Bettypooh Posted July 10, 2009 Share Posted July 10, 2009 Another "BOOO" for the change I can finally get to some of the emoticons bt some are off-screen. The loss of color contrast makes it hard to read. The new layout is unfamiliar so now I have to learn it all over again (and now the emoticons aren't working so imagine the "crying" one here). There's still no place like DD but you're not going to see me here as much anymore- you've turned a pleasure into a pain and I'm not into that. Nor do I want all my info popping up on the screen of my every post. If someone wants to know that stuff they can check out my profile- if I'm not worth that much effort to them I'm not volunteering it! Which is why I deleted my interests and my pic this morning. Just when you get used to things and learn to use them someone changes them thinking it's an improvement when it usually isn't. One of the wisest rules to live by is: If it ain't broke, don't fix it! and I for one didn't notice anything broken. I prefer the old layout- I hope my voice will be heard- and a call to those who prefer the old layout- speak up! Silence is consent! Sad emoticon here along with a sad Bettypooh Link to comment

DD can't change back to the old style and as this is an every changing world of technology, i'm impressed the old layout lasted as long as it did. adapt or be left behind! *giggles* its gonna take me a little getting used to.. but you know the best way to get used to something new? just use it ALLL THE TIME!!!! I would of suggested using smf software though. I have a service contract and several thousand dollars invested in Invision's software across multiple sites. I have also found it to be the most secure, and their service the most responsive - which is why we don't have much spamming issues here. Link to comment

I read your answer and went into forum home and started putting my cursor on the time/date and yes they work as links to the last post. I thought you must have fixed it or I was just losing some more of my mind. I just clicked on the "view new content" link at the top right of a page and went to check the latest post in a thread and the time/date doesn't work as a link to last post. I copied it and pasted it here as an example, you will notice the poster is underlined as a link to the profile but the time/date is not. # 18 replies # Today, 05:08 PM by dodgedart Icon I would just like to say thank you for all you do with this site and I do appreciate it. I'm sorry if I was a little bitchy at first, I was just having a resistance to change moment. I will try to be constructive and helpful now. I understand DD's situation now but it still means that everyone has to learn how to use the new stuff which isn't working correctly yet- I still can't access a single emoticon though I see the cursor clicking the button- and I still dislike it for valid and concrete reasons. When those reasons are addressed to my satisfaction I'll be back as often as I once was. Till then if I can find a more comfortable place (which I may already have) then that's where you'll find me. That has been explained numerous times here. 2- DailyDi has spent MONEY, his own money, on keeping this site for you as well as others. 3- This version is faster, and better. Granted, there are a few bugs, and a little learning curve, but it IS better. 4- This is still a site, that YOU didn't pay for one cent towards, and you are still complaining about it! Next I clicked on the Members tab and it took me to members. I tried the DailyDiapes tab from the Members and it worked but took me to the DD Forums page. They probably put the wrong destination into the code when cutting and pasting. Pretty impressive for someone who can't even use all the features on her cell phone. Emoticons are working good though. Not only is it appealing to the eyes, it is easier to use, though, there are some new tricks that people will have to do when using assistive technologies, such as screen readers (I had my friend who is blind test the site with her screen reader today.) and other assistive technologies. I like the idea of someone wanting to write a how to article for the new format for those who are struggling to use it. I think i might do the same for those who use assistive technology. DailyDai, what would you think? If you like the idea, where can I put the article? Do I just send it to you: or, do I post it here? Please let me know. Sometimes I mix up what board I am on an almost posted the wrong board before. The features are all the same but we have a sleeker look. I like that two place I post to don't look the same anymore.
