  1. At the age of 70, 7 years ago, I had my prostate removed due to a spot of cancer. Total ED followed. I needed pads for 10 weeks for mild incontinence although I often later used them for insurance as the inner sphincter was removed. This is when I discovered the joys of wearing diapers. These days I frequently use catheters or modified catheters.
  2. Once I had an infection in the scrotum. Very painful and slow to respond to antibiotics. Hasn't put me off.
  3. No need to worry about a cystoscope. Mine was quite painless but then I am use to playing with catheters.
  4. Back in 2006 a friend of mine was diagnosed with prostate cancer. I asked my Dr about tests and he organised a PSA. I was outside the range. The morning pee had been slow for many years. It was wait and watch. After the PSA had climbed further, biopsies were taken. Negative. Still the PSA crept upwards. More biopsies in 2014, this time positive. Surprisingly the thought of the big C was no shock as I was convinced I already had it. My urologist was a surgeon and I wanted it out. After 3 months it was removed; especially large apparently. Erections become a thing of the past but at the ripe old age of 70, I didn't care. Together with the prostate, the inner sphincter is removed. I was partially incontinent for 10 weeks, requiring the use of pads. That was when I discovered diapers but settled on recreational use of pull ups which suited me better. In more recent years I have returned to the regular use of minimum thickness pads at other times, as passing wind is always problematic. I have never achieved a totally comfortable stent but really enjoy using a holey foley. Re erections, apparently there are pellets which can be inserted (not available in Oz where I live) or injections.
  5. I must be odd as I really enjoy bladder spasms. Frequently I use a holey foley catheter to achieve temporary incontinence. Usually it is only in for 12 hours or so. Sometimes I manage bladder spasms, sometimes not. I guess it depends on just which part of the bladder wall the balloon is touching.
  6. The inflation line is extremely thin and unlikely to retain any meaningful shape after the cath is withdrawn.
  7. Very sorry to hear about your experience dogles. I have had stents double over but always managed with the retrieval line. These days I am sticking to a "holey foley". By waving a hot flame over the cut I seem to achieve 100% comfort level. Early on, I found pull ups to be much more manageable than diapers, usually using Tena pants of varying thickness. Yesterday I experimented with the thickest of the Tena men's pads, level 3 (about 35grams, 1¼oz) and found it remarkable comfortable in the panties, (particularly in the hot weather here in Oz) going for 3hrs and 20min before leaking although I hadn't consumed much liquid. One is in place now and will be changed after two and a half hours.
  8. Soak in a mix of alcohol (methylated spirits) and water. About 80-90 % spirits. Rinse with boiled water.
  9. 12 FR is not normally just paediatric but available in the normal 40cm length. My urethra can accommodate 10mm sounds (30 FR) all the way in but is most comfortable with 14Fr catheters. The only downside with 12 FR is the very slow flow rate.
  10. Thank you for that. It would be interesting to see your Foley design.
  11. I use inexpensive 'regular liners' 24/7 in my panties just to catch the occasional dribble. They work well. In Australia they are tax free but men's pads attract a 10% tax.
  12. I'm not a girl but have had the prostate and inner sphincter removed. The only really comfortable stent I have managed is from a modified Foley catheter. Would love to see your design.
  13. For me bladder spasms are associated with the use of a Foley catheter and are brought on by the same stimuli that cause me to pee unexpected when diapered. Typically, I am standing at the kitchen bench with hands flat on the bench in front of me. An intense shiver begins down below and is quickly felt in the arms and hands. This is something I enjoy, being the next best thing to a climax. Having had the prostate out 7 years ago, a climax is but a distant memory.
  14. "It’s very low flow, low volume, episodic and drippy." I hope there isn't a prostate issue hiding there, ozni.
  15. When using a stent, I drip constantly. When changing, I wrap a piece of cloth around it held in place with an elastic band whilst wiping the remaining exposed skin with a baby wipe. Works well.
  16. If it was me I would. I delevoped prostate cancer in my 60s. Prostate removed.
  17. Certainly no holding in gas. One needs to have very understanding company as there is no control over gas.
  18. One two occasions I have had one in for 6 weeks. Back to normal very quickly afterwards.
  19. Sorry you had that experience with catheters. I've been messing with them on and off for 16 years. The urinary tract very looses it sensitivity to catheters. I can slip one in and out without thought. Mostly I use a 'holy foley' into pull ups when in the mood.
