  1. I used to fly SEA to Heathrow on a regular basis (I had an office in Oxfordshire), and I would always take the 7:00pm flight Friday night. It arrived at noon Saturday, which gave me plenty of time to recover. I would always be one of the first in the office on Monday morning. Returning the following Saturday was real easy for me. I would just go to bed at my normal time, and getting up for church was easy Sunday morning. For me, I sleep on flights real easily - especially during take offs. Can't do anything else, since they have me turn off my Kindle. I am a rooster, and I find it real easy to do west bound flights, my recovery is fast and easy. Eastbound flights are harder, especially if the time change is more than 4 hours. I've been told that rooster types have it easier going east bound, but I have no way to verify that.
  2. A friend once described psych majors as "kids so screwed up that they are studying themselves". I think she was right.
  3. Hi Wakko, A degree in French? By this point in your life you must have some ideas about your career. Where does this schooling fit in to the picture? Have you had any interesting internships yet? I'm wondering about the job market for you and the value of a post grad degree in something so specialized.
  4. Glad to hear you're doing better today. Feel free to reach out any time you want another perspective. There are lots of caring people on this site.
  5. Hi Wakko, Let me see if I got this right. You've been busting your hump for a long time now, so long that you are feeling guilty about taking a day off. Sounds like you should be taking these days off more often. Next time, go out. Catch a bus, walk the zoo, see a new museum exhibit. Basically, get out of your normal environment and treat yourself to something different. It doesn't have to be expensive, just different. While you're out, find a way to bring a smile to a stranger. And enjoy yourself.
  6. It must be a hit or miss situation, as I always had my regular place to stop between Heathrow and the pub I stayed at. Great stock of quality nappies.
  7. I have found the mobility shops in the UK to have a great selection of incon supplies.
  8. My preference is a bottle of Red Hook Ale. Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk 2
  9. I like the TV adverts that use blue water to show the absorbency of their products.
  10. I have accidents - just like the ones on the freeway, but not.
  11. My insides react violently to opiates in even small doses. Not a good experience. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
  12. 50s and cloth as well. I remember the porcelain and steel diaper pail and the bleachy smell. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
  13. I am an unusual one- a Democrat with a history of gun ownership. Actually, I consider myself a reformed Republican. I shook hands with R Nixon, voted for Reagan both times, then became disenchanted with the GOP when the Religious Right came in. Now we have an awful mix of the NRA, Tea Party and Lord Rush running the RNC. There are no new ideas, no sane ideas and no willingness to work with the opposition. We don't need new laws, except to force a background check in all cases. With a few changes in policy, we can effect a real change: 1. Police should be instructed to shoot to kill if facing a threat from someone with an assault weapon. There are too many police widows already. 2. Police departments should boycott gun dealers and manufacturers who provide more superior weapons to the general public than they provide to the police. 3. Same policy for all federal agencies and the Defense Department. 4. Any gun safety programs (including armed guards in schools) should be paid for by a tax against the ammunition sold in this country. We do that now with tobacco, why not guns? That's my story, common sense. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
  14. I commute to my various West Coast offices each week. In my home airport the agents are beginning to recognize me- I have an id photo that is unforgettable. Never stopped for my diaper, no matter how wet it is. Was stopped post-scan on a trip recently and while I was wondering about my very wet diaper, I was asked to pull up my sleeve. "Nice watch" was the response. Don't worry about the TSA, they are very good and easy to deal with. Enjoy your trip! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
  15. My wife and I were married 17 years before our first child came along. It was worth the wait, as we now have 2 healthy outstanding teenagers. Never give up hope.
  16. Those poor Falcons are about to receive some serious whoop ass from my Seahawks.
  17. Thought I would try luvs as a stuffer since they were on sale. Bad choice for me - I don't like the scent. Is there any baby diapers I can use that have no perfume?
  18. Though I prefer dry, it never stays that way for very long.
  19. Read the whole series many times over when I was in school. Now I have seen this with my kids, and it is the best of the series (so far).
  20. For absolute comfort when wearing all day, I prefer the Abena pull ups; fabulous fit. As for the store brands, Depends seems to be getting better for absorbency, the padding is in the right place. It still gives me a rash after about 3-4 days though, as the lining isn't as soft as others. Tranquility ATNs are OK- just as absorbent as the Depends, with no rash and a higher price.
