Chapter 27: Favours

Parum Mortis – LittleFallenPrincess

“Oh no dear, the pleasure is all mine…” Miss Morningstar said, practically purring at my girlfriend.

“I… I’m sorry to have brought you to this place… I just…” You could sense the fear in Beth’s voice. Which just made me even more nervous.

“Don’t worry about it, dear. I’m actually quite happy to see this in such a state after all these years. I remember your Grandmother releasing the previous owner from his debt… which I must admit I was not exactly happy about at the time, but seeing it in a state like this… and more importantly… not in his hands, is… pleasing.”

“I’m sorry about that.”

“Please, enough with the apologies. Seriously. You’re Beatrice’s sister. So you’re a friend. You don’t have to treat me like everyone else does. The previous owners are the ones I have an issue with, not you.”

“Umm…” I muttered, trying to get Beth’s attention. Because right now… I was so freaking confused!

“Yes baby?” Beth asked, looking at me.

“Who… is… umm…”

“Oh where are my manners…” Miss Morningstar put her arm to her waist and tilted her leg back, before bowing before me. “Lucifer, at your service. People call me Miss Morningstar, though technically I don’t have a last name. But I kinda like it, so I’ve been using it for a few centuries.”

“Miss… L… Lu…”

“The Devil, Satan, Samiel… though I always preferred Samantha. Whatever name you’ve heard, that’s me.”

“The… actual… Devil?” My eyes widened in fear. Witches and vampires were one thing. My childhood obsession being real people was pushing it. But this… this was so out of the box now I didn’t know how to react.

“One and the same.”

“Luci is an old friend of mine. She owes me a favour.” Beatrice smiled at me, trying to make me feel more comfortable with the fact that WE HAD THE ACTUAL FUCKING DEVIL IN FRONT OF US!

Which was especially weird as she looked so… normal…

…And hot.

“And you love to remind me of it. So here I am, happy to help… and pay off my debt.” Lucifer rolled her eyes.

“Umm… Miss Devil…?” I asked, fear in my voice.

“You can call me Luci, sweetie.” She replied.

“I… thought you were a guy…”

“Don’t get her started…” Beatrice interrupted, her tone filled with disappointment.

“Do you think the big man upstairs would send his favourite SON to rule Hell? No. But his favourite daughter… damn right he would…!” Lucifer started ranting.

“See, once you get her going…”

“Sorry… I didn’t mean to…” I apologised to both Lucifer and Beatrice.

“It’s okay, sweetie. Any other questions before I ask what I’m doing here?”

“I have to ask… what did Beatrice do for you?”

“Let’s just say it involved a certain sibling of mine.”

“Sibling? As in?”

“A fellow angel.”

I completely forgot that Lucifer wasn’t originally the Devil… or Satan… she was… she was an angel. An actual frickin’ angel!

“But anyway, that didn’t work out, so I’ve…”

Actually…” Beatrice interrupted her.

Because that’s totally a normal thing.

To interrupt THE DEVIL.

SERIOUSLY WHY ARE PEOPLE NOT FREAKING OUT ABOUT THIS?

“Yes, Trixie?” Lucifer teased, causing Beatrice to sigh.

“About that… I’ve got a proposal.”

“Oh?”

“Maybe a match for your sister. I recently made friends with someone who just lost their girlfriend last year. She’s in a pretty dark place. But she… I’ve got a feeling about her. You know… one of those feelings.”

“Really? But it’s been forever since I last tried. I don’t want to have to start over again if it fails…”

“Trust me. I’ve got a really good feeling about this one. Problem is… she’s not in a good place, like I said. It may take some… convincing. As in… you know…”

“Trickery?”

“Exactly. She hates the world. So maybe play on that somehow?”

Lucifer took a second, deep in thought as we all held on bated breath for her reply.

“I’ve got the perfect solution for that… though it may mean you’ll need to get closer to her…” Lucifer trailed off, grinning.

Beatrice sounded so… different… talking to Lucifer. Much more… malevolent. It kinda scared me a bit.

“What did Beatrice mean by one of those feelings?” I whispered to Beth.

“She… well she can’t exactly predict the future. But she has these… feelings. She’s really good at reading people because of it. I can’t explain it any better than that, sorry sweetie. Whilst necromancy is more my thing… this was hers, which was passed down from the other side of the family.”

“So you all have your own things that you’re special at?”

“Yeah, kinda.”

“So… what do you crazy kids need?” Lucifer asked, talking to the group as a whole, instead of just Beatrice this time.

“Warding…” Beth replied.

“Booooring.” Luci just rolled her eyes.

“...Against Death.”

That got her attention.

“Run that by me again…” Luci said, walking over to my girlfriend and pointing at her chest.

“We need warding. Against… well… everything. Including Death.”

“I can see why you wanted to call in this favour… that’s some serious power requirement…” Luci grinned.

“Can you manage it?”

Luci just laughed in response.

“I think that means she can…” I whispered to Beth, who nodded back at me.

Stretching out her hands together, twisting them around and cracking her knuckles, Lucifer adjusted her suspenders and just… walked off.

“So is she…?” Beth asked her sister.

“Just leave her to it. She’ll get it done. When she’s finished, this place will be nigh-impenetrable. At least to any sort of supernatural entity. We’ll still have to reinforce the doors to stop humans.” Beatrice replied.

“Right… Well I better arrange people into groups then. What kind of thing do you want to do, baby?” Beth turned to ask me.

“I… I dunno… I just…”

“Well first things first… we need to get everything cleaned up. All the old furniture ripped out and thrown out. Then we can repair everything and then we can start decorating.”

“I mean… there’s more than that, but yes, that’s the overall gist of it.” Beatrice added.

“So Susie, think about what you wanna do, whilst I go organise others into groups, okay baby? I can slot you anywhere.”

“What are you going to do?” I asked Bea.

“I’m going to go see if Luci needs any help or assistance, whilst making sure everyones has what they need. As long as every group has some muscle and some magic, I think we should be okay.” She replied.

Beth was just about to walk off, when she was suddenly stopped by Pandora.

“What is it?” Beth asked her.

“I was thinking… this stage of the renovation is a bit too… grown up… for a lot of the people here.”

“I mean, they’re still adults, Pandy…” Beth responded.

“Wouldn’t it be cuter if…” Pandora nodded her head away from us, as if signalling somewhere.

“I mean… really we could do with all the help we can get. Do you really think it’s a good idea to put them out of the way?” Beth asked, as if she knew what Pandora was talking about.

“And do you want to have to deal with one of them bratting whilst we’re trying to work?” Pandora counter-argued.

“Ugh… I guess. We do have some handfuls.”

“I’m not much help really. I don’t have strength, and I don’t have magic…” Pandora sighed. “But I know that myself and the little ones will help a lot later when the place is… you know… not a dump. When we can start decorating and designing things. Why don’t I take the little ones to my box, then when things are looking a little less… ramshackle… we can come out and help? It’ll give your little one time to…”

“I don’t know if she’s ready for that, Pandy. She isn’t even sure she’s one of them. She’s still coming to terms with being one of us. Non-human, that is..”

“And this will allow her to socialise and…”

“I’ll go.” I interrupted.

“Are you sure, baby?” Beth asked, out of concern.

“Hey, if it’s not my thing, I can always come back out and help, right? I have that increased strength you need if you really need my help too. I… I’d like to get to know more of these people. You know them all so well… so I want to too.” I explained.

“Right, okay. Pandy, you take them to your box for the time being. If we need any of them for any particular jobs, we’ll come grab them, okay? And if any of them would rather help out here, don’t pressure them to go with you. Got that?” Beth said, sounding very serious.

“I won’t, don’t worry. I’ll go play Nanny in my box with them, and they can get to know your little one… I mean… girlfriend. Sorry.”

Beth nodded, before turning around and grabbing my arm, gently shuffling me off to the side, out of hearing range.

“Are you sure, babe? You don’t have to go… She just wants to make all the littles blushy, and nothing makes them more blushy than having to go be little whilst the bigs are busy working. She loves making babies feel small.” She whispered.

“I figured, but don’t worry. I can always come out, right? I have to ask though… this ‘box’...?”

“Pandora’s box…? That whole story was nonsense. There was a box. And yes… she opened it. But it was just… nothing. There were no evils or curses. And it was a jar, not a box. It was just a pocket dimension where someone had left their gardening supplies, which had all rusted and it was basically just a mess. So she cleared it out and turned it into a nursery for her and her little Medusa, one she could carry anywhere.”

“So… she has her own little pocket dimension now? And it's…”

“It looks a bit like a daycare.” Beth answered.

“Oh… so you’ve been?”

“I’ve seen it, once or twice. She’s normally very restrictive when it comes to letting people in, she only lets us use it on special occasions. Don’t worry, it’s safe, and I think you’ll have fun. Everyone is dying to meet you, and I think you’ll get on well with a lot of them.”

“Is that a joke?”

“Oh… no it wasn’t, sorry. I’m going to have to be careful with the death puns from now on, aren’t I?” She laughed. “Anyway, go have fun. If you need me, just come get me okay? And if I need you, I’ll be right over.”

I turned and looked at Pandora, who held out her hands, one towards me, one towards Lucy… who was still a bit stunned at the whole ‘meeting Lucifer’ thing I think. Thankfully she quickly realised what was happening and took Pandora’s hand as she guided us over to the big group.

“Right… everyone? We’ve decided this stage of the build is too dangerous for the little ones, don’t you agree?”

About half the people in the crowd looked towards their partners and nodded, whilst having the biggest grins on their faces.

“Oh yes, I agree.” I heard a few of them say.

The other half… well their faces were bright red. Guess it’s easy to win ‘find the babies’ in this crowd.

“So… I’m going to take these two little ones and my own to my daycare, and I’m extending the offer to all other little ones. Obviously… you don’t have to go, you can help out here if you want, but I think the adults have this stage handled. We can come back out when it gets to the fun decorating stage!” Pandora explained, raising her voice so everyone could hear. “So if you’re coming, form an orderly line behind us, and make sure to hold hands with the person in front. Lucy… can you hold on to Susie’s hand?”

Lucy nodded and let go of Pandora, before grabbing my free hand with hers.

“There we go. Meddy? Can you come hold my other hand? I’ll need you to open Mummy’s box for me.”

The girl with the beanie hat walked over and rummaged around Pandora’s bag that was hanging off her shoulder, before pulling out what looked like a tiny little wooden chest. Kinda like the ones you’d see in pirate things, like a treasure chest.

“I thought it was a jar…?” I asked, confused.

“Oh it’s whatever she wants it to look like.” Medusa replied, smiling shyly at me.

“Oh, that’s so cool!”

“Isn’t it just!?” She replied, before realising how loud she was, quickly hiding behind her girlfriend’s arm.

“Right… everyone form a line…” Pandora called out once more as the crowd in front of us halved in seconds, with the half who I assumed were all the ‘babies’ shuffling out and walking behind us. “Meddy… if you would…”

Medusa held the chest up in front of her, away from the crowd, and opened the lid. Suddenly a vortex flew out of the tiny box, swirling around chaotically for a few seconds, before it started to calm. The circular motions it formed started to become more… jagged, more angular, as it started to resemble a large vertical rectangle more than a circle.

A few more seconds of it calming… and suddenly… a door stood there, in the middle of the room…

“Let’s go then, make sure to hold onto your partner’s hands!” Pandora said as she walked towards the door, it opened as she got closer… to reveal…

A pastel-coloured wonderland.

I won't lie... All this talk about monsters and witches and stuff. I couldn't tell if Pandora was a Mummy Mummy or an Egyptian Mummy lol.

Pandora is Pandora! THE Pandora! I guess there are probably some kinds of Egyptian Mummies out there, but they wouldn't have Greek names :P

Woohoo…Luci is in the house! How does that work, I mean, with Death and all? You’re making me rethink how all of that fits together. 🤪

The same way it works in loads of other stories :P Death reaps the departed souls and ferries them to their respective afterlives. Luci is the ruler of one of them. ^_^

We've already seen Luci before... :3 But I guess we only had a little introduction in the previous story.

Chapter 28: The Box

Parum Mortis – LittleFallenPrincess

“And voilà! Welcome to Meddy’s daycare!” Pandora said as we stepped through the door into A WHOLE OTHER FREAKING DIMENSION.

