  1. This is really cool. I love how all of you have worked together to weave this tale. So many possibilities and connections. @Personalias: I love your writing, and your contribution to the Academy series is stellar. I am curious, though. Is the use of Luna an intentional nod to the @Lyra Silver story of the same name? There are too many parallels for it to be coincidence. I love that story and it fits perfectly here.
  2. Nice transition chapter from pleasant to peril, ‘cause that has to happen next, right?!
  3. I was feeling pretty good about where this was headed, like the crowd would want Liv for PM, but your devil emoji has me worried… 🤨
  4. Honestly, I’ve spent most of the story waiting for Mackenzie to turn…hoping she wouldn’t, but suspecting she might. I’m glad she is what she seems to be: someone who cares deeply about what Carly wants and needs. Lilly did not disappoint. I’m looking forward to how you develop that relationship, too. ❤️💕
  5. Whoa. I went from merely confused to totally disoriented, and finally blown away by the demon/angel twist, which in hindsight (Academy M hindsight) makes perfect sense. I did catch on to the bubble multiverse bit, but it took a bit longer than I’d like to admit to discern Ai’s role. Loved the “Ice and Claire” part. It reminded me of the “Land of Spare Oom” and the “bright city of War Drobe” from C.S. Lewis. 🤣 I think I read this sentence at least a couple of times, thinking you’d made a mistake, before the context of the paragraph sank in. Nicely done, Soph. Nicely done. Congrats on a great new story. I’m hooked and here for the duration. ❤️💕
  6. Another great chapter! Very creative way to break the news to Stacy and the rest of Carly’s family. Bit of a shock, I’m sure, but also a great ice breaker given the family history. I love how you’ve surrounded Carly with a support network. Regardless of how she felt about the change, this would be terribly difficult without it. Can’t wait to see Lilly’s reaction when she sees Carly in person. 😍
  7. Yay! Whoever it is, they are pissed and have the PM scared senseless. My bet is that it’s Malcolm and Liv’s supporters.
  8. @bbykimmy Wow. I don’t know if you get notified of updates on completed stories, but I hope you do. Act 2 was quite the wild ride emotionally. Very well played. I was definitely worried for Kimmy and all the dark times she endured. I just kept going and believed you would bring her home. I’d hoped Gwen would be the one to finally save Kimmy. They are still my favorite character (after Kimmy, of course). This is the first of your stories I’ve read, but it will not be the last.
  9. @bbykimmy I ran across some of your works in a list compiled by @BabySofia and decided to give this one a read. What a wonderful treat! I love the depth of your characters and world building, especially the troubled nature of Littles’ backstories in this part of the DD. As of this comment, I’m about halfway through the story, having made it this far in one afternoon. I love the relationships you’ve developed, and I’m pretty sure, other than Kimmy, my favorite character is Gwen. I’ve met many “Gwens” in my life and they are always wonderful to experience (because you don’t just “meet” that kind of personality, you “experience” them 🤣). I also had to chuckle at your description of the callouses on Gwen’s left hand. As a regularly performing bassist, I deal with those callouses, and they are indeed tough. The going joke regarding bassists is that they can crush a Volkswagen with their left hand, but barely hold a beer with their right hand. Not too far from the truth. I am really looking forward to seeing where the rest of the story leads. Your writing is wonderful.
  10. Yup. Carly is stuck. She gets to explain the tears of joy and cope with the fallout. I imagine it will all work out for the best in the tradition of the family Slane.
  11. So, this line has been stuck in my head the whole story. I know Judith is supposedly Arcana, but there seems to be a lot more going on here. Combine that with the fact that your character names are always thoughtfully chosen, and it doesn’t seem to be much of a stretch to come up with “Maria, mother of God.” With that in mind, I am super interested to see if Judith and Maria have significant roles in your final book. I agree it would be nice for Maria to finally have some happiness in her life.
