  1. Thank you very much! This is a lot of good info, and I hope a good starting place for someone like me who is wanting to try this.
  2. Thanks for the good advice! If you don't mind my picking your brain, what do you use to punch the holes, and what size cath do you typically buy?
  3. So, there are these things called Snappi fasteners which work fantastically. It's what I use from time to time. Now, I actually like using diaper pins, the bigger ones I found work better. However, these will work just as good. Just make sure you're getting the Toddler size, not the infant size.
  4. Thank you for posting this! How do most of you cut/plug the end after inserted? Also, which would be better? The latex or silicone one?
  5. I have tried a few different types. While I like the velcro style that are out today, I find that there can be some irritation from the corners of the velcro patches. I found a company that does pocket diapers with snaps, just like babies are wearing today. I happen to like those. I also enjoy pre-fold diapers found on babykins.com (Kins is the adult line). However, with those you do need a diaper cover of some kind. I feel the best bang for buck will be at Happy Endings diapers.
  6. Would someone be willing to post a picture of a "good" holey foley that have used? I'm a little confused on how to clamp it off. I saw something about a zip tie. Unfortunately, I'm only getting bits and pieces of the information.
  7. Sounds great! Any thoughts or ideas on the whole not cutting slits in the Pampers?
  8. With all that being said, I think what I was looking for was a re-upload of some pictures and other things that have been lost. However, thank you for the breakdown of risk! You're right, there is risk inherent in all that we do, and we must do this as safe as possible.
  9. Okay, I have lurked this forum for a while now. Due to the database corruption issue where posts are cut off, I was wondering if you the community kind of came to a consensus on the mod'ed catheter thing. Like, do you have a best way to do it? Is there a way to safely mod one so that there isn't something beyond the tip but safely retrievable? How do you deal with the excess catheter tubing when you don't?
  10. That's interesting information. Good to know!
  11. With as much stuff with questionable quality in the Army, like the HMMWVs...I would hate to think of Army Adult Diapers. *shudders* Probably be worse than Depends.
  12. I have not. I like the Pampers size 6 the best because of the way it is constructed. Most diapers, adult diapers included, basically have a plastic sheet that the absorbent material is adhered to. The way Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers are constructed, the whole absorbent section is basically a fully contained pad that is adhered to the plastic backing. I can easily remove this pad from the backing and have a great insert without making a bunch of slices or holes, whereas other diapers I would have to do this. Point is, how I use those baby diapers may be drastically different from how you use them. I have not tried any size 7s as most of them come in larger quantities than I'm willing to buy for testing purposes. Also, the point of my post was to point out that size 7 diapers may be gaining interest or popularity.
  13. So, I enjoy model trains. I use to do HO. Now, I no longer have the room, and haven't for a long time. What I did was volunteer with a local museum that had an N, HO, and Lionel layout. I helped maintain and run those for the visitors. That was a few years back. I moved away from that area. Now, I volunteer with a Railroad Museum. I get to play with the real stuff. I have switched, coupled, uncoupled, and even drove real rail equipment. I have also seen Miniature Wunderland in Germany.
  14. I found the liners on the Happy Endings site to work very well.
  15. I was browsing Amazon when I came across a brand of cloth diapers called "Happy Endings", and I saw that they had some cute pocket diapers. Then I saw they had some labelled for "Teen/Adult" use. Now, I always get anxious when I see a diaper that can be for both teen and adult use. I wanted to see why it was for both, in the event this was one of "those" companies that were selling products with a "creepy" factor. After looking at their website and finding out why it was for both teens and adults, I determined that there was no creepy factor. This cloth diaper can be made shorter in length to accommodate someone about the size of a teen. With that being said, I will move on to my thoughts. This is a pocket style diaper, just like the babies today are being put in. The adult sizes come in two styles, one with snap closure and one with velcro closure. Each diaper comes with one insert when you buy it. My personal thoughts are that the snap style is shorter than the velcro style, and comes a bit short. As far as comfort goes, both of them are slim, comfortable, and fairly absorbent with the insert that comes with it. Finally, the customer service is top notch! I ended up having to send an email about an issue with the site and a coupon. They got back to me promptly and had fixed the issue. Also, when my order arrived, it was short one of the diapers. However, there was a note about the reason why (something about managing stock between sales and the website), and included a free gift. About a week later, the missing diaper arrived in the mail! To sum it up: Not creepy, great quality, comfortable, adorable prints, great customer service! If you wanted to look at getting pocket-style cloth diapers, I would give them a shot. Also, order from the web site, not Amazon.
  16. Interesting enough, Walmart has introduced size 7 in their brand of diapers.
  17. Those are so adorable! Well, I know what I want for Christmas now!
