Dry247's should come just to your belly button or what?

Recommended Posts

All diapers should extend up to your belly button, as well as having a minimum 1-2 inches of overlap on the sides. That is a proper fit, and if you don't get that then you are wearing a diaper that is too small, and will likely have problems with them fitting too tight, get leaks (especially over the top band), have issues with tapes popping off or the plastic tearing/blowing out, etc.

I am wearing Dry's now and mine rise to high as well, I simply just flip them over on themselves (on the outside, not tuck) and problem solved. Do have to adjust my belt sometimes, and never had a wicking issue to the waistband, generally they don't wick to well anyway until they reach full capacity, which I never have reached. If you are close to the size between small and medium, I would try a small sample to see if they might suit you better. I just measured my smalls they measure 31" long (Rise) X 24" stretched back panel and 25" front panel. so even if you subtracted 3" for overlap tuck to the sides, that leaves them fitting comfortable to around a 40" waist person. :)

My Tenas go up to belly button too, when laying down, but when I stand up it "fall" down below belly...

I will try and get rid of the big belly before a wedding in August..

The point is that they should extend over your waist line so that the padding will also be extending up high enough as well. This is very important for when lying down, and for guys as well since we will wet the front more than the middle or back of the diaper. Though I admit this probably won't be as important for girls or for those that don't use diapers at night.

Take a look at a baby with a properly fitted diaper and you will see the proportions are roughly the same too. (Just be careful to make the distinction of not getting into child pornography, that is a no no).

It seems most people don't realize this and keep trying to "fit" into a diaper that is too small. Also remember, if you think your true fit is right in between a medium and a large, you really do fit into a large. This is because diapers are supposed to be big, the bigger they are, the more they cover you, and the padding they have, the better they can do their job.

Of course that is all within reason, they still need to be just snug enough around you legs and waist so as not to leak. If one brand doesn't fit all of this, then it isn't made for your body shape so you'll have to find a different one.

I think I should also remind everyone in the US that pant size and waist size are completely different.

If you wear pants sized for 34" they you probably have a 38" waist. Our manufacturers do that to make us feel better about our selves, but it only causes more problems than it's worth.

This is evident in diaper sizing. If again lets say you have a 34" PANT size, and a diaper manufacturer's chart says a medium will fit up to a 36" WAIST, then you need a large.