  12. No worries. Life happens. Take care and post when you can. 🙂
  13. Daaaaamn. Chris has been acting weird, but to have him confirm his complicity so bluntly. Whoa. Someone is gonna get a major ass-whooping. (Character, not author. Speaking only for myself, of course) 😉
  14. I feel as though I owe you an apology. I had been really good about keeping up with the Academy-verse and posting comments until A:M. I sort of dropped the ball and just now finished binging the whole story. Quite a wild ride and I love how you pulled all the threads from previous stories together! I’ve loved all of your characters and world building, but I’m pretty sure Maria is now my favorite, which is kind of odd since she’s “the enemy” in all of the other stories. Kudos to you for turning the world on its head. Sorry for not keeping up with this and encouraging you through the process. I’ll be looking for the next book!
  15. Yes, I definitely appreciate your taking (making?) the time to continue posting to this story! Thank you! ❤️💕 @Moon3ye comments on this chapter are spot on. My feelings exactly!
  16. Progressively worse problems with the nanites. Can’t say I’m surprised, but I’m definitely curious to see how Carly and friends handle it. I can see Carly being torn between finding a solution to the worsening incontinence and her desire to remain a girl. Hopefully, Amanda will have some luck with the code.
  17. Wow. What a fantastic resource. Thank you (I think) for giving me a lot of homework to do in the dimension. 🤣 This is fabulous. I don’t know how you carved out time to do this and keep up with your writing and real life, but a huge thank you!
  18. I absolutely agree with @BabySofia. Wonderfully written and in line with the rest of the story. I feel much more emotionally connected to the characters in this ending. Isabelle’s awareness and internal struggle are more evident in this version, resulting in my feeling less like an observer and more like a participant. It’s not written in first person, yet that’s the feeling I get while reading it. I’m very much looking forward to your new finale.
  19. Indeed, but reading all your previous stories should be compulsory! Then we just have to put the pieces together. In all fairness, you put all kinds of Easter eggs in your writing and this one was fairly easy to find. I do love how you’ve developed the relationship between Beth and Carly. Lots of us wanted to see it anyway, and you’ve made this hopeless romantic happy with how it has come about. So even though the nanite issue will be seen as a tragedy by some in Connor’s circle of friends, we know the truth. I imagine we’re reaching the top of another hill on the story’s roller coaster. Can’t wait to see where you take us on the next drop!
  20. Wow. So the part with Madison turning from the Dark Side was for real. It’ll be interesting to see where that leads. And heaven help whoever Charlie goes after when she recovers. That should make for a fun chapter or two. 🤣 As if that was ever in doubt. We love your stories, cliffhangers and all, even if we do complain about them. Nobody’s actually booked any flights to the UK or sought out concrete companies…yet…
  21. And that, in a nutshell, is why I absolutely love this story. We get to see what Clark sees and more importantly feel what Clark feels on this epic journey. Wrap that up in a setting I can fully relate to as a retired elementary educator, and this is a most captivating story. As a hopeless romantic, I want to see Clark happy, and at this stage of his life I hope Janet is the one he finds happiness with. You may work back around to his wife’s story, but for now I’d call happiness with Janet a win.
  22. Pretty sure Amanda will be talking about the trip to Selegnasol when it comes to Lilly’s backstory. I do love this story, as I do ALL of your stories! Thank you for continuing to post here and feed my addiction (to your writing). ❤️💕
  23. Yay! I knew one of the sisters or mums would come through! I had faith. 😉
  24. Haven’t posted too many comments recently, mostly ‘cause your other readers are having the same reactions as me, but I’m still loving (and Liking) this one! I do especially love the professionalism and respect displayed by Carly and Beth’s movie crew. And it has been oddly quiet for a few chapters, so the nanotechnology pretty much has to blow up in their faces, which based on recent events wouldn’t disappoint Carly at all. Wonder how Beth will take it?
  25. I really enjoyed this story when you first wrote and posted it. I know some folks weren’t happy with the “fluid” ending. I’m happy to see you’ve returned to offer an alternative ending, if only because I loved it the first time around and I’m genuinely interested to see your new take.
