She was reprimanded to provide cover to the Senior Executive who is protecting John. This provides deterrence for Darlene pursuing any further claim. Unfortunately this is a classic corporate move that I have seen repeatedly over my career although probably not as dramatically as this story. Usually provides cover for a sexual advance or inappropriate remarks.

Great update. I am a little surprised that Clark’s Mom has not called out the SWAT team to save him from a “cult”. It was good to see pizza girl back, that should be interesting!

If I am remembering correctly didn’t Lisa’s Aunt & Uncle essentially foster her? Since they have experience with a child with incontinence they would seem to be a good fit. The only issue would be if they would also be willing to take in the 3 yr old in order not to split up the family. That would be a big ask.

Those are hilarious stories. I had a college friend that would never hold back a fart and was very proud of his loud and smelly farts. We were out drinking beer on a Friday night and then ended up eating a massive Denny’s breakfast at 1:00 in the morning. For some reason I had agreed to play pickup basketball @8:00 am Saturday. I dragged myself out of bed to go pickup my buddy. Went into his apartment, he was more hungover then I was and was brewing coffee to go. He cut a couple of stinky farts and I thanked him for sharing. I had felt my own gut gurgling and decided to relieve some pressure. I released a fart of a least 10 seconds that grew louder as it progressed. I finished this off with 3 short farts that came out quickly. My friend asked if it felt better and I told him yes! I then started sniffing and it was by far the worst smelling fart I had ever done with the combination of the beer, eggs and sausage that I had eaten the previous evening. A few seconds later my buddy starts smelling and states “oh my god, are you OK? He then runs and opens his sliding glass door and starts wrenching into the bushes on his patio. He left the door open to clear out the smell. He asks if I need to go to the ER, I laugh and assure him no, he said he was serious as he had never smelled anything that bad. After he recovered we drove to the basketball game and he proceeded to tell all the guys about my disgusting fart trying to shame me. Of course almost everyone there had been a victim of one of his farts in a car or small area so they had no sympathy, in fact I was quite the hero. This was over 40 years ago and remains one of my proudest moments.

Early on there was a reference to an old joke about a Swede and a Jew, I didn’t get the joke and assumed it was based on some type of stereotype. There was also a reference to getting a good Jewish accountant, again another stereotype, why not just say they got a top notch or sharp accountant. There was a third reference that I can no longer remember. I always think when using a reference such as these, would I use it if speaking with one of my Jewish friends and if I did would they be offended. I think in both instances I would not want to repeat these jokes to them and yes they may very well be offended. Neither of these references are crucial to the story and could easily be rewritten to not include a reference to a religion or stereotype.

All of the commentary and speculation shows how good the writing is by @minnesotawriter. It will be interesting to see the mom’s background to see where her fixations on potty training and Christmas come from. Keep up the great writing!

Nice writing. I would like the royalties from the pill that causes spontaneous ejaculation. I would then take the profits and develop my specialty line of diapers for men experiencing this and the following urinary incontinence. I am pretty sure I would be among the world’s wealthiest in short order.

Thanks for the update, your writing is excellent. Maybe I have just missed it in the story, are Emily and Joyce lovers? Or are they just mother/little girl relationship. Emily mentioned getting handsy in these last chapters, otherwise I keep waiting for some passion to show, maybe it is just in the background and not part of the story so far.

That is good news. The airplane scene in this story is one of my all time favorites. I am very interested how this story will be completed.

I agree with several of Kerry’s observations. I found the writing good, since the story started with the premise of a medical mistake I was willing to commit to the premise. His mother was mentioned briefly but never discussed again. I thought maybe this was going to create the tension in the story however she was never mentioned again. I fully expected Mom to show up and create more conflict, possibly fighting over a financial settlement to take care of the “baby”. Even though there is some disappointment in this story I do commend Garvug on the overall writing skills and hope you continue writing.

Great update, just wondering when Darleen will drop the fact that Avery should not order his adult diapers using company property. I had to address employees using company computers inappropriately, the look on the employees face of the person when they realized they had been busted was priceless! Fortunately never had to address a second time, company policy was they would be fired.

I suspect that we will see one of the famous internal memo’s stating that an employee had a mental crisis in the office and is receiving treatment. And please respect his privacy. This story actually brings out the diapers to friends and family. So many stories tend to paint the characters as having no contact with their previous life or family. I think we are all waiting on the edge of our seats to see how Clark explains all of this to his Mom. Thanks QuitelyHumiliated for continuing this story!

Once again you nailed the corporate life. Almost every IT Manager I have worked with cannot wait for you to finish your thought and jumping to a defense of their department. I finally learned to interrupt them and ask them to let me clarify the request I was making. Hopefully Darlene will take Avery in and protect him as one of her team.

Really good insights into how corporations will protect toxic employee’s because of their supposed value. I experienced this with a senior manager for 10 years because the CEO liked having a bulldog to fix “problems “. Once he was caught lying (again) he was finally fired and the company was much more functional.

