packrat
I love it!!! With all the press lately about the full body scanner boycott, this is appropriate! By the way, does anyone know how a diapered butt looks under the full body scanner??? I have a flight in a few weeks and don't would like to wear, but don't want that fact to become a security event. I expect that people are routinely going through the scanner with a diaper. One radio commentary seemed to indicate that a lot of older women were scanned then taken to have a 'pat down' (which makes me think that a diaper might be involved.) Rat Link to comment
LuvsGurl
Can you spot the bomb in that image? No? The TSA can't either! All this and the TSA has never caught a single terrorist in its history of "screening" passengers. Hopefully all this negative press about the scanners and pat downs will actually generate change. I've read more articles by security experts speaking out against the scanners recently than I have supporting them. Link to comment

Rat I'd just wear a diaper, refuse the scan, and opt for the 'enhanced pat-down.' That'd be a load of fun I think. Honestly, I'm not nearly as worried about my privacy as I am the radiation. It doesn't make me feel good when I think about how the prevalence of cancer is going to look 20 years after these things are a mainstay. Link to comment
packrat
WallaWalla I've had the same thought about the diapered pat down. What would they say? "Why is your underwear so thick??" I really wonder what a pat down of the underwear bomber of a year ago would have felt like? I'm thinking TSA gloved inspector would remark: "Say, Dude that's some mighty serious junk you've got down there, the bitches must really dig you! cool!" Me, I just don't need the embarassment with my wife coming along. Rat Link to comment

They would have to check it for explosives and they would truly hate their job after that....even worse if it had a fuse. Fox news would love to talk about the but plug bomber.. Link to comment

LuvsGurl
Not really much of a concern for those of us who don't fly... I am sorry that you think so. Government usurpation of citizens' civil rights should be a concern to everyone. These new TSA measures are a blatant violation of our 4th Amendment right to be secure in our persons against unreasonable searches. Essentially, the government may not detain you even momentarily without reasonable and explainable suspicion. They have to suspect you of something and demonstrate probable cause before patting you down and rummaging through your things. Last time I checked wanting to fly on an airliner was not a suspicious activity. Millions of people do it every day, and compared to the number of flights the number of attempted attacks in the post 9/11 era represent a fraction of a percent. You have a better chance of being killed by a drunk driver on your way home than you do of being in a plane crash of any kind, yet I don't see police setting up alcohol check points at every freeway entrance. Why? Because that would be unreasonable. An officer can stop you and conduct a field sobriety test, but in order for him/her to do so you must be demonstrating suspicious behavior, I.E. acting drunk, weaving between lanes, driving to fast, driving to slow, etc. Hopefully these new measures will be brought before the Supreme Court before long, and then we can all breathe a sigh of relief when they are struck down as being unconstitutional. 2 Link to comment

Santiago
Govt invasion of privacy is a concern to everyone - no matter if you fly - they use these other places as well - such as courthouses, etc. What is next? Not really much of a concern for those of us who don't fly... Link to comment

Missy Q
We usually fly out to see family during Christmas, but this year we're driving. Last year, on the return flight, I had to get "below the belt" pat-down beacuse I had a paper-clip on my pants to replace the zipper-fly that was broken. We're not entirly interested in paying several hundred dollars just so I can get a gloved hand down my pants. (To make matters even worse, this was during the week of the underwear bomb attempt) Link to comment
lil_baby_wet_n_squishy
If people would of supported profiling at the airport only a select few would be subject to this, now everyone has to get strip searched in the name of being PC.... We are the only country in the world doing something this invasive in the name of security... 1 Link to comment
