  1. 1. Would you buy non-AB themed printed diapers? If so, what would you look for?

    • No, I prefer my printed diapers to look like baby/toddler/kid diapers.

    • This is of no interest to me, I only wear white or generic "medical-print" diapers.

I'm curious as to if there's much demand out there among DL's and the "I'm forced to wear diapers by circumstances so I might as well enjoy them" cohort for non-AB printed diapers. Off the top of my head, I can only think of a few models that might meet this description, and a couple of them are defunct now: Rearz Rebels (skull & crossbones themed, not currently listed), Incontrol Premium Nights (black cover), Rearz used to have a purple diaper, & NorthShore offers the MegaMax in blue, pink, and tie-dye, plus they list some Forsite-branded products on their site that have multi-coloured leaves, grey strips or purple polka-dots on them.

Pretty much all of the other printed offerings on the market, of which there are dozens and dozens, fall into the the "AB" (adult baby), or at least "AK" (adult kid) themed category - they run from slightly, to very overtly cutesy, juvenile, or sissified, or they try to look like baby diapers from a particular era.

Not that I'm complaining - if Pampers or Huggies made a size 12, I'd buy them, and my diaper inventory runs about half white, half AB, but I have had the thought that it would be nice to be able to wear a printed diaper that didn't feature pink bunnies or teddy bears and baby bottles, for, say, doctors appointments, or if I were to ever be on the dating scene again (my wife would laugh at that idea).

Even as a DL, I prefer my diapers to be more like baby/toddler diapers in design and I'm sure my bias comes from my DL side starting when I was young (90's) so that's what I knew as diapers. It certainly wouldn't hurt if there were more options than "AB" and plain, particularly for those who are incontinent and not AB/DL. If I were to pick another style, it would definitely be more like hobbies and/or environment. When Huggies came out with their "Jean" print diapers I found that rather ridiculous so "fabric" prints are likely a no-go for me. And if Pampers or Huggies (any of the current baby diaper brands really) did make any size 12-20, I'd buy those in a heartbeat. Hopefully, someone will pick up the missing portions of the market someday.

This is really interesting - it's a small sample size so far, but it seems like a lot (73%) of the participating DL's out there would be interested in non-childish-looking printed diapers, meanwhile 95% or more of what's on the market in terms of printed diapers look like baby or kid diapers.

I was wearing the NSC megamax tie-dye diapers for a couple of case orders but I've gone back to black now.

That and the NSC Supreme Lite polkadots, these are the only "prints" that aren't juvenile I've seen.

I wish there were less childish themes but I also enjoy the childish ones if that makes sense, when I regress I regress to such a young age that the diaper doesn't really matter to me

Forsite Diapers has several non AB patterns.

Many years ago Depend put out patterned pullups. They were ugly and didn't last long. Oddly I was part of the survey group that picked the patterns. The rejected group was worse.

There are TV holiday specials that come out or have been around seasonally for years, so why not have seasonal diaper prints?  Might be expensive for manufacturers, but different Halloween, Christmas, Easter and even 4th of July prints would be cool.  Not baby type prints, but Christmas, for example, Currier and Ives type prints, Christmas card type prints, Santas and elves, Rudolph, snowy landscapes and things like that on diapers.  For Halloween, horror type prints, Jack-O-Lanterns, all kinds of ideas.  Independence day could have the American flag, Statue of Liberty, Liberty Bell, George Washington or print of the Deceleration of Independence.  New Years could have Champaign glasses, the new year baby, the ball drop in Times Square, all kinds of different ideas.  All those would make great diaper prints that are adult themed.  People could stock up on their favorite ones during the particular holiday so when it was over, they could wear a Christmas printed diaper in summer if they wanted to.

Rearz has done this for Halloween and Christmas - however they only sell them in sample packs of 2 and they charge a lot for them. I wanted to get the Christmas diapers and wear them for Christmas day, but it was hard to justify spending $20 (with shipping) for two diapers that only my wife would see, anyway, and I doubt she'd have been impressed.

A year or so ago Rearz had their purple Halloween Haunt diapers for sale in bags.  I got a few. I think I still have a few diapers left.

As I noted before, there seems to be some real demand for prints that say "I like my diapers" without saying "And I wish I was 3 again...".

Not that I have anything against AB-themed diapers - I own a bunch. But it would be cool to wear, I don't know, sports-themed diapers, or Hawaiian diapers or beer-themed ones or whatever. NASCAR? MLB? Yankees diapers, anyone?

70% of respondents seem to concur!

It is possible to customize a plain white diaper by putting a printed landing zone sticker on it. I don't understand why there is no company specialized exactly on these stickers yet. Custom t-shirts printing is already available. Maybe the same printer technology could be adapted for this too. And perhaps it could be possible to make printed stickers for velcro tabs as well. Or - is it a crazy idea? - printing directly on the diaper? ABU sells some stickers, but I think those are overpriced and the design variety is quite poor. Anybody tried them?

I hate the medical white nappies as I like to think of my incontinence as a childish habit that I might ‘grow out of’! I have over the years become more DL than AB and that has morphed into Adult Kid. So I do like the more childish nappies. What I would like to see is more ‘older child’ designs rather than all the baby designs. I would love for my pull-ups (Abena M3) to have a childish design on them. I make my own shaped terry nappies that have a brushed cotton layer that goes next to my skin. I always buy little boy themed fabrics like cars or boats, the latest are sharks!!!

Good thought - sharks, boats, cars, pets, farm animals, firetrucks, construction equipment, instead of teddy bears and baby bottles and baby toys etc.

This reminds me of my daughter's friend who was mortified when her mom brought her back some store-brand pull-ups when she was travelling - they had a print on them that depicted baby pandas with pacifiers, wearing diapers and bonnets. She was 8 or 9 at the time, and very unimpressed.