Like… a month ago the biggest fear I had was being late to work, or forgetting to order the spring rolls for Beth. Now I’m literally dead, my girlfriend is a Witch who can cast actual magic, my best friend is an actual vampire, I’m being chased by Death, I’ve met the ACTUAL DEVIL! And I’ve met two of my favourite stories from my childhood, Medusa and Pandora… who ended up being into some pretty freaky kinky stuff, as did my girlfriend and best friend. And now… I’m walking casually into a pocket dimension, something I bet most, if not all, humans have never done before.

And one that looked just like a damn daycare.

Pale yellow walls, dark grey carpet, a big playpen in the corner of the room made up of what I could only assume was the entire colour wheel and then some, a few little plastic tables with various artistic tools sat on top of them, a row of square shelves sticking out into the middle of the room with various boxes full of toys… yeah this was like any other daycare I had seen, though everything was a lot… larger.

Speaking of larger…

My hand was now stretching upwards, instead of horizontally like it had been upon entering, so I followed my arm with my eyes, to see that the person in front who I had been holding hands with… was now a good few feet taller than me, dwarfing me in stature as she turned and looked down, smiling.

“Are you okay? Sorry, it’s a thing about this room. Bigs are… well… big! Babies like you… well you’re tiny… like you should be.” Pandora smiled at me.

“Beth didn’t share that piece of information…” I rolled my eyes.

“I think she wanted you to experience it for yourself. Sorry.”

“It’s… okay.”

Pandora looked up at the rest of the group and put her hands on her hips, letting go of my hand in the process.

“Right… little ones? Go play with whatever you want. You know my rules for this place. And Meddy, Lucy?”

All the people behind us let go of each other’s hands and quickly dispersed around the room, running off to various parts of the daycare.

It didn’t hit me at first… but I now realised they… well they weren’t wearing the same things they came to the hotel in. They looked… like babies. Adult babies. They were wearing outfits much more fitting for this place… so this was yet another thing Beth declined to share.

Medusa and Lucy both turned to Pandora, both of them still holding each other’s hands. Lucy still held onto mine, and Medusa still held on to her Mummy’s. But they… they were wearing very different outfits now. The bell bottom jeans and camisole were replaced with… a footed sleeper. A vibrant-red footed sleeper. And her beanie… was now a baby bonnet. A matching red bonnet.

Lucy… well Lucy was no longer wearing that black skirt or her red top. Instead she was wearing shortalls with a frilly red top under them, her combat boots becoming velcro-strapped babyish trainers.

I… I was too nervous to look at what I was wearing. I never signed up for this. I said I’d give this room a go… to ease into it. I never agreed to let my outfit be changed. I was still getting used to the whole babying thing and the fact I need nappies now… but the baby clothes would need a bit more time.

“Yes Mummy?” Medusa said whilst Lucy responded at the same time but with ‘Auntie Pandy’ instead of Mummy.

“I need you two to show little Susie around and teach her the group rules, okay?”

The pair of them nodded before Meddy grabbed my other hand and they both skipped off, dragging me along with them.

“You’re okay, you know…” Lucy said, stopping in the middle of the daycare.

“What do you mean?” I asked, confused.

“You weren’t changed into anything. I can see how you’re avoiding looking at your outfit, whilst staring at everyone else's.” Lucy said, trying to reassure me.

“Yeah, it only changes you if you want to be. Same goes with height.” Meddy explained.

“But I…”

“Yeah, you’re our height, which means there’s some littleness in you. But you haven’t accepted it yet, hence why you’re still in your normal dungarees.”

“Plus they’re already pretty babyish…” Lucy teased.

“HEY! No they’re not!” I whined, sounding… just like the baby I was sort-of dressed as.

“Yeah… totally… any other woman your age would totally be wearing something like that…” she continued mocking me, trying to hold back her laughter.

“I gotta admit… she’s not wrong.” Medusa added.

“Seriously? You too? My favourite myth?”

“I almost forgot you were human only a month ago. It’s still weird when people call me a myth… it’s like… I’m right here!” Meddy shrugged.

“I know, but humans wouldn’t believe you if you told them.” Lucy replied.

“They would if I showed them what's under my hat… well I guess bonnet now…”

“No doubt, but then they’d try to kill you or lock you up and experiment on you. Humans are nasty.”

“That they are.” Meddy agreed with Lucy.

It may be weird for Medusa to hear humans talk about her as if she’s a myth… it’s even weirder to be talked about as if I wasn’t a human only a month ago. Like… I’m still getting used to this thing, calm down a bit on the anti-human stuff, please!

“What about me?” I asked Lucy.

“You’re different. I’m not saying all humans are bad… but… enough of them are to warrant us being scared of them.”

“Okay… I sort-of understand. I am gay after all.”

“YOU ARE? OH EM GEE. I NEVER WOULD HAVE GUESSED!” Lucy replied in the most sarcastic voice she could muster.

“...Shut up. What do we do now anyway?”

“How about I introduce you to some of my friends?” Meddy suggested.

“I… I’m not great at meeting new people but I guess I really should if I want to be a part of both of Beth’s worlds.”

“Atta girl!” Lucy teased, wrapping her arm around me and escorting me away, following closely behind Medusa.

We walked over to the corner of the room where all the blocks were, where two ‘babies’ were playing together and laughing. A guy and a girl, just acting like… kids? It was weird, but weirdly… wholesome.

“Hey guys!” Meddy called out to them.

“Hey Meddy, thanks for letting us hang out here. It’s much more fun than helping the big ones out there!” The boy said, the young, rough-looking one with shaggy hair and an unshaven face, who wore dungarees and a blue tee.

“It was my Mummy’s idea, you know it’s her box really. But it’s okay, I agree. I’m happy to help with this big project thingy Auntie Beth has come up with, but I wasn’t expecting to do all the heavy lifting and stuff.”

“Do… Do you all call her Auntie Beth?” I interrupted.

“Oh yes!” The girl on the floor said. She looked to be a natural redhead with beautiful blue eyes and a face that would rival any model you see in magazines or on TV. Her gorgeous red hair was tied up into two large pigtails, her outfit was very… not babyish, which stood out more amongst the sea of onesies and dungarees. Instead, her clothes had transformed into a cute little blue dress that stopped half way down her nappy, as I could see the bottom of her padding peeking out below the hemline. “Oh sorry, you’re the new girl, Auntie Beth’s girlfriend, aren’t you?”

“I… yeah… and you are?”

“I’m Abby, and this monster here is Grim.”

“Oh…” I replied.

“Ah… my reputation has spread already…” Grim grinned as he stacked a block on top of his little tower, before quickly knocking it down.

“I…”

“Go on… what were you told?” He asked.

“Just… to be careful… apparently you’re a handful.” I said, shyly.

Grim grinned proudly, as if he had accomplished what he had set out to do.

“Ignore him. He’s a pushover really. All noise and no action.” Abby said, rolling her eyes at the guy.

“Hi… I’m Lucy…” A quiet voice beside me said.

“OH hey! It’s nice to finally meet you! I’ve seen you in the community before, but you’re always so… shut off and shy.” Abby said, talking to Lucy who was half-hiding behind me, gripping on to my sides for dear life.

“Yeah… she’s a shy person.” I explained.

“Never heard of a shy vampire.” Grim shrugged. “Makes you more interesting!”

Lucy’s grip on me loosened as she slowly edged out from behind me.

“Do you three want to play?” Abby offered.

“No thanks, though maybe once we’re done with the tour.” Meddy replied.

“Ah yeah, good idea. Well it was nice meeting you, undead girl.” Grim grinned at me.

As we walked away, being shuffled away by Meddy, I turned to Lucy.

“So… you’ve never talked to them before? I thought you were big in this community?” I whispered.

“Who told you that?” She whispered back.

“I just assumed from everyone talking…”

“A few bigs know me. And Meddy. That’s about it. I’m… look, you know how bad I was at uni? It’s been like that. I tend to keep to myself most of the time.”

“Really?”

“Really.”

“Oh hun… well I’m here now. Maybe we can get you to come out of your shell. Seems this introduction is as much for you as it is for me.”

“I guess… maybe…”

“Can I ask… what are those two?”

“Oh you mean what kind of…”

“Yeah.”

“I think the guy is a werewolf. Though I have no idea if that’s actually true. I just assumed, based on appearances. I have no idea what that ‘Abby’ is.”

“She’s a kitsune.” Meddy stopped and turned to face us. She had clearly been able to hear us the whole time.

“A kitsune? What’s that?” I asked.

“A shapeshifting fox creature from Japanese folklore. Yeah, I know she doesn’t look it, but apparently her family has ties back there many generations ago. Great great grandmother or something, who was a Japanese kitsune, fell in love with an Irish guy over here, at least that’s what she told us.”

“You know everyone, Meddy. You’re always so popular.” Lucy sighed.

“I’m just not scared to talk to people. You need to open up, Luce. Oh and yes, Grim is short for Grimfang, and he’s a werewolf. Both of them joined around the same time not that long ago, so they kinda bonded over being the newbies. They’re slowly making friends with the others, but they mostly keep to themselves. I heard they’re planning on moving in together.”

“Really? They didn’t look… close.” I said.

“Oh they’re not dating. Grim is gay for one thing. And Abby is seeing a few people right now. They just… look, it’s expensive to live this close to the centre of the city, and it’s getting more expensive, so they’re trying to get a place together to make it cheaper for them.”

“Makes sense.”

“Right, let’s get going, there's a dozen or so of us left to introduce, then you can actually try being one of us!”

We then proceeded to be dragged around the daycare, being introduced to the other ten or twelve people. I can’t remember how many, I can barely remember their names. I was still a bit… weirded out. They all acted so… normal. Yet there were creatures of all sorts just sitting there, in thick nappies and babyish outfits… playing with toys.

Names and numbers, I don’t remember. But the types… I do.

I mean there was even a fucking ghost! A GHOST! WHAT THE FUCK? HOW DOES A GHOST EVEN WEAR… OR USE… I…

It was all a bit too much for me, and Medusa could apparently see that, because she grabbed my hand and pulled me off towards the front of the room, where Pandora sat watching everyone.

“Mummy?” She asked, stopping just in front of the desk.

“Yes baby?” Pandora responded.

“I think Susie is a bit… overwhelmed.”

“I can see that, it’s plastered all over her face. How are you doing too, Lucy?” She asked Luce, who was gripping my other hand tightly.

Lucy didn’t say a word, she just nodded.

“A new girl and a socially anxious one. Yeah, I should have seen this. Well I’m proud of you both for trying so hard, okay? You did super well and you deserve a sticker!”

Pandora opened a drawer on her desk and pulled out a sheet of stickers, gold stars from what I could tell. Taking one on the tip of her finger, she reached over the desk and pressed it against my chest, sticking the star onto my dungarees. Pandora then did the same for Lucy, whose face turned red.

“Fank you…” Lucy and I said, at the same time.

“You’re very welcome, sweethearts. Now… How are you feeling? Do you need a break?”

“I… I wouldn’t mind one, thanks. It’s… a lot. The baby stuff, the… types of people like you… I mean… us.” I was still getting my head round the fact I was one of them now. Not human. Not anymore.

“I know, sweetie. It’s a lot to take in. It’s okay though. Do you want to sit in the quiet corner for a bit, or do you want me to get your Mummy… I mean, girlfriend?”

“I…”

I didn’t know what to do. I wanted to leave, because I missed Beth, and I also wanted time to process this stuff… but I also knew this was probably good for Lucy, as awkward as she’s feeling. So I turned to her and raised my eyebrow, trying to ask her what she wanted to do without actually saying anything.

“I think… the quiet corner would be good…” She said, surprising me. I wasn’t expecting her to answer at all, and here she was voicing what she wanted.

“Okay sweeties. Right, Meddy? You can go play now, thank you for doing such a good job showing these two around. You’ll get a gold star on your chart when we get home.”

Medusa jumped up and down excitedly as she rushed off to the corner to play with Abby and Grim, who were still playing with blocks.

Pandora looked at us both, before slowly standing up, towering over us with her newfound height, and walked around the desk.

Without saying a word, without asking, she reached down and grabbed the both of us in one swoop of each arm, cradling us both at the same time as she then proceeded to carry us off into the corner of the room that was currently deserted.

