My bed wetting progress update and questions for other trained bed wetters

Recommended Posts

I've been actively training myself to wet the bed for the past 45 days, with the goal of achieving this regardless of whether I'm wearing a diaper. Initially, I followed a routine where I wore diapers every night for the first 30 days, stayed well-hydrated, and consciously let go of my bladder whenever I needed to before returning to sleep. During waking hours, I occasionally practiced urinating without a diaper to acclimate my body to the sensation.

After the initial 30 days, I began incorporating fully clothed bed-wetting sessions once a week, alongside wearing diapers on other nights. My strategy was to wet the bed while clothed in various positions upon waking, aiming to become accustomed to this scenario without relying solely on diaper use.

I faced initial challenges during these clothed bed-wetting sessions, finding it difficult to fall back asleep immediately due to the discomfort of being soaked. However, with consistent practice, I've managed to improve my ability to drift back into sleep while fully soaked.

To ensure that my bed-wetting experiences were truly involuntary and not just a result of forgetting, I devised a method using my phone. I place my phone beside me when sleeping and flip it over if I wake up to urinate. In the morning, I check the position of my phone to determine whether I wet involuntarily or consciously.

Recent observations indicate that my phone remains in the same position as when I fell asleep, suggesting that my body is indeed releasing urine involuntarily during the night without my conscious awareness.

Despite these advancements, I'm encountering a recurring issue of waking up with the urge to urinate later in the night, typically between 4-6 am. This may be attributed to factors like morning arousal or lighter sleep states. I'm curious to know if others have experienced similar challenges and whether this aspect of my bed-wetting journey will improve over time.

Yup...pretty much the same.  I wake up early regardless, then check to see if my color lines have changed.  Initial problems wetting lying down happened at the beginning, but I got accustomed to it quickly.  First actual wet night was like 6 months in.

I recommend wearing diapers during the daytime to help increase your Bedwetting,

It takes a long time but if you constantly wet your diaper during the daytime (whenever you feel the urge) your bladder will shrink eventually to a point where nighttime accidents become inevitable.

Reusable Underpads are also critical because night time diaper leaks are a common part of the process, and sleeping on an underpad means not having to ruin your mattress or constantly doing your bedding laundry.

It’s improved some but still in my ninth year of every night wearing/wetting I often wake early having wet in my sleep with the urge to urinate again.  But then again growing up a bed-wetter it was much the same.

When you say first wet night was a 6 months what do you define as a wet night? No waking/remembering that you wet?

I wear during the day occasionally. Currently my goal is just to wet at night, I'm not looking to go full-time incontinent at this time.

I have both a full waterproof bed protector as well as a big washable underpad that I use under the sheet so I'm at ease that wetting will not destroy the mattress. I've leaked a few times on purpose and incorporated that into my training as well. I figure the more situations and varies states of dress I can get my body used to wetting in the more likely I am to just let go wherever I am and in whatever I am wearing.

I may eventually go one week on one week off with wearing diapers vs clothed at night. I've thought about wetting while taking naps in various places as well but those are harder to protect against urine damage. I'm basically just trying to make my subconscious as comfortable as can be to wet when asleep or napping.

Do you wet when you're not wearing at night? I'm hoping I can eventually get comfortable enough that I can stay asleep the entire night. I might play around with fluid intake a bit to see if there's a sweet spot. I'm consuming a good amount of water before bed currently.

Yes. No waking or remembering that I woke. Just a wet diaper in the morning. My goal is the same as yours, but I also wear during the day.

Yep, I’ve reached the point I wet when not wearing.  As for nights, I now wear every night so diaper or not is not a factor.  But in the beginning I seemed to wet only when diapered.  That was the case till it wasn’t.  Days I have decent control wearing only when I think there’s a chance of an accident.  So a couple weeks ago I laid down for brief nap.  Having not had anything to drink for hours and just emptied my bladder I thought there was no chance.  I was wrong!

Like they say, be careful what you wish for.  No regrets here.

I'm going to go for a week or two undiapered and keep training the same way by peeing in whatever position I wake in and see if it helps boost my training along. I've gotten better at falling back asleep after wetting undiapered especially with wet clothes. The only downside is my clothes wick the pee up and down and I'm completely soaked head to toe but nothing a morning shower wont fix. I have the bed to myself and I don't mind the laundry either. I use a plastic sheet and a bed pad. I'm thinking this should be the quickest path to becoming a bed wetter and taking down the mental hurdles for me.

That's pretty hard core.  I can't do that because I want to remain married and get to live in my house.  I've tested myself for nappy-free bedwetting (and found that I will do this sometimes) when my beloved has been away but like yourself, it wrecked the rest of the nights sleep and I had to get up and change the bedding (or at least take off my wet pyjamas and move to the other side).  Wet beds get cold quickly.  The best I could manage was a light doze.

That's interesting although in my experience, bedwetting is a subconscious decision and conscious thoughts about wetting the bed can get in the way of it.  The best way for me to wet the bed is to pay no attention to the matter.

Yes.  This is extremely common and I don't know why.  Initially, ALL of my "observed" bedwetting events occurred during the first few hours of sleep.  I've kind of lost insight now because I don't mentally track my bedwetting very much now and I'm used to being wet.  I'm aware that occasionally, I'll "sleep through" and yet wake up empty bladdered.  Logically that tells me that I've peed multiple times during the night and at least, failed to form any recollection of it.

I've been in full time nappies for about 5 years and I suspect I wet the bed (in my sleep) at least a few times per week.
