  1. Same here I have seen and heard some of her stuff, and like it. I am not a follower. My "radar" popped up up some years ago when her antics made news. I thought "here we go again, this is another one who will not last long." Sadly, I was right. It's sad that those of us on the outside can see the destructive behavior of "stars," but can do nothing about it. "Insiders" don't seem to care, are in on it too, can't seem to see problems because they are too close and things seem normal, or just don't have the "balls" to make an intervention. (After all, they're "living the high life" off the "star." lol) A friend, my age, played w/Hendrix. He can tell some stories. Edited to add; RIP, Amy. The devils are gone now.
  2. Yep, been there, done that, doing it now.
  3. Agree on who cares. UPS, USPS, FedEx, and most others have assigned routes/coverage areas. Unless the driver was a fill in, or in the case of USPS, doing a swing shift, "one" will see the same person many times.
  4. Morv, sorry to hear, my condolences. Mal, if Mr J is still around, wish him my best. We lost my 89.5 yr old dad in March. Was fine until he took a turn for the worse. Had to hospital then hospice him for the two weeks before his death. It was hell, he was full of IV's & feeding tubes. He could not communicate, although I think he could still understand us and did answer us with head nods or shakes. On his birthday last August, the first time in my adult life, I gave him a big hug & told him I loved him. He seemed a little shocked because we've never been a "hugging," "love you," family. I'm glad I did it. Sadly, my brother and I were on our way to visit him in Hospice when we got the phone call that he had passed. He died alone. >cry< I was visiting my maternal grandfather in the hospital many years ago when he "died." I had him resuscitated and he lived another five days or so while the family could give our last goodbyes. This may seem like an odd footnote, it is an FYI, because many people don't know this; Credit card debt in the US is an "unsecured loan." When the cardholder dies, there is no way the CCC's can collect. Yea, they will write, call, and try to bully the survivors into paying. Don't fall for it! My dad had somewhere between $50,000 to $100,000 on credit cards when he died. There is no way his insurance policies or remaining family could pay them. You wouldn't believe some of the conversations my brothers and I have had with them. We keep repeating "F" off, you CANNOT collect, they keep threatening lawsuits, garnishments, and other methods that may work in other debts, but NOT on CC's. Again, sorry for rambling, but I hope the last paragraph helps someone.
  5. No offense, but you should be willing to listen to what EVERYBODY has to say. What everyone else said above. A location may help to give us an idea of your background for chats. Obviously, it is required if looking for meet ups. Be patient.
  6. Welcome! There is lots of info here to help you and I'm sure more will comment to you directly.
  7. Am I reading this right? Are you saying that there are shift levers on the left side or that one has to put both hands on levers to the right? It's been a veeery long time since I've driven big rigs. We had 4-10 gear transmissions and split differentials. The in/out, up/down for the differential was an up/down cable attached to the main shifter. Hehe & side note; I've driven trucks with so many levers they almost went out the passenger door. The regular stick shift with the above split differential cable on it or sometimes it was a separate lever. Then we go to the PTO lever that engaged the 3-4 winches, each with it's own lever. Try to operate that while half laying on one's back out the driver's door so one can see what one is doing. (Think construction, but mainly utility/phone pole installation and removal.)
  8. As above, I'm one who would use chemicals and wait six months to a year when it is then very easy to remove. We rented a "Bobcat" w/the backhoe attachment for a job. After the job, took it over to a friends where he had a very big, (4'+ diameter,) stump he wanted to remove. Dug & dug. We had an almost 15' by 6' deep crater, still cutting roots, but nowhere near getting it out. Fortunately, sort of, the rental place had forgotten to top off the Diesel fuel before letting it out. (I had wondered why the gauge read below half full during the original job.) Ran out of fuel around dusk. Had to call the next day and wait for the rental company's mechanic to show up. (Diesel's require special procedures to re start after running out of fuel.) The good thing is we got an extra free day on the rental and were able to get the stump out and the hole back filled before returning the machine.
  9. You still don't get it! (And wow! Another post full of errors! ) What I and everyone is saying is that one has to make "fairly decent" posts to be understood & accepted. So far, you haven't. I'm beginning to think you're a Troll. This will probably be my last comment in this thread unless you make another extremely bad or error filled comment. Look at all the "negatives" you have collected on your posts. I have said it before and am repeating it again; "...Clean up your posts, make them readable, or get off this site!"