Honestly had dreams as a kid of having an extra-dimensional room just like this. A place where the world couldn’t burst in and bother me. A place where whatever I imagined took place. Still have a deep emotional connection to those times. When I “go to my happy place” to unwind a bit, that’s it. No noise. No idiots. Just soft, quiet spaces with no pressure.

Interesting I wonder what it would do with a Middle like me? Take a few inches to a foot off? 🤔 Maybe make my wardrobe like something from Justice? Whelp hot-topic so I guess not a lot would change clothes wise for me. 😅😆🤷‍♀️🙈💀

Chapter 29: Timeout

Parum Mortis – LittleFallenPrincess

I felt so small as I was carried over by the enormous woman.

That’s not a bad thing. Not a good thing either. It was just… interesting.

Lucy, from the looks of it, was enjoying it a lot more than I was, as her face was stuck with this huge smile plastered across her face as she was cradled in Pandora’s other arm.

“Right, you two, take as much time as you need, okay? I know this is a lot for you to take in, Susie. First your death, then this kink, and now you’re meeting all these other species of us… it’s a lot to process. If you need me, for whatever reason, even if it’s just to ask some questions about either world, just call me over, okay sweetie?”

I nodded and blushed as she carefully sat me down on the floor, along with Lucy, in an empty, soft playmat area in the corner of the room, before waving goodbye and walking back off to her desk.

Looking around, I saw that we were surrounded by stuffed animals and cushions and just lots of soft things. There was even a bit of a blanket fort behind us, made of wooden sticks and cotton sheets.

“Do… you wanna go in there?” Lucy asked, pointing at the fort.

“I… yeah… sure.” I replied, shrugging. I was just happy to be somewhere quiet after meeting so many people.

We both got to our hands and knees and started crawling inside the blanket fort, before twisting our bodies and plopping our padded butts down on the soft interior flooring, which looked like a rug.

“Are you okay, Luce?” I asked her, taking her hand and cosying up next to her.

“Am I okay? I should be asking you! You’re the one who has been thrust into all this in a matter of days! It was decades after I realised I was into this before I saw this place, or even a nursery for that matter. You… you found out practically a few days ago, because we’re not counting the time you were under that spell. And now here you are, looking fucking adorable, sitting in a thick nappy, and cuddled in a blanket fort in Pandora’s daycare.”

“Yeah but you’re the one who is anxious around people. I’m not that bad.”

“True, but these aren’t normal people. Not human people anyway. So it’s a lot for you!”

“I have to ask though, what do you usually do at these get-togethers? You seem to know the ‘adults’, but you don’t know…” I started pointing at random ‘babies’ that were dotted around the daycare, all having fun by the looks of it.

“I… I’m just as bad as I was at University. I know Pandora, I know Beth, I know a few other bigs who have talked to me… but I don’t know any other babies.”

“You know Medusa!”

“Yeah… but we’re not that close. She… Well, everyone loves her. She’s so friendly with everyone. But she never gets any closer than that. Well, unless you count Pandora. Meddy knows all the littles, she’s really friendly with them, but she… she doesn’t really hang out with them outside of events or being little. She doesn’t even come to munches, she just goes to the main events we have.”

“That sounds lonely.” I commented.

“Really?” Lucy asked, seeming shocked by this.

“Yeah… she knows all these people, she’ll play with them… but it doesn’t sound like she’s close with any of them. It must be lonely.” I commented.

“I… guess. I always just felt too jealous to think of it that way.”

“Jealous?” I tilted my head at my best friend.

“Well she’s so loved. She’s adorable. She has this cool Mummy who loves her to bits…” Lucy started venting, but she put a little too much emphasis when talking about Medusa having a Mummy.

“Ah. You want a Mummy…”

“I… well… yeah… m… m… maybe…” Lucy began stammering.

“It’s okay! You’re allowed to want that. I know I’m new to this whole thing, but I can see why you’d want one. I always took it for granted all the ‘adulting’ that Beth did for me. And now I understand why she always acted like a Mum, taking control and sorting everything out for me. I can see why you’d want that.”

“It’s more than that. It’s the connection… the bond… having that person who allows you to be your complete self with no judgement. That person who loves you unconditionally and will protect you…”

“I…”

I didn’t know what to say. She wasn’t wrong. The way Meddy and Pandora look at each other… It was similar to the way Beth and I look at each other. Like… we were meant to be. That… we weren’t two parts of a jigsaw that completed when we got together… but more that we were two complete jigsaws that worked much better side by side. Like a ‘bigger picture is even better’ kind of deal.

But now… I felt bad. Because I had been who I thought I was, I was my complete self, or at least I thought so at the time… but this entire time I was keeping Beth from being her complete self… from being a Mummy.

Maybe I didn’t deserve her.

Maybe she’d be better off with someone like Lucy, who actually wants a Mummy.

I mean… sure, I kinda like the way Beth talks to me as a Mummy, I like how loved and protected I feel when she’s caring for me. But… I’m not like Lucy. I wasn’t even part of this ‘monster world’ until a month ago, and even then it feels like it was only a few days ago. I’m not a baby, I’m not even particularly kinky. The most we’ve tried is a bit of rope in bed, which I must admit… was fun… but not something I fantasise about.

Am I holding Beth back?

Should I break up with her so she can find an adult baby of her own?

I know I’m enjoying it right now… but I’m mostly just trying this baby stuff for her… to make her happy…

“Earth to Susan…”

I was snapped out of my own thoughts by Lucy’s cute face popping up in front of mine.

“Huh?”

“I saw that face.” She gave me a sly leer.

“What face?”

“You were doubting everything. Questioning yourself. Spiralling.”

“I… no… shush! What makes you think that?” I asked, defensively.

“Because that’s the face you always pull when you do this. Plus you kinda went silent for a couple of minutes as you stared at the floor.”

“I… Do I always do that?”

“Yup. Whenever you start doubting yourself and trying to second guess your choices. You try to convince yourself to back out of stuff and you get that look on your face…”

“Since when?”

“Since forever. Remember when you and Beth started dating? You were sure you weren’t good enough for her. So you had that same look on your face and eventually tried backing out. If it wasn’t for me pushing you… you’d be single right now.”

“I… maybe you should have let me do it.” I sighed.

“The fuck?” Lucy said… a little too loud.

“Language…” Pandora warned from the other side of the room as all the other babies stared at us.

“Sorry!” Lucy called out, her face turning red again. Turning back to face me, she quickly lowered her volume a bit before continuing. “I mean… the fuck?”

“If I didn’t date her, I wouldn’t have died, wouldn’t have… wouldn’t have caused all this. She could have found someone like you…”

“But she didn’t want any of us. She wanted you. Do you know how many of the single littles here…. Of which most of us are… want her to be our Mummy? She’s so soft, so kind, so nurturing and maternal… she brings out everyone’s baby sides so easily and softly. Everyone here has a massive crush on her, me included. But she doesn’t want any of us. She wants you.”

“But I’m not even a baby…”

“You sure whine like one…” Lucy grinned.

“Oi!”

“I’m serious though, you whine like one, act like one, brat like one… it’s why I introduced you two to each other. That and Beatrice had one of her hunches when I mentioned you for the first time.”

“She… did?”

“Yeah. You and Beth are perfect for each other. And you may not think it right now, but you’re more like me than you think. You already use your nappies like a champ!”

“I can’t help that…”

“Yeah but you do it so stylishly!” Lucy laughed, setting me off laughing with her.

“Shut up!” I whined between laughs.

“Seeeriously, babe, you’re fine. You’re not instantly repulsed by all this stuff. You’re trying stuff for her. And hey, even if by some very low chance you’re not into this… she’ll still love you all the same. I swear… if these stupid humans allowed two gals to get married, she would have asked you already!”

“Wha… really?”

“Well obviously! And you didn’t hear it from me… but I think that now you’re part of our world… the supernatural one, not the nappy-wearing one, she may still propose…”

“I… what? I’m confused.”

“She hasn’t told me, but I’ve got the feeling she’s just been waiting to introduce you into this world so she could propose to you…”

“But… like you said, humans don’t…”

“Exactly. Humans don’t. But we’re not human. We have our own laws. Sure, you won’t be legally married in the human world… but we’ve allowed queer love in our world for… well… forever! Anyone can marry anyone. And I bet it’s just a matter of time before she proposes to you…”

“You think she will?”

“Now that you’re one of us, yeah! And that’s not dependent on you being into this kink of ours either, she’ll probably propose whether you’re into it or not.”

“But that’s not fair…”

“No, you know what’s not fair? Her not getting a drawing from you when you go back out to the hotel.”

“I… wait, what?” I asked, taken aback by this sudden change in direction.

“Come on…” Lucy said, shuffling out the blanket fort, climbing to her feet and holding out her hand.

I followed Lucy across the huge daycare, towards the tables with a red chequered tablecloth. Two of the four chairs were occupied at it, so Lucy quickly grabbed the two free chairs and pulled them away so we had a little bit of privacy at the end of the table, away from the two girls busy working on something.

“Come on… sit.”

I did as she said and sat my padded butt down on the chair as Lucy reached over to the centre of the table and grabbed some pencils, some crayons and some felt tip pens, along with a few sheets of paper from the pile of supplies. Handing me a few pieces of paper, and putting the pens and pencils and crayons in the middle of us, she nodded down towards my paper.

“What?” I asked.

“You really are a baby… look…” Lucy said, reaching over and shoving her hand… down the front pocket of my dungarees.

“What are you doing in there?”

“It’s Beth… I bet she’s… aha!” Lucy said, pleasantly surprised as she pulled something out of my front pocket.

“What… what the hell did…?”

Before I could finish that question, Lucy shoved something in my mouth.

“I knew she’d have put one somewhere for you, just in case…” Lucy smirked.

I grabbed what was in my mouth and pulled it out to find… It was a dummy. A baby’s dummy. But one large enough for an adult.

“But… how did…?”

“She’s a sneaky one. But she always makes sure you’ve got what you need.”

“I…”

“Go on, try it. Whilst you draw something.”

“But I can’t draw…”

“So? That’s the point. The more childish it looks, the cuter it is and the more your girlfriend will love it. So draw whatever you want. Let your headspace run wild. And try it with that dummy in your mouth.”

“Are… are you sure?”

“Yeah! Trust me, if you don’t enjoy this… I don’t know what you will enjoy. And if you go back and give your Mummy a cute, babyish drawing you did for her… you’ll make her heart melt quicker than ice cream in the sun.”

“I… really?”

“Trust me.”

Yeah. Trust her. It wasn’t that hard… right? Just suck on this dummy… draw something cute for Beth… let go…

Taking a deep breath, I opened my mouth and popped the dummy back in. Suckling at it for a few seconds, I could feel my body relaxing as the world around me just… blurred. I didn’t care about all the other people that could see me like this, I didn’t care how weird this may be. I… this felt… relaxing… it felt right…

“Atta girl!” Lucy cheered, before pulling out a dummy of her own, opening her mouth to show her fangs, and popping it in. “Now dwaw!” She said, with a very obvious… but very adorable… lisp.

Chapter 30: Next Stage

Parum Mortis – LittleFallenPrincess

I waddled over to the door with my childish drawing in hand, waiting for Pandora to open it and let us out.

One of the other bigs had come in and said they had finished stage one, so we could come out and help now, which was just around the time I finished the drawing I did for Mu… umm.. Beth.

“She’s gonna love it…” Lucy whispered in my ear as she stood next to me, her arm linked around mine.

Slowly opening the door, Pandora moved out of the way as a bunch of people rushed past me and through the door, excitedly.

“Come on, let’s go see what the grown ups have done!” Lucy said, nudging me a bit and dragging me off quickly to the door-portal-thing.

To say the place had been improved would have been an understatement.

Like… I was expecting maaaaaybe in the relatively short amount of time we spent in that dimension box thing, they would have maaaaaaybe cleared the wrecked furniture and stuff.

But no.

Now don’t get me wrong, it was still bare bones, but it looked… almost new.

All the wrecked furniture was gone. The counter by the wall had been ripped out. The floorboards were cleared AND cleaned. The cobwebs were all gone. Everything looked… spotless. The walls had been stripped of their old-timey wallpaper, everything was just… so… clean.