I totally followed all the math, I was surprised Avery did not think to adjust the modulation of the flux capacitor, I am sure that would solve all the problems.

I will say that I was not convinced however her actions at the 38:00 mark make me question. She starts to turn around and then rather unnaturally puts her arms behind her to block the view and then turns around quickly. This seems to be a move that someone worried about diaper lines would do rather than a natural dance move.

Have had several incidents over the years. Started buying Attends at Drug Stores and then they discontinued. Started using Depends Overnights and found a local grocery store had the best price. I would watch the kids while my wife would go grocery shopping so I would ask her to pick up a bag. My wife came back one day and said the cashier asked about you. I said really? She said when she was checking out the cashier scanned the Depends and said that she really wished they had these when her oldest had his bedwetting problem, she said I bet they work really well. My wife said she told her all about my problems with bedwetting and medical issues that had resulted in my night diapers. i guess I looked incredulous, she then started laughing and said she was pulling my leg, she had just told the cashier they were useful and she had a coupon for them. Several years later I was purchasing diapers by the case from a medical supply store that I could use my lunch hour to run out and purchase. I was making my usual purchase of 4 bags in a case to get the discounted price. They only had two bags of the regular that I normally use and two bags of overnight. I asked the price difference and he said no difference in cost, just the overnight had 5 less diapers per pack. I was evaluating if I wanted to do this or make another trip back in a week when they came back in stock. The guy helping me who was probably in his forties looks at me and said you know for using overnight you should really use the heavier diaper as it will prevent the need for changes or possible leaks. I had never discussed the needs I had or if the diapers were for me so he was probably making an assumption (that was correct). I told my wife I thought I had bedwetter stamped on my forehead. My wife said it probably meant more middle aged men have this problem than I would guess. I hated to confirm this guy’s evaluation but I proceeded with buying the overnight diapers and then eventually switched to them full time so it turned out he was correct. Probably if I had been younger I would have walked out in embarrassment but being in my 40’s myself I just shrugged it off and completed the purchase.

My wife and I watch a show here in the US called Flea Market Flip where they have a competition to see who can upcycle items for the most profit. Your project reminds me of this show, I am always amazed at the creativity of many people and how they can reimagine some very nasty items. You seem to have this talent, you should post a before and after photo to show the improvements.

I have to say that my overall upbringing was very good however my bedwetting was one issue that was not handled very well. I was the only bedwetter of 4 kids with one brother and two sisters. As far as I can remember I was out of diapers by age 4. I was encouraged to go to the bathroom before bed and fluids were restricted in the evening. There was clear disapproval with the daily wet beds. I had an old shower curtain under my sheet which was very uncomfortable to say the least. I would pee so much that I was not allowed a pillow because it would be ruined. What is not clear to me is why my bedding was only laundered every couple of weeks, the pee was just allowed to dry however there were nights when I went to bed and there were still wet spots. I was only diapered for a camping vacation for a week, they just surprised me with an all in one diaper on the first night of vacation (the events of this vacation no doubt led to my diaper fetish but that is a different long story). My bedwetting persisted into my teens, I think my Dad had me join the Boy Scouts to embarrass me out of wetting. While my bedwetting started to diminish around 12 I would still end up wetting my sleeping bag a couple of times on a week long summer camp. Looking back what i think was strange is my parents never discussed my problem with my pediatrician or specialist, i had ear problems and was taken to a specialist for those issues. They tried a couple of folk remedies that did not work. This was the 60’s and I guess these kind of problems that were just associated with laziness and were not considered medical issues. i dried up at 15 1/2 when I finally entered puberty. I don’t think my parents did anything to assist except leave memories of shame for something that was beyond my physical control.

I had started reading this story a couple of times and then would give up because of the length and my lack of time. I am glad that I put in the time to finally read the entire story. The writing is excellent, even if I sometimes don’t follow some of the “British” language and customs. The only items that bothered me were the Jewish references, I don’t think these would be acceptable in the US as they would be viewed as antisemitic. I certainly would not use these references to one of my Jewish friends. If this is ever converted to a book form I would suggest revisions in those references.

I couldn’t remember if there was a reference to age or how long he had been with the company for it to make sense that they had hooked up.

This is really a great story, I appreciate your character development. That Ava is really a dirty/nasty girl, or as I like to say my dream girl! I started reading this today and I had an epiphany about Lyndie and Anderson. My thought was that Anderson was Lyndie’s former boyfriend that had not moved out of her apartment and had gradually put the pieces together about what was going on at the company. I thought I had cracked the secret like in The Sixth Sense, alas it was something different. It turns out that like usual that I never get these things correct.

I would like to think that my family would not buy no contact for this length of time even if I was at sea. I think anyone would question why no contact with emails or satellite phones or shore leave all being possible points of contact. My point here is that Nomadic has brought up the possibility of a humiliating meeting with his family while most authors seem to gloss over any chance of the new lifestyle being discovered. This is a great first story, being a person with 50 great stories in my head but unable to seem to get them written I greatly respect your work! Looking forward to more fascinating chapters.
