    • Nothing tonight. Going to a concert tomorrow night. Maybe?  Especially when the men’s bathroom was a good place to catch a contact buzz last time.

    • Chapter 20: Pool incident As Kris exited the bathroom, he saw his dad standing over by the kitchen. His mom was gone off of the couch. He could also see Kyle standing in the hallway waiting for Kris to finish in the shower so he could take one himself. It seemed like the whole family was awake and already going about their morning routines. "Morning, Dad." Kris greeted his dad. He wanted to tell him so badly about how he managed to stay dry, but with Kyle so close, and Sam already running around the suite with the energy of ten toddlers left him feeling reserved. Maybe he could tell him when they went downstairs to play some games.  "Morning, bud. We'll be going down in a second. The girls want to go swimming. You want to join us?" His dad seemed to be in a good mood this morning. That was a huge plus, if Kris was lucky that would mean his dad would actually want to celebrate with Kris about being dry instead of ridiculing him for doing something all 8 year olds ought to be able to do.  "Umm... Can we play at the arcade instead?" Kris was never a fan of swimming. He was terrible at it, and hated the activity. His sisters on the other hand loved it and would spend their entire vacation in the pool if they could. To be fair, he also knew he was the same way when it came to the arcade. If they didn't have anything else to do, and an unlimited budget, he would spend the entire time playing video games, and maybe riding some of the rides that were available at the park.  Kevin looked around the room, thinking for a moment.  "Tell you what, after we get the girls settled in at the pool, you and I can hit up the arcade for a few rounds. But we'll need to check up on them after a few rounds. Deal?" Kevin knew Kris hated swimming, but there was no reason to keep him up in the suite while Kim went back to sleep for a few more hours. He knew Kyle would be responsible enough just to read a book or something while the rest of them were downstairs. He had already chatted with Kyle to find out he didn't want to join them yet, instead wanting to enjoy a long shower all to himself.  "Okay!" Kris wasn't sure he could convince his dad to join him. He knew his dad liked playing video games, too, but he was also super protective of the family. Normally, splitting up like this would never happen, but it sounded like he was going to give it a shot for a change, and they could all do something they wanted this morning.  Kris saw Sam and Tammi grab a small bag with a towel draped over it. They had both changed into their swimsuits while Kris was in the shower. Now, it made more sense why Kyle was standing in the hall waiting to take a shower himself. He wasn't allowed in the shared room while they changed. Their swimsuits were modest one-piece dress swimsuits.  Kris quickly followed behind them as the four of them left the room, heading down towards the lobby to go for a swim, and for Kris to play some games. Sam and Kris both had a hard time containing their excitement. Sam was already jumping up and down in the elevator. Kris was just as excited trying to talk to his dad about all of the games he couldn't wait to play. Trying to ask what games his dad thought they had in the hotel for them to play.  But both Kevin and Tammi were calm; Kevin was busy checking his phone to make sure everything was alright upstairs and formulating a plan on how he wanted this all to play out. Would they play at the arcade for 20 minutes or 40 before they checked in on the girls? Was it really a good idea to leave those two alone? Should he have asked Kyle to join and watch Kris? When was breakfast hour over? Did Kim have enough time to sleep until they were done playing? When did they have to finish playing? Kevin couldn't help himself in trying to plan out every last detail. He unintentionally ignored his kids and their excitement as he tried to figure everything out. "Dad... Dad... Dad?" Kris was nudging Kevin's arm at this point. Kevin was so much in a fog, worrying about everything, that he hadn't even realized they had already arrived at the pool. Tammi had already checked in and got in the pool, but Sam was still standing by him, waiting for something. "Huh? Oh, um. What's up bud?" Kevin was trying to get his earrings, now back in reality and not in panic mode.  "Can we go to the arcade now?" Kris wasn't sure why his dad didn't hear him the last five times he had asked, but it seems like he was paying attention now. "No! Dad's got to see me do a lap first!" Sam whined. She never had a chance to show her dad how good of a swimmer she'd gotten. She felt like she never got to spend time with her dad. Normally, the boys would get to hang out with him, and the girls were with their mom. But now was a chance for her to show off to her dad and hopefully get him to celebrate how good she'd gotten.  "Swimming is stupid. Dad said he would play games with me in the arcade. Just go swimming with Tammi. You two are the ones who like to swim." Kris just wanted to go and start enjoying himself. He didn't want to have to wait forever at the pool watching his sisters swim. He'd rather be stuck in the room doing nothing, playing on his handheld, than watching them. "Ugh! You always get to hang out with Dad. I just want him to see how good I've gotten." Sam was clearly frustrated, nearly throwing a tantrum. "It's okay..."  "It's just swimming, there's nothing impressive about it." Kris argued back before Kevin could break things up and settle things between the two kids. "Yeah, well, at least I can swim better than you!" Sam felt offended that Kris would try to downplay her skills. "It's at least more helpful than playing stupid video games." "Yeah, only if you need to. If you stay out of water you don't need to. Besides, games are more fun." Things were clearly getting heated between the two kids. Everything was happening so fast, blink and you would have missed it. Suddenly, Kris began to slip and fall backwards towards the pool as Sam brushed past him in a huff, walking towards the stairs to get in the pool. Kris was stunned as he began falling. He hated swimming, and wasn't dressed for it. The life guard and Kevin quickly strung into action. Kevin tried to reach for Kris before he fell in, but couldn't reach him in time.  SPLASH Kris fell directly into the water, quickly throwing his arms about as he tried to get above the surface of the water again. His heart was pounding with fear. He hadn't expected to fall into the pool or to go in water at all.  The life guard jumped into the water next to him, blowing his whistle to get the other kids, and parents' attention as he went in to help Kris out of the water. Kris was quickly pulled out of the water and brought back up to the side of the pool, completely soaked from head to toe. "Are you okay?" The life guard lady inquired as she looked Kris up and down. "Yeah, I just slipped" Kris felt embarrassed about what happened. But more importantly, he felt more embarrassed about his current state. It was only a few seconds he was in the pool, but that was more than enough time. Kris could hear whispering from several people around him, some kids, some adults. He couldn't make out what they were saying, but he was sure it was about him. "Do you need any help?" the life guard asked Kris's dad as she helped Kris stand back up on his feet, guiding him towards his dad. "No, it's okay, thank you. I can take it from here." Kevin gently placed his arm around Kris, guiding him back towards the elevator. Kris felt horrified as he realized his clothes were sticking to him skin tight, he shot a look down at his pants to see his worse fear. He felt his pull-up swell up when he landed in the water, but in the heat of the moment, he didn't pay any attention to it. But now standing up, he could feel the weight of the soaked garment. It was heavy, absorbing as much water as it could until it reached its limit. The swollen pull-up's outline was clearly visible with his pants clinging to his skin.  Kris began to cry, trying to pry his pants away from his skin desperately trying to hide the pull-up outlined that everyone around them could clearly see, burying his face into his dad's side, trying to hide his face from anyone being able to see who he was. "It's okay, bud. Let's go get you into some dry clothes, then we can play some games, alright?" Kevin's concern for his son, with his face buried into his side was apparent. You could sense his love for his son, when only moments before, there was a sense of irritation and frustration that his son would be too clumsy to have fallen in like that. Kevin glanced back at Sam and Tammi. Both of them clearly looked guilty, and distraught at what had happened to Kris. He didn't want to bring them back upstairs to the room with them, so instead he sent an unspoken message to Tammi, staring her in the eyes as she looked back at him. Then suddenly he nudged his head at Sam, staring briefly at her, hinting at Tammi to keep a close eye on her sister. Tammi nodded getting the message. She felt like trying to have fun at this point was going to be hard with the added stress of needing to keep extra tabs on her sister. But she also knew it was their only option if they wanted to swim while their dad took care of Kris. Kevin slowly guided Kris towards the elevator. Stepping into it, with a mom and her young son, easily only 3 or 4 years old. In the safety of the elevator, Kris finally pulled away from his dad slightly. Kris looked at the other young boy and his mom. He felt embarrassed sharing an elevator with them, but had some reassurance in knowing the mom wasn't likely to say anything, and the boy was likely too young to know what happened. "Mommy, why did that boy go swimming with a diaper?" the young boy tried to whisper to his mom, but was too loud to the point where Kevin and Kris could both hear him. "Tyler! That's none of our business, and it's very rude to ask. I am so sorry." She corrected him, trying to apologize to Kevin for her son's insensitivity. "Thanks. It's a good question young man." Kevin spoke to the young child. "I was going to ask him the same question while we got him dried off." Kevin looked back at Kris, clearly showing now that he realized Kris was wearing a pull-up.  