Like it went from ‘haunted house’ to ‘ready to decorate’ in no time!

“How…?” I said out loud, just as I caught Beth in the corner of my eye walking over to us, hurriedly.

“Do you like it?” She asked, excited and hopeful.

“I… how did you…”

“Magic and supernatural strength. Together it makes a force to be reckoned with. And all the other abilities our other caregivers have. So… do you like?” She asked again.

“It… looks amazing!”

“And we haven’t even started decorating yet!”

“Is…”

“The whole hotel is like this. Every room, every nook and cranny… all clear, spotless and clean, ready to decorate as soon as we’re ready. So…”

“I like it!”

“Eeeee! I’m so glad! I know this is for everyone… but I want you to feel comfortable in your new home.” Beth smiled at me.

‘Home…’ it was only just hitting me now that this was our new home. Like… we weren’t going to live at our current address anymore.

“What are you doing about our house?” I asked her.

“Selling it, obviously. It’s no longer protected from Death, and now there’s a hunter on the loose looking for Lucy here, we can’t go back except to quickly pick stuff up. Although I spoke to Dave and a couple of others here and they said they’d happily go and pack everything up of ours and bring it here for us. They’re professionals, don’t worry, they do this for a living.”

“Except they’re dead…” Lucy grinned at her terrible joke.

“Yeah, well Dave is. Ghost and all. But even then… Lucy, I didn’t think you’d stoop so low…” Beth rolled her eyes.

“I…” was all I could get out. This was a lot more to process on top of everything else, but no… I trusted Beth. We were in danger and she knew how to protect us. She’s even got the freaking Devil to help, so I’m sure she’s got everything handled. Maybe… maybe it’d be fun living in a penthouse of a hotel-slash-daycare-slash-nightclub-slash-whatever Beth decides this is in the future.

“So… decorating.” Beth said, stepping up to me and looking down. “Oh… what’s that?”

I looked down to see her pointing at my picture that I was holding to my chest.

“Oh this? I… did this… for you…” I said, nervously handing her the sheet of paper with my crudely drawn picture of the two of us on a date in the park.

I looked up to see tears in her eyes.

“I… I’m sorry… I didn’t mean…”

Beth didn’t say a word, she just wrapped her arms around me and gave me the biggest hug she’s ever given me. And that’s saying something, she’s definitely a hugger, I get multiple hugs per day from her usually. This one though… this one was the best one I’d ever received from her.

I just stood there, my arms half wrapped around her, as she cried into my shoulder. This went on for a few moments before she pulled back only slightly, looked me in the eyes and quickly kissed my lips.

“I love it baby, thank you!” She said, pulling back further and wiping her tears with her free hand, the one not holding my drawing.

“I… I’m glad. I… umm…”

“I’m okay, don’t worry about me baby. I’ve dreamt of this for… forever really.” She smiled at me, her eyes still tearing up a bit.

“I’m glad you like it. It was… fun.”

“Oh yes, how was it in there?” She asked me.

“Illuminating…” I said, being intentionally vague. I didn’t want to accidentally reveal the whole proposal stuff that Lucy discussed with me… or the brief moment of doubt I had about my whole relationship.

“Did you like it?”

“I didn’t hate it…”

“Well that’s a start. Was it a bit overwhelming?”

“...Yeah. A lot of new people and a very visually overwhelming setting… it’s not like the nursery at home…”

“Maybe we’ll start you off smaller then, in your brand new nursery.”

“So we’re definitely building one?”

“If that’s what you want?”

“I…” I looked up into her beautiful eyes and knew… that it was worth the effort. Even if I’m not into this stuff, it’ll make her happy for a bit, and it’s not like decorating and furnishing an entire nursery is difficult for these people, with their resources and abilities… I can’t see it taking long to do this whole place in no time.

“I can see you’re not totally sold on it yet, don’t worry. I’ve planned for it but we’ll do that bit last, so you’ve got plenty of time to change your mind. And hey, if you change your mind at any point, whether we put it in or not, we can always add or remove it if needed. Okay baby?”

“I… thanks. I appreciate it.”

“Shhh… come here…”

She put her hands up on either side of my jaw, cupping it slightly as she leant in and kissed my lips gently.

“I love you. And I want you to be comfortable and never make you feel like you’re being forced to do this.”

I blushed and tried looking away. I really did appreciate her being so thoughtful and understanding. I just wish… like I’m not not into this stuff, okay? I will admit… maybe I like some of it. I just… it’s been like two or three days now? And a lot has happened. Apart from that tiny bit on her lap earlier, we’ve not really got a chance to try this together. The daycare box room thing doesn’t count as she wasn’t there with me, and it’s definitely something I’d prefer to explore with her.

But as she looked down at me with those beautiful emerald eyes of hers, I felt something within me…

“I wuv you too…” I said in a slightly babyish voice.

I had to. I just had to do it that way.

And it was worth it. That smile on her face…

…Priceless.

“Oi, lovebirds!” Beatrice shouted over.

Quickly looking to see what she was wanting, we saw her waving over from where the counter used to be.

Reaching down and taking my hand, Beth smiled at me before guiding me over to her sister. Along the way, I only just realised that Lucy’s outfit changed back to her normal one. It must have happened as soon as she walked through the door. I was too busy looking at the drastic change the hotel had gone through to notice at the time, especially given the fact my outfit still stayed the same.

“What’s up, sis?” Beth asked Bea.

“So this is the bar area, right?” Bea replied.

“Yeah.”

“How are we going to decorate it?”

“Long bar running the length of the wall. Booths. Dancefloor. Typical nightclub. I know it’s been a decade or two since we went to one, and disco is dead now, but I think something like that.

“That’s not a decorating idea, that’s furnishing. What theme are you wanting? Colours?”

“I think I can help with that…” A booming voice rang through the room.

“What the fu…?” I was cut off as I saw a large figure walk over, before just standing there, just… standing there… posing.

“Aegir?” Beatrice called out in surprise, before running over and hugging the mysterious figure. “When the hell did you get back into town?”

I tugged at Beth’s arm, signalling to her that I needed her.

“Yes baby?” She whispered down to me.

“Who… who dat?”

“That’s Aegir, sweetie.”

“Who’s Aegir?”

“Norse God.”

I looked at this ‘Norse God’ and… he looked like any ordinary man. Quite muscular, and whilst he wore a perfectly tailored three piece suit, you could tell by his build that he rocked some impressive physique underneath it. Chiselled jaw, perfectly trimmed goatee, silver hair… he was gorgeous. Not my type, but still… impressive.

“God of what?”

“Parties, little one!” The strange God turned to me and smiled, laughing heartily. “You must be this legendary Susan I’ve been told about, the one who stole my love’s heart!”

“Your love?”

Beth sighed, before putting her hand to her face in disbelief.

“I’m not your love, you moron. You just want what you can’t have. You know I’ve no interest in you.”

“Haha, one day I shall win your heart!” He laughed again, sounding so confident it was starting to make me sick.

“God of… parties?” I asked, trying to change the awkward subject.

“Yes! And as the God of parties…”

“One of them…” Beth corrected him. I even knew there were a lot of Gods in ancient mythology that loved parties and alcohol.

That put a sour face on the ‘God of Parties’ in an instant.

“Yes… whatever… as one of the Gods of parties… I think I’m best qualified for the nightclub area at least. Let me design it!”

“You… want to design our nightclub?” Beth asked, looking suspiciously at the ‘God’.

“I’ve been visiting so many over the past decade, and I want to try my hand at creating one myself! I’ve hosted many parties during my existence, but never actually created a nightclub. Please, let me do it, fair maiden!”

“Fine, as long as you stop calling me ‘fair maiden’. And stop creeping on me. And make sure it’s era-appropriate. And…”

“Don’t you worry my lo… I mean… Elizabeth, I will create a design so wondrous that even you, the ice queen, will be impressed!” Aegir announced, before striking a pose and walking off.

I was just about to say something to Beth, when she rolled her eyes.

“Don’t. Don’t even ask. He’s a Daddy… and currently doesn’t have a little.” You could sense the frustration in her voice.

“He doesn’t? But what about…?” Beatrice was about to ask Beth something but was quickly cut off.

“They dumped him on their travels. I was dreading he would turn up today, I was hoping he was still moping about in Norway.”

Bea bent down and whispered in my ear. “He’s had a thing for my sis ever since she started attending her adult baby events. He’s always been a bit of a creep, but harmless. He does know parties though… so he’s probably our best choice for designing this place down here.”

That’s when Pandora walked over.

“Oh hey Pandy…” Bea waved, standing up straight as she greeted the other mythological being I had met. Three in one day… AND the Devil… this was getting a bit too much.

“Hey, I saw Aegir saying he’ll design the bar. Don’t worry, we’ll chip in our ideas too so he doesn’t make a mess of it. But if you’re letting him help…”

“What is it, Pandora?” Beth replied, sounding more and more frustrated.

“I know she’s not into this thing we’re into, but I have a friend of a friend who could help out with the hotel or hostel or whatever the rooms are going to be.”

“Who?”

“Hestia.”

“Wait, I know that name! Greek God!” I spoke up, proud of myself for remembering her, but now suddenly feeling really embarrassed by bringing so much attention to myself as everyone was now looking at me.

“Such a clever girl!” Pandora praised me, making my tummy feel all wibbly again. “But yes, Hestia, being the Goddess of hospitality and home and all that…”

“Fine. Whatever. Call her. I’ll let you design all this down here then.” Beth snapped, turning around and walking off towards the stairs at the back, breaking contact with my hand in the process, before walking off, up the stairs, out of view.

“What’s her deal?” Pandora replied.

“Look, you go call Hestia then. See if she’ll help. Lucy, do you mind helping keep Aegir in check?” Beatrice asked.

“Oh, me?” Lucy finally spoke up. She had been hovering in the background as everyone else talked, too shy to speak up or contribute.

“Please, sweetie? I need someone I trust to rein in his ‘creativity’. He’s good an all… but he can go a bit too far.”

“Fine… but you owe me.”

“Ice cream later?” Bea suggested, with a huge grin on her face.

That made Lucy perk right up, her anxious frown turning into the biggest smile I had seen on her in a while, before she nodded and ran off in the direction Aegir went.

“Right… that was easy. Pandora, you go call Hestia, I need to talk to Susie for a minute.”

“Okay, well have fun!” Pandora replied, walking off.

Beatrice put her arm around me and walked off towards the stairs, stopping at the bottom step.

“First things first, are you okay sweetie?” She asked calmly.

“Yeah. I… wasn’t expecting to meet so many freaking GODS though!”

“I know, I have a lot of… friends. So does your girlfriend. There are only a few in this community though, most are just friends or friends of friends.”

“Still… the actual Devil, a Norse God, two Greek mythological figures I admired as a kid, and now a Greek Goddess! Like… what next?”

“Don’t open that can of beans, sweetie. Let me introduce you to the rest of our world slowly. I know all sorts. Gods, monsters, mythological figures… a lot of them owe me favours.”

“How do you know so many? And why do they owe you favours?” I gave her an accusatory glare.

“Kinda answered your own question, kiddo.”

I blushed as she called me that childish term. I couldn’t believe the effect all these cute pet names were having on me, let alone all the teasing and treating me like a child.

“So you helped them all out, and now they owe you?”

“Bingo. It’s the best way to make lots of friends, and gain a lot of power.”

“Power? Is that what you want?”

“Think of me kind of like an information broker. But instead of information, I deal in favours.”

“I thought that was the Devil’s thing?”

“Who do you think taught me? When she ended up owing me a favour, she was cursing me for a month! But right, no, what I need to talk to you about is important. I need to ask you a favour.”

“What is it?” I asked.

“Go look after my sister?”

“What’s going on with her? She seemed… upset.”

“You know how she is. Loves being in control. Loving but controlling, she always has been, ever since we were kids. And she’s clearly had this idea for a long time, and she’s finally been given the opportunity to create this kind of place and…”

“All the decisions and choices and planning are being taken away from her?”

“She put on a brave face when you came out, but whilst you were gone… she was being overruled by Pandora and a few of the other caregivers. I tried to say something but…”

“But she’s gone into one of her ‘withdraw from the world and isolate completely’ moods?”

I knew them well. And usually only I could get her out of them.

“Exactly. So can… can you go talk to her, try to help her?”

