Dr. E does the silicone, but that was a whole separate procedure. He does not do the other surgery. He would never do that. He’s so conservative with the amount of silicone. It’s crazy.

Absolutely none.  You will fill your diaper 24 seven you don’t know when it’s gonna come you don’t know when you’re gonna fill your diaper. It just happens kinda like after you pee for a while. You don’t even realize you’re peeing in your diaper. It’s the same thing with that. You don’t even realize you’re filling your diaper.  I’m very happy with this procedure. It worked great effective and I haveNo regrets.

setup & Logistics:
I traveled to Mexico for the procedure, which cost $800 out-of-pocket. The clinic handled everything very efficiently—from initial intake to prep, surgery, and brief post-op observation, I was in and out in about four hours total. As a safety precaution, I stayed overnight in San Diego so I’d be close to the border if any immediate issues popped up, but everything went smoothly and I was able to fly home the next day.
The Medical Procedure (Lateral Internal Sphincterotomy):
The goal of the surgery is to relieve hypertonia (excessive tightness or chronic spasms) in the anal canal. The surgeon makes two precise, controlled incisions into the internal anal sphincter muscle—one on each side. The internal sphincter is an involuntary muscle that acts like an elastic ring; when it's overactive, it restricts blood flow and prevents tissue from healing. By releasing tension in that muscle ring, it permanently prevents it from clamping down too tight, allowing normal blood flow and immediate pressure relief.
Recovery & Outcome:
Because the incisions relax the muscle tension right away, the severe spasm pain subsides almost immediately after the procedure. Recovery mostly involves basic wound care (like sitz baths and keeping the area clean), managing mild soreness, and taking stool softeners to avoid straining while the small internal cuts heal.
