  1. Now that he’s a fall risk and shouldn’t be getting out of bed by himself, they typically arm the bed alarm that senses a reduction of the weight on the bed. So, if he tries to get to the bathroom on his own, the alarm goes off letting everyone in the vicinity that he’s not complying with the staff’s instructions.
  2. I wouldn't worry too much about needing a diaper during the colonoscopy. First off, they can't do the colonoscopy if you've got a diaper on. They had a disposable underpad under me when I had it done. When I woke up the pad was rather wet with what came out both ends. The nurse quickly changed that out when they realized I was now conscious and ready to start getting ready to leave.
  3. I’m beginning to think the Magician is a bit of a misogynist. Surely, there are some obnoxious males in that society who could use an education.
  4. Take a look at adultclothdiaper.com. I use their Leakmaster gauze diapers regularly and am quite satisfied with them.
  5. Sorry to hear things haven’t worked out as you had hoped. I was really hoping the surgery would have helped you achieve your desires as I’ve had the same desires for a very long time.
  6. I’m curious about his recommendations going forward. It sounds like there is no problem requiring surgical intervention, so what did he say you should do to solve your retention problem?
  7. With a heavy cloth diaper and snug fitting waterproof pants, I seldom have any leaks. Keeping the diaper close to the body is the key to preventing leaks.
  8. The thing that I’ve learned over my years of wearing diapers is that people are too involved in their own lives to really notice details of anyone around them. We may be very conscious of the bulk of our diapers, but other people are unlikely to notice or if they do they only likely to think you’re a little fat.
  9. He did check the forum yesterday, but didn’t leave any updates.
  10. Over the years, there were a number of times that I messed my pants or my diapers (after I’d been put back into them after toilet training). I tried to hide the evidence of my misbehavior. Sometimes I was successful, other times not. The first time I messed my pants and was caught landed me back in diapers for an extended period of time. As I got older, I got better at concealing the evidence. However, even then, I was occasionally found out because of stupid mistakes that led to some uncomfortable grilling by my mother.
  11. I’m glad to hear you’re doing well.
  12. I think the assumption is that adult diapers will get changed more frequently than kid’s diapers and therefore don’t need the extra absorbency.
  13. I’m glad things are going so well for you. I suspect you won’t be too happy with pull-up diapers when it comes time to change. Most of the time you have to undress completely below the waist, including shoes, to get the wet diaper off and the new one on. I’ve found that cloth diapers are economically the best choice around the house and for night use. They don’t have the capacity of disposable diapers, but over time, they are a lot less expensive. At night, they are less likely to leak. Good luck, I’m certainly envious. When I was your age, I would have jumped at the chance to do what you’ve done if such a procedure had been available. As it is, I no longer really need to be incontinent to wear diapers. Nearly everyone almost expects people my age to be wearing diapers and my underwear confirms their expectations.
  14. If I were dealing with prostate cancer, I’d ask for exactly the procedure you had. It is definitely an improvement over the older open surgery technique with a quicker recovery and fewer abdominal muscles disrupted. However, it still has exposed incisions that are potential sources of infection. Were you able to regain bladder control after the surgery?
  15. The problem with taking the abdominal route to the sphincter is that you are now in the realm of open surgery cutting through the skin and abdominal muscles to get to the sphincter. The TURP route has a faster recovery and less likely chance of infection.
  16. When you have the time and are in a safe location (home), it would be worthwhile to experiment with the diaper of your choice and see how long you can go before the diaper starts to leak. It’s good information to know if you ever need to push a diaper to it limit.
  17. It will interesting to hear how your first day back at work went. You’ve jumped into the deep end of the incontinence pool and will have to learn how to swim in a hurry. It took me years to learn all the nuances of managing incontinence.
  18. The article seems to be aimed at people with light to medium levels of incontinence. I’ve never found all-in-one diapers to be of value except for short term use.
  19. That’s great to hear. Given your earlier comments about the blockages and such, I thought you might have ended up in an emergency room. I’m sure we’ll all be interested in your experiences with your new condition. Even though I worked at becoming incontinent for many years, I discovered that “wanting” to be incontinent and “being” incontinent are distinctly different experiences.
  20. While I hope you’re right, 48 hours with no word from him is concerning.
  21. Years ago I tried tucking, but things never stayed in place very long. These days I don’t have to be concerned about that and couldn’t tuck things in even if I wanted to. My penis has shrunk so much that it has withdrawn into my body and is no longer exposed most of the time thanks to age and medications for blood pressure and BPH.
  22. I hope everything is okay. @Reddyhas been silent for an unusually long time.
  23. I hope the extended time using the catheter solves your problem. I thought removing it after five days was a bit on the optimistic side. Nearly everyone who’s had any type of urinary surgery that I’ve heard of has needed to use a catheter for ten days after the surgery and needed to stay near the surgeon’s office or be able to return to it for that entire time.
  24. I just looked at the Trest diapers on Amazon and the price seems ridiculous. $4.50/per diaper is very high. The Seni Quattro diapers I use are $1.87/diaper when purchased by the case. I can easily wear them for 8 hours without leaking and still have some reserve capacity. It seems like you go broke very quickly if you wore Trest diapers regularly.
  25. Hope you survived your trip with no major problems. I’m experienced at traveling while incontinent and know it can be a challenge, especially on your first trip.