“I would’ve done that anyway, you didn’t need to ask, you know. She’s my girlfriend…”

“I know, but I was wondering… maybe you suggest that you two, and only you two, work on your penthouse. I know she’s going to be upset that the rest of the place is being designed by others, even if they are more experienced with this kind of thing, so she needs something she can control, something she can focus on.”

“And you think our new penthouse, our new home… is that project?”

“I think so.”

“Yeah, I think that’s a good idea. I’ll give it a go.”

“Have you decided about the nursery yet?”

“I…”

To be truthful, I hadn’t. But I knew that if we design a nursery together, Beth will perk right up. It’ll make her happy. Especially if we work together to design and build it. Magic and strength. Beth and me. It’s perfect.

And I’m not going to lie… I was starting to think that maybe… just maybe… this kind of thing… may actually be something I’d be into.

*peeks out from under his blanket fort*.

Hello Princess.

Surprising, but I'm still alive.

I'll be honest I'm in training to be a tax official in Germany and to say it's difficult would be an understatement (cries at the thought of only 4-5 hours sleep at times).

I have lost sight of the story and that is what annoys me the most.

In return I have now been able to re-read over 10 chapters and have enjoyed each one.

I love how many people Beth seems to know and especially how powerful many of them are.

I would kill for such a pocket dimension but mine would need a feature that no matter how long I was there in the real world no time would have passed and also for me time would stand still so I wouldn't get older.

And a mommy to take care of me, just a person who makes sure I get enough sleep, eat healthy and maybe remember to shower.

And I could take all the time in the world to do my homework and study.

Oh how handy that would be during exams.

I read the questions, go to the toilet and then to the dimension, look for the answers and get everything right.

Sorry I'm rambling,

I love this story, I'm glad it's still going on and I'm looking forward to more chapters.

Chapter 31: Penthouse

Parum Mortis – LittleFallenPrincess

“I’ll go talk to her, don’t worry. Not looking forward to all those stairs though…” I said, shrugging and sighing.

“The elevators are fixed.” Beatrice replied.

“Wait… what? When? How?”

“About an hour ago. Working as good as new. We have an engineer and a mechanic in the group.”

“But how so quickly?”

“We aren’t human. We get shit done.” Beatrice laughed.

I… really underestimated their ability to fix up this hotel. When Beth was talking about completely fixing and renovating this dump, I was thinking it’d take like half a year, maybe a year, maybe even two! But at the speed they are going… it’ll probably be done in like two days! I guess it helps having a Mu… a Mumm… a girlfriend who can cast freaking magic.

“Why did Beth take the stairs then?”

“She prefers the stairs.”

“I…” Yeah, she was right, Beth would often suggest taking the stairs over the elevators whenever we went anywhere together. I was always a bit too nervous to ask if it’s a fear of them or just a general dislike or whatever, but still… this was a pretty tall building. She’s going to be exhausted by the time she reaches the top.

“If you go now, you’ll beat her to the top…” Beatrice nudged me.

So I ran over to the elevator and started frantically pressing the button, hoping that somehow the mechanical object would decide to go even faster, knowing my haste.

It did not.

After what felt like forever, both waiting for it to start and then ascending up the building in this small, dingy metal box, I finally reached the top floor. As the door opened up to reveal a large, barren corridor… The only splash of colour in this dull scene of brown and white was my girlfriend, stomping off towards the only room in the distance.

“Beth!” I called out, rushing out of the elevator.

“Huh?” She quickly turned around and revealed her very sour face, which quickly turned sweet and smiley as soon as she saw that it was me. “Oh hey baby! What… what are you doing here?”

“You wanted to work on the penthouse apartment together, right?”

“Yeah I… wait, did my sister suggest you come chase after me?”

“I… umm…”

“She did.” She sighed.

“Look, we’re all concerned.”

“All?”

“Beatrice and me. And probably Lucy.”

“I’m fine. But thank you, I appreciate it.”

“You don’t look fine. I haven’t seen you this upset in… well… I can’t remember if I’ve ever seen you this upset.”

“I said I’m fine.” She snapped, making me withdraw a bit.

“You don’t sound it either…”

She took one long sigh, then turned and walked to the door, before opening it and walking in, leaving it open for me… I assume. So I quickly rushed in and closed the door behind me, before turning around to see…

‘Wow…’

This penthouse was huge! Like… as big as the nightclub downstairs! There was a tiled area where a kitchen obviously once stood, there were a few doors off to either side, and the main room had one massive feature that I instantly fell in love with.

I stared at the large window that spanned the whole angular, elevated ceiling. Like… this was as big as a wall, kind of like those loft conversions some more middle-class people have, but instead of the angled ceiling with small windows here and there, this was… mostly window. Tiled rectangular panes of glass covered the whole angled part of the ceiling, with a bit of a flat part at the top that was just brickwork.

And looking out through the enormous window… was the perfect, most romantic view of the city.

“I…” I was speechless.

“Surprise…” Beth said in a very snarky, pissed off ‘ta da’ way.

“It’s beautiful.”

“Isn’t it just?” She sighed.

“What’s up?” I asked, trying to steer back to the reason I chased after her.

“I said I’m fine.”

“You’re clearly not.”

Walking over to the window ledge underneath the huge angled glass ceiling, Beth sat down in a huff.

“I’ve had dreams of having a place like this for years.”

“And now everyone’s taking over and making decisions for you?” I said, walking over and sitting down next to her.

“Exactly! It was to be our project, our new home, our sanctuary. But now you’ve got that jerk Aegir designing my nightclub, Hestia is coming over to do all the rooms… I’m stuck with my apartment.”

Our apartment…” I corrected her.

That seemed to perk her up a bit.

“So…?”

“Yeah. I like it. I could see us living here. It’ll be sad to say goodbye to the old house, but not sad to say goodbye to sneaking around, pretending to be housemates and not girlfriends.” I admitted.

“It was getting a bit hard to explain how close we were around our neighbours…” She laughed.

“Look, we’ll design this ourselves, we’ll create our perfect nursery, and we’ll move in and live happily ever after…”

“You say nursery, however… I sense a ‘but’ coming.” She said, sounding worried.

I giggled. I shouldn’t have.

“Are you seriously laughing at the word ‘but’?” The corner of her mouth raised at the same time as her eyebrow did, all whilst looking at me, unimpressed by my childish humour. “Yeah… you’re a baby, called it.”

So I did what came natural… I stuck my tongue out at her.

“BUT!” I giggled again. “You need to go down there and show them who’s boss.”

“But they’re right, they know how to design…”

“I DON’T CARE!” I groaned directly in her face.

“You’re lucky I love you, otherwise you’d be right over my knee…”

“I’ll have to up my game then…” I grinned up at her, lustfully.

“Is that a threat?” She grinned back.

“It’s a… promise. But no kinky shit until you’ve gone downstairs and told them what YOU want!”

“What about you?” She asked.

“This isn’t my dream! I’ll happily work with you to design our apartment and nursery, but you’re the one who wanted this sanctuary for everyone. You’re the one with the dream. I’m happy to throw in my opinions, but you’re the one who should design and plan the rest of the hotel.”

“I…”

“Look, you’re supposed to be the one who takes charge of this ‘community’ or whatever it is, right? You’re the one organising events, even when you didn’t have a baby of your own at the time. These jerks need to listen to you. You’re the one doing the nice thing for all of them, it’s only right they listen to what you want. So take control! It’s what you do best!”

“But… I thought you wanted to get started on this apartment?” She asked.

“I do! But this can wait. I… can wait.”

“What are you going to do whilst I’m downstairs, telling them all off?”

“I’ll try to ‘visualise the space’ or whatever bullshit it is that decorators say.”

Language…

I wasn’t expecting that. And honestly… I don’t think my body was, as I squirmed in my wet nappy.

And yes, I was wet. It’s been hours. I have no control anymore. Of course I’m freaking wet. WHEN AM I NOT?

“Do you need a change?” She asked.

“Are you fucking psychic?” I blurted out.

“Strike two…”

“Ohhh… So I’ve gotta really up my game to make the most of my last strike?” I grinned at her.

“You’re wet.”

“Well… yes… but it can wait. I think.”

That’s when she reached over and shoved her hand down my dungarees, into my nappy, taking me by complete surprise as I froze there, blushing like a fucking tomato.

“I’ll change you when I get back. Time for Mummy to go take charge…”

“Atta girl!” I replied, cheering her on.

She just looked at me, unimpressed.

“Way to go… Mummy?” I corrected myself.

“Better. We’ll work on your behaviour when I get back… see if we can’t earn you that third strike…” She grinned at me before quickly getting to her feet, finally removing her hand from my nether regions, and walking off towards our front door.

“I’ll hold you to that…” I replied.

She just winked at me as she left, leaving me alone in our new… empty… home.

And all I could think was…

‘WHY WAS ALL THIS TURNING ME ON SO MUCH?’

Right, so after she left, from what I heard from Lucy and Beatrice much later on… Beth was a proper badass. I actually kinda feel like I missed out on her taking control, but I didn’t want to be a distraction whilst she was taking charge. Or maybe I would’ve helped her be this amazing ‘Mummy’ dominant person thing if I was there. Either way, I regretted staying upstairs.

Beth had gone down and asserted dominance, basically telling Aegir to ‘do one’, and Hestia was allowed ‘creative input’ only. This was the Beth I knew. The one I fell in love with. Maybe her, Bea and Lucy were right… maybe I am interested in ‘Mummies’ or ‘dominants’ or whatever they are called. Because as Lucy and Beatrice told me all about what happened, I couldn’t help but think about Beth… asserting her dominance… if you know what I mean.

Of course you fucking do. Pervs.

But yes, she went down, told them all what she wanted, how she wanted it decorated, what furniture she wanted making, everything. Which meant she was gone a long time, and to be honest… ‘visualising the space’ didn’t take as long as I thought it would. So I waited as long as I could before slowly sneaking back out and heading back towards the elevator, slamming the button for the ground floor so I could go see my girlfriend again.

When I reached the bottom, the doors opened and I saw everyone working their arses off. Massive beams of wood being carried by people as if they were made of foam, sparkly lights being cast from people’s hands… it was… organised chaos.

And in the centre, like a conductor at an orchestra, was Beth.

She was telling people where to move, what to do, what bit needed doing next… she was a freakin pro at this! It was so nice seeing her in her element, taking complete charge and looking so damn confident. Which… again… did not help the squirmy feeling.

“Oh hey baby!” She said, upon seeing me, rushing over and pulling me in for a hug. “Thank you so much for the push. Everything’s going perfectly now.” She whispered.

“I’m glad! Sorry I came down… I got lonely.”

“Oh baby, it’s okay! Do you want to help Mu… me organise things?”

“How about… Mummy assigns me something to do? I’ve got the strength, right?”

She was taken aback by this. And I think it was more to do with the name than the offer of help.

“Are… you sure you want to use that name, sweetie? It’s a big deal.”

“I think so. And hey, if it’s not my thing, we just stop, right?”

“Of course. So you…?”

“Want to try it all, starting now? Yes!” I said. I was sure now. She had been so patient and understanding and sweet. The first three weeks of my undeath were a thing of the past, and I still appreciated her bringing me back in the first place. I don’t know what I’d do without her.

She quickly took her hand and shoved it in her pocket, rummaging around before pulling out… a dummy.

There was a little hesitance from me, but I took one deep breath and opened my mouth, awaiting the nipple. So Beth didn’t waste her time in shoving the dummy in my mouth, where I quickly wrapped my lips around it and started suckling.

“Is that better, baby girl?” She asked in a ridiculously maternal tone, more so than I had ever heard her use… outside of those three weeks I’m choosing to forget.

It… it was. It actually was. This all just felt… right now. Like… this was the right thing for both of us.

So I nodded and smiled behind the dummy, wrapping my arms around my girlfriend and hugging her tightly.

“Fank you, Mummy…” I mumbled.

She squeezed me even tighter, which was probably her way of saying she loved me saying that… which made me feel even better about all this.

“You’re very welcome. How about you go play with your friend, Lucy? She’s got a fun job in one of the rooms on the first floor, she’s putting furniture together.”

“How did you get all the supplies so quickly?”

“You keep forgetting, we’re not human. We have the means to finish this whole place in a few days at most, whereas humans would take… months? Maybe more?”