Chapter 21: What Were You Thinking "I'm sorry, Dad." Kris wasn't sure how his dad would react to him wearing a pull-up when they just bought him underwear the day before. "I wasn't sure what to do; Mom said I was still in Pull-ups, and I... I... I wasn't sure what to do. I..." Kris was frantically panicking. He felt every word he spoke was only making things worse.  "So you thought you'd wear a diaper instead of underwear?" Kevin was frustrated and confused. He couldn't understand why Kris, someone who had been giving them so much trouble around wearing the pull-ups in the first place, would willingly wear one during the daytime without someone prompting it. Well, someone coherent. He should have known that his mom wasn't being serious. "I didn't want to make you upset." Kris hung his head and spoke softly. He knew he messed up, and there was nothing he could do to fix it. He simply hoped his dad would at least be semi-understanding. Kevin sighed loudly, pausing to contemplate his next actions. "I can't believe he would do this. He says he doesn't like them. He says he doesn't need them. He says he doesn't want to be a baby. He says he doesn't mean to have these accidents. Yet here he is. He has fresh, brand new underwear that I HAD to buy because HE forgot them AGAIN." "Did you open that pack of underwear yet?" Kris's heart skipped a beat at his dad's question. Why would he ask such a thing? "I haven't, not yet. But should I? Should I lie and say I did? But what if he finds out I lied?" Kris didn't want to risk finding out. His dad wouldn't mind putting back everything in the shopping cart and leaving the store if they were't behaving. So him ending the trip early, or sending Kris back home early wouldn't have been out of the question.  "No. Not yet." Kris hated the thought of losing out on the fun of their first significant family vacation. He hoped his dad wasn't going to do anything too drastic. "Good, bring them here." Kevin was clearly upset and had something in mind as to how to handle the situation. Kris wasn't sure if he was in trouble or not, but the fact that his dad asked for the pack of underwear wasn't a good sign. Kris rushed back into the shared bedroom, still soaked from head to toe from falling into the pool. As he walked into the room, he saw Kyle laying on their shared bed reading a book. He lifted up his eyes to see Kris in his soaked state, including the soaked pull-up still very visible through his cloths. "What happened to you?" Kyle couldn't believe his eyes. How did he manage to get completely soaked? Not only that, but why was he still in a diaper? "Sam shoved past me, knocking me into the pool." Kris was irritated that his brother saw his sorry state. He couldn't believe this happened. He didn't know what was worse, the fact that everyone downstairs, in their shared hotel, now saw he was wearing a diaper or having an accident on the plane. At least in the airport, it was unlikely he would ever see those people again, and most likely, most of them didn't even notice.  But here? At a shared hotel, where there were hundreds of people in the area, and on the walk back to the room. There was no way people didn't notice, and the likelihood of him running into them again was very high while on this trip. He wasn't sure if he would ever live this down. If he were lucky, no more instances of something like this would ever happen again while they stayed at the resort. "But why are you wearing a diaper?" Kyle couldn't help himself. He didn't want to pick on Kris, he wasn't trying to make fun of him. He just couldn't understand why Kris would be wearing one after how many times he stated he hated them. Correcting him every time he called them a diaper. "It's not a diaper. It's a pull-up." Kris hated it when his pull-ups got called a diaper. He didn't want to be wearing them in the first place. He only put one on to try and save himself from his mom's anger. She asked him to wear one on the flight, and it turned out he needed it. He wasn't sure if she actually meant it this morning. Tammi was sure she didn't, but how could he be sure? She might have just tried to trick him. "Mom thought it would be a good idea if I wore one. So I put one back on instead of underwear." Kris blushed, explaining the situation to Kyle. Shivering slightly as the AC in the room combined with his soaked clothing, started to make him feel cold. Kyle didn't reply, instead he turned his attention back to his book. Kris grabbed the pack of underwear next to their bed, and left to meet his dad back out in the main living room. He handed the package to his Dad, who was waiting for his response. "Good, still sealed." Kris felt a little hurt that his dad didn't believe him about not opening it. "Now, go get dried off."  "But what about my underwear?" Kris felt like he was going to regret asking that question, but he also wasn't sure what to do now that his dad had the package, and it seemed like he was in trouble for wearing a pull-up. "I'm going to go talk with your mom. If you told the truth about her telling you to wear a diaper, then I'll think about giving you a pair. But... If you lied. You are wearing pull-ups for the rest of today, given you seem to like them so much." Kris felt a lump in his throat. He wanted to argue back, that he hated the pull-ups. But he couldn't. If Mom didn't remember saying what she did, he wouldn't have any leg to stand on. He would have to hope Tammi would vouch for him. But she was downstairs and he would already be in a Pull-up by the time she could confirm his story. "Whatever I hand you while you are in the bathroom is what you'll put on. Understand?" Kevin wasn't going to leave any room for a misunderstanding. he wanted to get this cleared up and move on with their day. He didn't care either way. He hoped that the bed-wetting thing was just a phase, and so were those few daytime accidents. Hoping they were just a one-off accident. But as things progressed, he was beginning to have doubts. Each small thing Kris did just added more and more proof in his mind that Kris just wanted to be treated like a baby again. He'd rather pee himself than use a toilet. "Yes, sir." Kris hoped mom remembered just enough about this morning that she would cover his story. She had to. They weren't allowed to lie. Right? She had to tell him the truth, which meant he was going to be back in underwear. Staying dry last night seemed pointless now, given what happened with the pool. It wouldn't mean anything if he told his dad, given he soaked it in the pool water. Kris left for the bathroom to dry off and get changed into a new set of clothes for the day. *** "Honey... hun." Kevin gently shook his wife on the bed, trying to wake her up. But she was completely out, sound asleep. "Honey, I need to ask you something real quick." Kevin gave her a firmer nudge. He didn't want to wake her up. She had barely gotten any sleep these last few weeks. She was super stressed about the trip and worried for Kris; it turns out her worrying was well warranted. "Huh?.. what is it?" She asked in a sleep daze, barely more awake than she was this morning when interacting with Kris. "Sorry, hun. I just need to know. Did you tell Kris to wear a diaper today?" Kevin hated that he was disturbing her sleep. He hoped that the coffee this morning with the nap would be enough for her to still enjoy the rest of their day at the theme park. "What? No. He only needs those at night. We just... just got... him some underwear... didn't we?" She still had her eyes closed in a squinting expression, trying to concentrate despite being barely awake. "What are we going to do with that boy." Kevin shook his head in disappointment. "He says he doesn't know why he pees his bed, yet he poops himself?"  "I... don't know, hun... maybe..." Kim trailed off and fell back to sleep before finishing her thoughts. "Then he goes and wears the dang things during the day, too. It's like he wants to be wearing them, yet complains about it." Kevin hung his head in defeat. He felt he was at a crossroads with no right decisions to make. "I don't know what we are going to do." Kevin looked over at Kim, who was sleeping soundly in bed again. He let out a light sigh and got up from the bed, leaving the room as quietly as he could. Trying to avoid waking her up again.  Kevin went to the kid's shared room on the other side of the suite. He saw Kyle lying on one of the beds, reading his book. "Hey, where are your brother's diapers?" Kevin asked Kyle while standing in the door frame of the room. "He needs a new one." *** "Here, you're wearing one of these today." Kevin held the pull-up through a crack in the bathroom door, holding it out for Kris to grab. Kris stared at the pull-up momentarily. He didn't want to put on a new one. Grabbing it would be admitting defeat, that he would be wearing one for likely the rest of the day. He hated that thought, going another complete day without wearing any underwear felt humiliating.  He wanted to push it away. To close the door. To demand for underwear. But he knew he couldn't. Doing so would only seal his fate in his dad returning the package of new underwear. If he complied, he at least stood a small chance of getting back into undies before they went to any of the main attractions at the park. Against all of his desires, Kris reached for and grabbed the pull-up from his dad. "If you hurry up, we can still go play some games before we need to head out. After, we check on your sisters." Kevin didn't want to ruin Kris's time at the park. He really hoped Kris would manage to stay dry for the whole day without any accidents. If he wasn't able to, maybe there really was something wrong with him. It's either that, or he likes wearing them, and they were only enabling him.
