Unless the nurse is going to "Scope your penis" which I doubt, (Camera up your junk...) my guess is she will check your vitals and check to see how much blood is passing thru, if any. She (Or He, I guess) might also want to check how much urine you're passing. I say this based on chats I've had with guys who have had prostate surgery, with a catheter afterwards.

Thanks for the update!! I think a lot of us following this thread are very interested in how this turns out for you. Try to get the passport thing done ASAP. I have a co-worker who had to get a passport last summer, and it took him a couple months, although I've heard that you can expedite the process for an extra fee. You mentioned staying at the hotel rather than the recovery center. .. They have a recovery center there? Does that cost a lot more than the hotel? I'm just curious, for when I decide to get the surgery. I'm guessing the recovery center has a nurse to check on you? You mentioned in an earlier post that they take the catheter out after 5 days, and you have to stay for several days after that. Are there follow-up visits to the clinic during that time? You mention being concerned about calling family and friends after surgery.... Couldn't you just e-mail them, or do a Facebook post? I don't think that would reveal your location. Hope everything keeps going smoothly!!

What did the doc tell you about side effects? Will you still be able to get an erection? Will you have to bring your own diapers when they take out the catheter?

I wonder what the staff think, knowing they are making another guy diaper-dependent for life... 😁

Did you have to pay a deposit already? Are they going to put you under for the surgery? Or will you be awake? Just imagine how exciting it's going to be when you leave the clinic, knowing you are diaper-dependent for life !!

You can go to the TSA website and download this Notification card. The white bar is blank, but it lets you type in what you want. If you get stopped by the TSA in the airport, showing them this card gets you a private screening. This is the one I carry in my wallet. No, I have not had the chance to use it since I printed and laminated it.

I assume the surgery is done thru the urethra and no other incisions are made in the groin? Did he say you would need diapers by the time you left Mexico? Or would you still have a catheter in? I did go to the website, and inquired about the surgery. So how hard was it to schedule the surgery? Did they question your motives? Did they require a referral from a psychologist, like some docs do for SRS surgeries?

Little Sherri, regarding your "Diaper Overstock"..... What about your attic? In our house, the attic access door is in the closet of our bedroom. It doesn't have a fold-down stairway, I need a ladder to get up there. Because of this, I'm the ONLY one who goes up there... A perfect place to stash extra diapers.

I wonder if they would insert a stent, like the Memokath stent, for a smaller fee.

Ya know, you can wear a diaper at night, even without hypnosis. You will still wake up to pee, but no need to rush to the toilet and risk falling down.

I had a CT scan a few years back, for my kidneys and bladder. They required me to drink 32 ounces of water a half hour before the scan. I was about ready to burst by the time they got me on the scan table. Luckily, I wore a thick diaper for the scan, because half way thru the procedure, my "Hold ability" gave out, and I flooded my diaper!! I asked the technician if the scan would be ruined because I wet my diaper, she just smiled and said "Yeah, that happens... It will be ok."

About 200 ml. If I try to go further, I'm leaking in my pants... or in my diapers. I have a measured container, and if I'm at home, I'll use it to pee in, so I can check my capacity. If I'm much over 200 ml, I'm doing the potty dance.

When I'm not diapered during the day, I usually wear a Depends RealFit pull-up. When I use a public restroom, I usually get pretty close to the urinal - not touching it, but within a few inches. I pull down my brief with my left thumb, and get "The horse outa the barn" with my right hand. (Ok, ok... Shetland pony..) A perv would almost have to have his head IN the urinal to see anything. 😂😆😎😲

I was diapered when I went in for my last colonoscopy. I told the prep nurse that I wet the bed, so I was diapered since I usually wet when I'm asleep. She said it was ok, and that it's a lot more common than I might think. For the colonoscopy, they just un-taped one side of my diaper and folded it back, to do the procedure. Afterwards, they just taped my diaper back up. As it turned out , I was wet when I woke up, so the diaper was needed.

Didn't have disposable diapers when I was born.... So cloth diapers and plastic pants. (Just like I wear now!!)

Of course, you'll have to re-calculate next year...Leap Year. 😂🤣😆😁

I had my last colonoscopy 3 years ago. I was also diapered when I got there. After I undressed down to my diaper and put the gown on, the nurse came back in to prep me. I told her I wet whenever I slept, so I was diapered. (She could see the diaper from the back of the gown.) She told me that it was more common than I might think, and it would be no problem. For the procedure, they just un-taped one side of my diaper and folded it back, then re-fastened it when they were done. As it turned out, I was wet when I woke up, so it was a good thing I was diapered.

There are postings on this topic on Fetlife. A few people say it's possible to stretch your sphincter to the point of causing incontinence, using larger and larger catheters. However, it's done over a period of MONTHS, not days.