“I can help! Will… you be… umm…”

“I’ll be up to check on you in a bit, okay sweetie? I promise. Pinky promise.”

“Pinky pwomise?” I asked, still sucking on the dummy in my mouth.

“They’re sacred. Unbreakable. So go be a good girl and go find Lucy on the first floor and do what she says, okay baby?”

“Yes… Mummy…” I smiled up at her as she bent down and kissed my forehead, before turning me around and swatting me on the butt.

If I had known all this felt this good… I would’ve tried it out when we first met. Because the warm feeling in my chest and the butterflies in my tummy as I entered the elevator, waving to my… Mummy… as the doors closed… told me that this was only the beginning of something… magical.

Loving the ongoing chaotic Gaiman energy here.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeee! This is such a huge compliment for me, thank you! 🥰 A lot of my writing and a lot of my humour and everything is inspired by authors like him and Pratchett.

I hope I don't forget it again.

P.S. I still want the pocket dimension.

Hi! Its been a while! Glad you're still alive and doing well, even if you're not getting much sleep :( I hope that improves soon!

I'm glad you're enjoying the story though and have been able to catch up on it. And yeah I think a lot of us would love that pocket dimension, especially with it being a daycare :P

As I always say: sleep is for the weak... so I would need more.

I like that Beth is taking control again and I'm glad about everything I've read so far the connections to the other books.

I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next.

Chapter 32: Lore

Parum Mortis – LittleFallenPrincess

And so we worked.

We worked and we worked.

And then we worked some more.

Everyone was given a job. And when that job was completed, my Mummy gave us another job.

It was still weird calling her that. But it was nice. Like a reassuring hug. Like she was something extra special to me. She was… mine. It was different from her being my girlfriend. We were dating, sure, and whilst I felt like we were soulmates… in the past I never felt like I was hers and she was mine. It was more of a mutual partnership I guess? Whereas now… it felt like I belonged to her… and she belonged to me. It’s amazing what a few silly words can do to a relationship.

Lucy and I were paired together to put together the furniture in each room. Thankfully, it was all relatively easy to put together, made all the more easier by our increased strength. Which led to a conversation I was holding off on… until we got to room four.

“Lucy…” I trailed off, leaving an awkward silence as my best friend put her hammer down and looked in my direction.

“Yes…” She replied, raising her eyebrow at me.

“I know you can’t turn into a bat…”

“Oh. This again. I thought I gave you the whole explanation, that most of it is nonsense.”

“What about the mirror stuff?”

“Nonsense.” She sighed.

“Garlic? Silver?”

“You really are a nerd. Also… we have an intolerance to them both, but it’s not deadly. Think of a very mild allergy when eating garlic in food, or a slight reaction when silver touches our skin.”

“The invitation thing?”

“Jeez Susie… are you in like a vampire fanclub I didn’t know about? Also no, absolute rubbish.”

“What about hypnosis?”

“I… wait…

“Vampires in lore can hypnotise people to do their bidding, make them thralls or servants or whatever…”

“...Yes?” She replied.

“OH MY GOD, REALLY?” I burst out, quickly covering my mouth after realising how loud I was.

“Kind of. It’s not that great. I… I’ve never actually done it before though.”

“Oh? Why not?”

“Because… I don’t like being in control! Why do you think I’m a little?”

“I guess… but you could still have someone clean up after you, or…”

“It’s non-consensual. I don’t do non-con. End of.”

“Oh… yeah… I guess it is. Sorry if I…”

“It’s okay. I just don’t want to force someone to do something they don’t want to. Maybe under extreme circumstances… maybe… but not to get a free meal or a maid or whatever. Though the few times I’ve been out for a meal and someone serving me was rude… I was very tempted.”

“I bet! So like… you’ve never done it to hide your status as a vampire?” I asked her.

“Susie… I don’t go out. This is the most I’ve been out in like… well… since we finished University. I barely leave my apartment. You know how bad I am. I was even worse before you got me to open up a bit at Uni, I’d go decades without leaving the house. It’s… hard for me…”

“I know hun, sorry. So no one even gets a chance to find out you’re a vampire…” I replied, feeling bad for my best friend.

“Exactly. Even being around all these other people, despite them being in the same community… both communities really… is still a bit too much for me. I want to retreat, I want to go hide away in my apartment for a hundred years. But thanks to that hunter asshole, I can’t even do that now. So I’m helping as much as possible, trying to push all my anxiety to the back of my mind so I can help fix this dump up as quickly as possible so I can hide away here for a while. Because once it’s all done… I’m gonna need a while to recharge.”

“Don’t hide from me though, okay?” I smiled at her.

“Don’t worry, you and the twins are like the only people who don’t drain my battery.”

“You seem friendly with some others though… What's your friendship like with those?”

“I’m friendly enough. I know them. But I don’t feel comfortable around them. I feel on edge all the time, like I want to run away at all times.”

“Oh hun…”

“It’s okay. Just… let’s get this done, okay? I want this place done quickly so I can move my stuff over and crash here until I find a new place. Plus… I’m kinda excited about seeing the playroom and your nursery.”

“Maybe you can give me a few pointers as to what my nursery should be like. I’m sure my Mummy won’t mind.”

“I can give you a few words of advice, but it’s your nursery, it’s best if you and your… Mummy… design it yourselves. Also… when did you start calling her that?” Lucy asked.

“Like… a few hours ago?” I laughed awkwardly.

“Oh really…? Go on…” She grinned.

“Nothing to tell… just… it… it makes me feel… loved… wanted… umm… protected… owned…”

“AHA! I fucking called it!” Lucy jumped to her feet in celebration, waving her arms about like she had just won the World Cup.

“Wha?”

“I knew you’d like it! I knew you were a little like me! It’s why I set you two up. I just wish she had introduced you to it before…”

“Before I died and got resurrected…?”

“Exactly. But hey, you’re here now, you’re giving it a shot… that’s all that matters!”

“Yeah, I guess so. Though… we’re still testing the waters so to speak.” I said, shrugging.

“I understand. Take it easy, explore it, have fun. Although I will say… I’m extremely jealous…”

“You are?”

“You’ve got like the best Mummy ever!”

“I have?”

“Do you know how many single littles here would kill to have Beth as their Mummy? Too many! She’s such an amazing Mummy. I just hope to find someone as amazing as her some day…”

“You will! You’re like the cutest little bean I know!”

Lucy blushed as she got back down to floor level with me and grabbed her hammer again.

“Yeah… well… you’re more adorable!” She replied in a childish tone, sticking her tongue out at me.

So I did what I thought was the best, most mature response for this situation…

…I stuck my tongue out back at her.

“Are you two troublemakers behaving?” A familiar voice said, coming from the doorway of the last room we had been assigned to build furniture for. We were nearly done… finally.

“Auntie Bea!” Lucy called out, jumping to her feet and running over, wrapping her arms around my girlfriend’s sister.

“Hey… Aunt Bea…” I mumbled.

“I heard you used the ‘M’ word with my sister earlier. Good for you kiddo. Remember though, there’s no rush!” Beatrice reassured me, looking at me over Lucy’s shoulder as the little bloodsucker hugged the stuffing out of her.

“I know, I know… it felt… right…” I replied.

“Good! So.. how are things in here?” Bea asked us.

Lucy released her from her death grip and backed off towards me again.

“It’s fine.” Lucy replied, sounding like a dejected chipmunk with her ‘little’ voice still there.

“You okay sweetie?” Bea asked Lucy, concerned.

“I think she’s overwhelmed by all the people here.” I responded.

Lucy looked angry that I had told Bea that. Oops.

“You’ve done really well, sweetpea, seriously. I know how rarely you leave the house, especially when you have to interact with people. So you’ve done super well today. Here…” Bea waved her hand a bit and sparkly dust followed it as she drew a little circle in the air.

Suddenly Lucy squeaked, before looking down… to see a gold star sticker on her chest.

God… she looked so… proud? Like it was just… a silly… gold…

“I WANT ONE TOO!” I blurted out.

“You’ve been a super duper good girl too, it takes a lot to put yourself out there, especially for my sister. So you get one too.” Bea said, before waving her hand again and magically conjuring a gold star sticker on my top.

I squealed in delight at the silly gesture… but… I didn’t care. It was nice. It was harmless. It… made me happy. So I hugged my chest and my gold star and stopped caring about how silly all this was.

“You babies and your praise kinks…” Beatrice laughed at us.

“I DO NOT HAVE A PRAISE KINK!” Lucy barked at her.

“D’aww, such a good girl for standing up for yourself!” Beatrice replied… in a condescending tone.

“Lucy… don’t…” I was beginning to say don’t fall for that… but it was too late. She was a blushy little puddle who had gone as silent as a mouse… a mouse with the biggest smile on her face.

“Anyway, I was just wondering if you two are hungry?”

“How’s the rest of the hotel going?” I asked.

“Mostly done, but we’ll probably need another day, two at most, to finish the rest of the place. Your Mummy is knackered. So make sure to give her lots of cuddles tonight.”

“I… where are we going to sleep?”

“You’ll have to take one of the rooms that have been done up, as you never got round to doing up your penthouse suite, did you?”

“No…”

“Then pick a room and crash there. They’re safe to live in now, as we put priority on those, and thanks to you very productive little babies, they’re furnished too, ready for people to move in. But for now, why don’t we get you two kiddos some food in those little tummies of yours…”

“Bea…?” I asked, hesitantly.

“Yes sweetie?”

“Are you sure you’re not a Mummy?”

“I’m sure. But I love playing Auntie for you two. Don’t tell my sister though.” She said, winking at us both. “Now… get those butts downstairs. I’ll finish this wardrobe… drawers… ah whatever it is I’ll finish it, you go find Beth. Tell her I’ve ordered takeaway, it’ll be here soon.”

“Oooh, what takeaway?” Lucy asked, finally diverting her attention from her gold star.

“It’s a surprise! But you’ll like it. Now get those soggy butts downstairs!”

“HEY! We’re not…”

Both Lucy and I squished the padding between our own legs and…

“Okay fine…” We replied in unison.

Beatrice waved her hand again, swirling her finger in a clockwise motion yet again. I didn’t know what she was doing until it was too late…

…When suddenly a ‘IN NEED OF A CHANGE’ sticker was magically placed on both my chest and Lucy’s.

“HEY!” We both said in unison, again.

Another wave of her finger and suddenly our mouths were occupied by our dummies… and we both felt a force turn us around and gently push us out the door.

I tried tugging the dummy out on our waddle down to the bottom floor, where my girlfriend Beth awaited us, but it was to no avail, some magical force was keeping it in. And apparently, Lucy had the same problem. So as we exited the elevator and saw Beth, as soon as she turned around and saw our dummies and the new stickers we earned… she started laughing her arse off.

“Oh that sister of mine…” Beth laughed, grabbing me and pulling me close, inspecting the sticker on my chest. “In need of a change, eh?” Good job we got the nursery done!”

“You did?” Lucy blurted out.

“Yes, but no running off to see… you can wait until after…”

“Food?” I answered for her. It came out sounding a lot more babyish than I’d expected, but I guess that’s what happens when you’ve got a dummy in your mouth.

“Yes, exactly.”

“Bea… I mean Auntie Bea… she said she’s ordered takeaway food.”

“But… oh that sister of mine. Let me guess… she didn’t tell you what she ordered either?”

“Nope.”

“Typical Beatrice. Well at least she has good taste, so whatever she’s gotten… it should be good.”

It was at that moment that someone walked over from the entrance of the hotel, holding two large bags, one in either hand.

“Hey cuties!” They said.

Turning around to see Teles, I suddenly felt guilt boiling up within me.

“Oh hey! What are… wait… did my sister order food from you?” Beth asked her.

“Yup!” Teles said with a smile, as if her cafe hadn’t been absolutely demolished… wait… seriously… Did that happen today? How is it the same day when everything… all that…

So it seems I have lost all track of time and the concept of time has eroded.

“How? I thought your…” I pointed at Teles with confusion on my face.

“Coven came to repair my cafe. Was back to running normally in an hour after you lot made your escape. I’m glad you’re all okay!”

“I’m… sorry…” I mumbled from behind Beth. Lucy and I didn’t want Teles to see the dummies in our mouths, so we both hid behind my girlfriend.

