closest haven I have up in that direction is Nottingham). I'll have to wait until there's one closer, sorry.
  24. I have similar problems to Loopy, I'm also very shy, yet I recently met a ABDL down here in Hampshire. I occasionally travel to London to visit relatives, it's only an hour and a bit away by train (Pretty cheap too), so maybe it's about time I travelled around a little. Welcome to the UK, mind the year-long rain.