“Oh sweetie! Don’t worry about it, thank you for protecting everyone!”

“I… pwotected everyone?”

Okay… that word was hard to say with the dummy still firmly in place.

“Oh yes, if it wasn’t for you, that hunter would’ve killed us all, then taken our dear Lucy. You saved us all. So as a thank you, I added a little cake to the order, just for you. Okay… maybe a little dessert for Lucy too, after everything she’s been through.”

‘And this woman doesn’t even know we’re littles… wait… did I just refer to myself as one?’ I thought to myself as I blushed and hid half way behind my girlfriend.

“I thought you didn’t deliver?” Beth asked.

“I don’t… usually. But Beatrice told me about this place and what you’re planning for it.”

“What exactly did she…”

“Oh shush, I’ve known about that kinky stuff you and your sister get into, though I must say she’s a lot freakier than you… but still, I knew about this club or whatever it is for a long time. Anyway, that’s not the important thing, the important thing is the sanctuary you’re creating for us all. I think it’s a wonderful idea, so I decided that this one time I’d deliver to you. Especially when these two little cuties saved us all earlier.” Teles said, smiling at me and Lucy.

“Well… thank you!” Beth said on behalf of us all.

“There isn’t enough for all your little helpers though, it’s mostly for you three and Beatrice. So you may want to shuffle off with your food before anyone else catches wind!” Teles winked at me, handing over one of the bags to me and the other large bag to Lucy. Thankfully, with my increased strength, it wasn’t heavy at all.

“Go on, shuffle off upstairs quickly, find a room on the first floor and grab Bea and we’ll have a little snack, okay little ones?” Mummy said to us, openly in front of Teles, causing me to blush brighter than the sun.

Lucy nodded and smiled, before turning to me and nudging me to get going.

“...Fank you…” I said from behind my dummy, which was still stuck firmly in my mouth, as was Lucy’s.

“You’re very welcome.” Replied Teles, waving at me and smiling.

Chapter 33: Picnic

Parum Mortis – LittleFallenPrincess

Sitting down on the floor of one of the rooms we had finished earlier, we all gathered together in one little circle, looking at each other, the four of us all sat cross-legged on the plush carpet.

“So what did you get for us?” Beth asked her sister.

“You’ll see.” Bea replied.

Reaching into the bag, Beth looked surprised as she pulled out box after box after box…

“How are dere so many boxes? Dey can’t fit in dat bag… suwely?” I asked, the dummy making me sound like the baby I looked sorta like.

“They can’t… normally…” Beth replied as she pulled out the dummy from my mouth and put it in her pocket. Beatrice did the same with Lucy, who just blushed and looked at the floor.

“Oh, is it like a magic bag or something?”

“Don’t be silly… it’s a normal bag with a spell cast on it.”

“Isn’t that the same thing?”

“Not at all. A magic bag is very different…”

“Leave the poor baby alone, sis! She’s not ready to hear you lecture her about the specific definitions of magical work.” Beatrice laughed.

“Sorry… I don’t often get to…” My girlfriend said, looking ashamed. So I quickly interrupted her.

“No! I like it!”

“Y… you do?” Her worried face turned to that of pleasant surprise.

“Yeah! I wanna hear all about it!”

“Later!” Beatrice raised her voice. “Food first! I’m starving. This time dilation crap has drained me.”

“Time… dilation?” I asked, confused.

“Oh… right… you were in the daycare, and we never told you… oh… umm…”

“Told us what?”

“One of the Witches, a Daddy friend of ours, has a speciality in time manipulation.” Beth explained.

“Oh my god… like… can he go back in time and stuff?”

“Kind of. But not exactly go back. He can reverse, speed up, or slow down time. There’s no such thing as time travel magic. Only time manipulation.”

“That we know of.” Beatrice added.

“Yes sister… that we know of. But yes, this friend of ours put a spell on the hotel, slowing down the world around us.”

“How did you think we got so much work done in one day?” Bea asked.

“I… just figured… the magic and supernatural abilities and stuff?”

“Well… yes, in a way. But whilst we still could have done a lot without his help, we’d have barely finished the first stage by now if he didn’t cast his spell.”

“So how long have we been working?”

“About three or four days?” Beth turned to look to her sister for an answer.

“Something like that.” Bea confirmed.

“Why… why don’t I feel drained?” I asked.

“Because you’re dead. Undead. Whatever. You don’t need much sleep, I assume anyway. Lucy doesn’t either, being a vampire, and we… well us Witches have been chugging elixirs to keep our energy levels up.”

“You have?”

“Yes, but it’s starting to catch up with us. Especially now the spell is wearing off and everyone is leaving.”

“Everyone’s leaving?”

“We’re done. The place is done. Mostly. They’re just making the finishing touches, then they’re going home to recover from this spell. It’s going to take a lot of food and a lot of rest for the next couple of days to get over this. We’ll have to do the final bits ourselves slowly over the next week.”

“And everyone is okay with that?”

“You’ve got a lot of questions, Susie. Can they wait until we’ve eaten? Otherwise I may have to roll you up to into a burrito and nom on you!” Bea joked, pulling a scary, yet funny face at me, the sort of face you’d pull at a small child to make them laugh.

Which annoyingly… seemed to have the same effect on me.

As I laughed, Beth got to work emptying all the contents of the ‘bag with a magic spell cast on it’, displaying everything neatly on the floor in the middle of our circle.

“Right… dig in I suppose!” Beth smiled at me, before Lucy and Beatrice dove in, looking like foxes raiding bins in the middle of the night.

Time dilation spells, magic bags vs bags with spells cast on them, vampires, sirens, Gods, monsters, Witches… the past week had been a mess. Or is it technically a week? I mean… apparently we worked for like 3 or 4 days straight, but on the outside world only an afternoon passed… so do those days count or not? Does that affect my birthday as I’ll technically be a few days older physically than I normally would be when my birthday comes around?

Too many questions filled my mind as I delicately bit into a sandwich I had grabbed from the assortment of food on display. I felt like I had to not give in to my primal urges and do exactly what Beatrice and Lucy were currently doing… acting like ravenous wolves as they dug into the feast in front of them.

But at some point, Beth must have noticed me eating slowly and carefully, because she quickly put her own food down and reached over, taking my plate away from me.

“Hey! I was eating…”

Before I could finish moaning at her, she waved her finger at me. And yet whilst no magic was cast, I still found my butt getting up and crawling over to her, plopping myself down onto her lap.

“Good girl.” She said, putting one hand around my back, supporting me, and using her free hand to wave her finger, this time actually casting a spell.

It was still a wonder to see her cast spells. Though to be fair, I haven’t actually seen her cast that many. It made me wonder what her limits were, how strong she was compared to other Witches, what kinds of things she could and couldn’t do… but this spell she was casting was not going to answer any questions. Because all it did… was cut up my food into bite size pieces.

Lifting one of those pieces up, she held it out in front of my mouth with her fingers. “Open up, babykins… Let Mummy feed you…”

I blushed and slowly found myself opening my mouth, allowing my girlfriend-turned-Mummy to feed me, something we had never done before. Not even as adults with grapes or whatever. And to be completely honest… I didn’t hate this. Sure, at first it felt like my cheeks could melt steel with the amount of blushing I was doing as she fed me pieces of my sandwich, but after about four bites… I started easing into it. And I had never felt so small. That was, until…

“D’awwww!” Lucy called out, managing to find a second to speak in between shoving food into her mouth, causing me to blush once again and bury my head into Beth’s chest.

“Baby… you need to eat. I know your body is special now… but it still needs sustenance.” Beth said, stroking my hair, making me feel loved and special and small and… this… this was it. The thing that Lucy loved so much. The thing all those other ‘littles’ or whatever they’re called out there love. Turns out… I love it too. I genuinely do. This… is something I actually freaking want! Like… I want her to keep feeding me… cuddling me… talking softly to me… taking care of me…

The adult part of my brain was trying to fight back at this point, throwing mean thoughts into the swirling pool that is my brain, ones such as ‘You look stupid’ and ‘You’re an adult woman dressed as a baby… how pathetic’. And sure, maybe a few days ago I would’ve let those thoughts win and take over… but not today. Not with Beth’s arms around me, not when I’m feeling more loved than I ever have.

And that’s not to say I didn’t feel loved before I knew all this… before I died… It was more… this was special. This was a special kind of love. One different to what I was normally used to. Different but… amazing.

“You okay, babygirl?” Beth asked softly, bringing me out of my thoughts once again.

Shaking my head a bit, I looked up at her and smiled. “Yeah, I’m okay Mummy. Just…”

“Just what?”

“I wuv you!” I said in my most babyish voice possible. I didn’t care if it was a bit over the top, if it was a bit too corny or whatever… and I especially didn’t care when I could see on her face the moment her heart melted. So I used that opportunity to reach up and plant a kiss on her lips, before nuzzling into her neck.

“I love you too, baby girl…” She whispered into my ear as she held me close and I heard excited squealing coming from the other side of the picnic.

After a very adorable feeding, and lots of blushing on my part, we all lay back on the floor, relaxing from the amount of food we had just consumed. Teles had put a lot in those bags, way more than we could even handle, so Bea said she’d shove it in the fridge when she can manage to get up. I honestly didn’t even know we had a fridge, me and Lucy had been in these rooms all this time in our own little world, putting together furniture, we had no idea how much they had done during this time.

My tummy felt happy after all that lovely food… which made me glad even death hadn’t ruined that for me. Not going to lie… I was a bit worried that maybe some things would be ruined for me now that my body is technically deceased. I was especially worried I may get an appetite for brains, but that seems to be a false tale, made up for horror movies. Thankfully the spell Beth had cast on me seems to have made it so it was mostly alive… I think. I’m no expert about undeath, and even if I was… this was apparently a rare thing as it is. So it's not like I can just nip to the library to find out more about it.

My heart also felt happy. Happier than it ever had been. This whole baby thing… having my girlfriend as my ‘Mummy’... it was… good. I freaked out a lot at first, it was weird... it still is really. But it’s also made me feel even more loved and happy than ever, so it can’t be bad… right? Lucy is super into it, and has been for a long time… and she’s a good person too, right? I mean sure, she’s a vampire but even for a vampire she’s good, in terms of her source of food anyway.

Which reminded me… how is it that Lucy can eat ‘human’ food? Or maybe it’s special food made so all supernatural entities can enjoy it? I’d have to ask Lucy or Beth or Teles at some time… right now though I was falling into a food coma.

“You okay babygirl?” Beth asked, nudging me gently.

“Uh huh. Food… too good… need… sleep…”

“Well we’ll take the room next door. Lucy, you can have the one next to that. Bea… pick one.”

“I’m gonna head home, I've got a few things to do before I can rest.” Beatrice said.

“Oh okay. You sure? You must be exhausted.”

“I’m fine. Plus I need to call at the pub on the way home.”

“Seriously?” Beth whined at her sister.

“Oh don’t, it’s just to meet up with Lucifer again. Need to thank her for her work today.” Bea explained as she sat up.

“I noticed she just disappeared once all the spellwork had been finished. Give her my thanks.”

“Will do. And yeah, she said to meet her at the pub when finished, she wants to discuss this proposal I’ve got. I may end up with a new job of all things!”

“Really? Doing what?”

“I’ve been thinking… Maybe a live-in-maid?” Bea grinned at Beth.

“Maid? Seriously? You? Oh… wait… seriously?”

Beatrice and Beth just looked at each other, in complete silence.

“What? What is it?” I asked, breaking the tension in the air.

“Well… my sister has a kink…”

“SHE DOES? WHAT?” I blurted out, excitedly.

“She loves being a maid…”

“That’s not that bad… not compared to… this…” I said, pointing at the thick padding protruding from between my legs.

“No it's not, and no Beth, I’m not just doing this to play out my fantasy. I think I can genuinely help both my friend and Lucifer.”

“You mentioned a friend… what’s her deal?” Beth asked.

“She’s a lesbian, like you three. But she’s human. Her girlfriend just died… I won’t go into how, but it’s not nice. My friend is not taking it well.”

“Oh I’m sorry to hear that! And you think you can help?”

“I think so. But it’s going to take a while. And I mean… a while. May be working for her for a long time.”

“You sure you’re okay with that?”

“Of course. I want to help her, and I want to help Lucifer. So if it takes a decade… or longer… I’ll do this.”

“Is she…”

“Into kink? No. But I think she’d make a kickass Mummy… she’s got that energy.”

“So what’s your plan for her?” Beth asked, looking as intrigued as Lucy and I at this plan of Bea’s.

“Setting her up with someone Luci knows.”

“Why not just set her up with any little here?” Lucy asked.

“Because she needs time to grieve first. And then… I think it’s going to take the right person to bring her out of her shell that she’s created around herself. And you know I have those feelings… well I have that about this.”

“Fair enough. I won’t pry any more. Just… don’t be a stranger, okay? Don’t get too enveloped in your whole ‘maid’ thing that you forget about your sister and your friends.”

“I won’t! But yeah, I better get going. I’ve got a lot of planning with Lucifer to do, so I may not be around for the next week or so, ‘kay?”

“‘Kay. Take care sis!” Beth said as Beatrice stood up, grunting.

“Ugh… Teles… why do you have to make such amazing food… I ate way too much…” Beatrice joked before waving at the three of us and walking out of the room.

It's funny to read when Bea thinks she might have to work for this friend for a while when you know how long she's going to be at the end.

Nevertheless, one is happy when one knows that this all goes well.

Ditto Moon3ye’s comment. Love this story and its connections. As much as I love taking a bath in the warm and fuzziness here, I have this nagging sense that something dark is lurking around the corner. Given your general pattern of story length, I suspect that may happen within a chapter or two before resolution around 40-ish.

Chapter 34: Morning

Parum Mortis – LittleFallenPrincess

After a difficult night’s sleep in an unfamiliar bed, I woke up in the arms of my girlfriend.

And I must say… I’ve missed this.

“Good morning, beautiful…” Beth smiled down at me.

“Morning… Mummy…” I replied.

Her expression quickly changed, looking a little more serious than just a second ago.

“How does it feel to say that? Weird? Good? Awkward?”

“A little bit of all three, but mostly good.” I smiled up at her.

“Is that something you want to call me then, Mummy?”

“I… uh huh… maybe….”

“And this whole baby thing…”

“I hate to admit it but… yeah… okay maybe you lot were right about me.”

She squealed adorably and then proceeded to squeeze the stuffing out of me in bed.

Since all our stuff was at home… or our old home now I guess… we had nothing to wear to bed, so whilst Beth got to look all hot and everything in just her panties and nothing else… I wore just a nappy. Because due to the time dilation or manipulation or whatever it’s called… We had been working non-stop for days, so our clothes really needed washing. Sadly, we’d have to wear them again to go out later, which I was not looking forward to.

“I think you should stay back here whilst I go pick up all our stuff and also Lucy’s stuff.” Beth said, as if she read my mind.

“Are you sure? Don’t you need my big strong arms?” I said, flexing my non-existent muscles. Like seriously… my arms were scrawny and tiny with no hint of muscle behind them. All my strength was down to my magically-induced state of death, I guess.

“Thank you, baby girl, but I’ll be okay. I know a few experts in moving, ones who specialise in moving people who have been hunted. The ones I pointed out to you.”

“What about that hunter? Won’t he know to look here? How do you know he didn’t follow us?”

“Because I’ve been tracking him. Or at least I’ve had someone following him. Plus remember, time has been moving a lot faster for us than him. He’s had barely any time to recover and gather himself to prepare for another attack. I know we’ve been busy, but we’ve at least had time to settle our minds. So don’t worry, that guy doesn’t know where we are. And we’ll be using a portal to come back, so maybe stay away from the dance floor for the rest of the day until we’re back, okay? I think it’s the best place to open one for now.”

“A portal? Can I see?”

“Maybe if you’re there all afternoon waiting for us, sure. But we don’t know when we’ll get back.”

“So what’s Lucy gonna do?”

“For a home? Well she can stay here with us, here. That’s what this place is for.”

“Yeah but you told everyone this would be a sanctuary for people to stay, then we’d help them to move on with their lives.”

“And that’s just what we’ll do. We’ll find her a new place, somewhere the hunter can’t find her, somewhere new. But for now, she needs familiar faces and a lot of love. She’s good at hiding her feelings, a little too good… but I know she’s struggling right now. So I need you to be a super good girl for me today and look after her. Especially with Auntie Beatrice gone, I need you to step up.”

“Don’t worry, I would’ve done that anyway. Lucy is my best friend after all.” I grinned.

“I hope you make more friends in this community, some really took a liking to you.”

“They did? Like who?” I asked, half surprised and half… well… excited? I hadn’t made new friends in a while, so the prospect of making more… scared me… and also got me feeling all giddy.

“Grim and Abby.”

“The wolfy boy and the kit… kit…”

“The kitsune?”

“Yeah that’s the one! So… what did they say?”

“Just that you and Lucy seemed cool. They actually gave me their number, asked if they could come over sometime soon to play in the playroom and maybe get to know you both.”

“They did? When did they say this?”

“When you and Lucy were busy fixing these rooms up. They were a little shy to come up and ask you themselves, so just like little kids… they came to your Mummy…” Beth laughed.

I just lay there, blushing, trying to hide my red face by burying it into Beth’s arm.

“So… umm…” I trailed off, awkwardly.

“What, sweetpea?”

“Could… could I invite them over today?”

“It’s a bit soon, isn’t it? They’re probably as exhausted as we are! And I’ve still got a busy day, I’ve got to clear our old house AND Lucy’s apartment. They probably need some rest.”

“Could I… at least call them and see?”

“Why do you want to meet them so bad?”

“Not that bad! I just… I want to know more about all this. How to act… how to… I dunno… be everything?”

“And you want to know more about it by looking to others? Sweetie, just let yourself be you. Just be as childish as you want, do whatever you feel like doing as a little. There’s no one way to act or dress or whatever, you do what comes naturally to you.”

“But…”

“But yes, I’ll give you their number. They can come over for a playdate with you and Lucy, provided Lucy is okay with it.” Beth sighed, rolling her eyes at me.

“Get Lucy’s permission first. Got it. What about them coming… today?”

Beth just sighed again and scratched her head.

“Look, if they’re up for it, sure. But keep to the playroom, okay? That place is finished, and I don’t want four littles getting into trouble around our new place with no adult supervision. I’m trusting you, baby, got that?” She said with her sternest voice.

“Otay!” I said, without realising how babyish I had made my words sound.

“My good little girl…” She replied, kissing my forehead and squeezing me tightly. “Right, ten minutes of snuggles, then I need to get up and get dressed, I’m being picked up soon!”

“Fifteen.” I mumbled.

“What?”

Fifteen minutes of snuggles. Then get dressed super fast.”

“Oh, are we bargaining now?” Beth’s eyebrow raised itself at me.

“I’ll do that thing with my tongue if you…”

Before I could finish my sentence, Beth shoved my head under the duvet.

“Deal!” She gasped.

Beth had gone to Lucy’s place, along with a couple of their friends or contacts or whatever they are, to pick up all of Lucy’s stuff. They were also calling at our place and moving all our stuff over too before heading to Lucy’s. Obviously, despite the rarity of the materials required to create a portal, they were planning on portalling back with all the stuff so that the hunter couldn’t track us. Because even if it had only been a day in the real world, we couldn’t guarantee the hunter wasn’t watching Lucy’s place, licking his wounds after our little scuffle in the cafe.

Portalling… it’s still weird how… normal… that kind of talk is now. It had barely been any time, but being surrounded by the weird, the witchy and the supernatural… now it was all just… normal…

And I thought portable cassette players were something to wow at!

But yes, Beth had gone, leaving me alone, mostly naked in my bed. I knew I had to get up soon, and go check on Lucy, as she’s probably anxious about everyone going through her stuff, so I slid one leg out of the duvet, hoping that would be enough to push me into moving the other leg out too. Eventually I’d have my whole body out and I’d be up! Genius idea!

Or it would be… if I wasn’t so comfy. Not even my left leg can tempt the other to move right now. At least Beth had the common sense to change me before leaving. I would’ve hated to have to lay in bed all morning in that wet nappy I had worn since last night.

But just as my left leg started tempting me again, reminding me I really needed to get up… I heard a knock on the door.

“Lucy? Is that you?” I called out.

“Uh… huh…”

“You can come in, hun…” I said, quickly covering my boobs with the duvet.

Opening the door, she took one look at me and went to close it again.

“Sorry… I’ll…”

“No, come in, it’s okay!” I said, waving her over.

Anxiously shuffling over, she sat at the end of the double bed and looked at the floor.

“What’s up?” I asked, softly.

“I… just…”

“Anxious about them going through your stuff? I’m not as bad as you and even I would hate that. Even if they are all into this kinda thing…”

“I know… I should be grateful… but…”

Carefully wrapping the duvet around me as I sat up and shuffled over the bed so I was sat next to my best friend, I wrapped my arm around her shoulders, using my other to clasp the duvet so it didn’t fall down.

“Shhhh… it’s okay, they’re gonna be in, grab your stuff, then get out. That’s all. Then you can move in here with us for a while, until you’re ready to move on and find your own place again.”

“I… suppose. Thanks…”

“Hey, don’t thank me, thank my awesome girlfriend.” I smiled at her.

“You sound a lot more chipper and a lot more… enthusiastic about everything with her… it’s like when you first started dating her… it’s nice…”

“I do? I… oh… I just…”

“Nah, it makes sense. No need to worry about that. You and her have figured out your places and your roles and everything, and no one needs to hide anything anymore. It’s nice! It’s… what I hope to have one day.”

“You’ll get that. Even if it takes like a year.”

“Nah, more like forty for me… I’m not very good when it comes to…”

“Forty then! What’s forty years old for immortal beings like us?” I laughed.

“I guess that’s true… I keep forgetting I won’t have to outlive you anymore. It’s nice to have a friend who doesn’t grow old and die…”

“I assume you’ve had that?”

“Yup. All my childhood friends… They grew old, retired and died. And here’s me, looking like a twenty year old!”

“I always assumed immortality would be horrible… the loneliness…” I sighed.

“It was… That’s why it was different when I met Beth and Beatrice.”

“But they’re…”

“They’re not immortal, no… but they’re not mortal either. Without outside assistance they would age like any normal human probably… or maybe they’d have an extra fifty years or so. Not sure, as I’ve never heard of a Witch who ages naturally.”

“So they magically make themselves not age?” I asked, intrigued to find out more about my girlfriend and what exactly Witches actually do in reality.

“Yup. At least I think so. Again, they’re pretty shush about all that kind of thing.”

“I wonder if Beth will tell me…”

“I’m sure she’d have to at some point, because if you didn’t die and get resurrected, she’d outlive you. But now you’re immortal… you could even outlive her!”

“Can we change the subject? It’s getting a little too…” I suggested, not wanting to think about death and what could have been.

“Nah, it’s okay, I understand. Us undead have a special kind of thing with death… but even then we can get a bit overwhelmed by it.”

“Yeah… so, to change the topic… I was going to ask you a question…”

“Go on…” Lucy trailed off, sounding suspicious.

“What would you say to a playdate with that wolf boy and the fox girl?”

“The werewolf and the kitsune? Grimfang and Abby? What? When did this happen?”

“It hasn’t yet, though apparently they wanted to get to know us both, they talked to Beth whilst we were up here and gave her their number. I was wondering… if you’d be up for getting your mind off things by having a playdate in the new playroom downstairs?”

“I… but…”

I could see Lucy start to panic in her head.

“They’re not exactly new people. And they seemed friendly enough, and hey, if they come and you want space, you can always waddle off and play with other toys. They won’t be offended.”

“I… but…”

“Come on… we both need more friends. You trust me, right? I’ve always done the right thing when it comes to getting you to socialise more?”

“I guess… but won’t they be exhausted?”

“Do you think they’d turn down the chance to play in the playroom?”

“Okay, fine. But is your Mummy okay with this?”

“She gave me their numbers and everything.”

“Sure then. Just… let me go change and put something on that’s a little more suitable to play in.”

“I’ll go call them and you go get changed and dressed. If they are too tired, then we’ll just hang out in the playroom by ourselves, deal?”

Lucy smiled awkwardly and nodded, before waddling out of the bedroom, leaving me alone again.

‘If I even know where the phones are in this place…’