  10. From my experience as a builder, building inspector, and in other, (sometimes legal,) areas, that is the best advice! CYA so that if anything comes down, you have it all on record. BTW, there are chemicals available that will "destroy" tree stumps. One drills as many 1/2 to 3/4 inch holes as deep a they can in a stump. Insert chemicals, keep wet, & let Nature take it's course. I did that one late summer, the next spring, (cabin is closed from Oct to May,) it almost came out by shovel. Well... with the help of an axe to break some of it up. lol It worked so well we were able to go 2-3 feet below ground level. Can't cure "idiot" neighbors, but I wonder why, with the "....during a fire ban and with high wind," he didn't think of hiring one of those trailer mounted, big chipper wheel, stump destroyers?
  11. We had two wood coasters in the Detroit area, Edgewater Park on the W side & Walled Lake Park out in the Novi area. Was to Edgewater Park several times with groups or family. When I started driving, went a few times more. Even in the mid-'60's, it started to be a place NOT to hang out at. My friends and I went to Walled Lake almost every Saturday night for 2-4 years. We would get there in time for opening, head straight to the coaster, and ride it all night until closing. Sometimes we never had to get off & reload and rode 6-12 cycles, then if there were new riders on the platform, we had to get off. Obviously, we made friends with the operators. We got away with things that would NEVER be tolerated now. Often, one of the two operators would jump on the "running boards" and ride with us, walking around, talking, & then joining us or others for the end of the ride. We found out how to unlock the bars so we could stand up, (hands in the air,) and walk around on the "running boards" like the operators did. Reportedly, but also may be an "old wives" tale, the Walled Lake coaster had the highest and fastest "first drop" in the world when it was built and retained the title for many years. The bottom of the first was actually 3-5 feet below ground/grade level.
  12. Oops, this in a very old thread so I shouldn't even really be commenting. Clicking on the above link got me a "404" "The requested URL /accessories.htm was not found on this server" error. If anyone has an update, please post.
  13. No, your post was NOT "very understandable." A couple people above backed me up on that. You need to get a grip on reality & understand that you NEED to make sensible posts. Your reply, quoted above, makes me sick, not only is it again a one long run on sentence that should be a paragraph or two, but it is again filled w/dozens of errors that could have been corrected by you with the dozens tools we are given. I have NEVER said this before, but I am in a very bad mood right now. Clean up your posts, make them readable, or get off this site! Sorry to all my other friends for the rant. This "guy" just set me off.
  14. Hi and WELCOME! From the sounds of this first post, it seems you already have a baby to take care of. You sound very interesting. Looking forward to more posts from you. You being in "nottinghamshire, England" and I in Detroit, MI, USA, my wish for a mommy or auntie like you is still a dream.
  15. No. it won't. All the CC does is remove the body and do an autopsy, if someone deems it necessary, then forwards it to a funeral home. The "cleanup" falls on family & friends. Trust me, been there, done that, not the best of times.
  16. I tented/camped for many years in the '70' & '80's. Some very remote, others close together as part of group get together's and/or events. I did, and still do "carry out." As always, I and we MUST carry out what we "packed in." I now have a cottage w/a semi private beach. (Another cottage has been family owned for years. so I have been there summers since birth.) I'll leave it at this; don't ask me about what I've done there, diapered & dressed, mostly in the middle of the night. One year I had an encounter with a skunk, that I originally thought was a cat, while walking the beach. Fortunately we had a short conversation & we seemed to understand each other before it went its way & I went mine. Would have been very hard to explain why I smelled of skunk when I was supposed to be in bed!
  17. Two points without doing a lot of quoting nor commenting on the OP. Rubber, plastic, & sometime later, Vinyl, baby & adult bed sheets have been around since the early '50's. I know. Probably even earlier, but that's as far back I can remember. Back as a child I had severe allergies to many things. Those days, a feather pillow was the only kind one could buy. You would not believe the swelling of my eyes and face, and my nearly dying, not being able to breathe right, after sleeping unprotected on one. I had "special" pillowcases, zippered at one end, to completely enclose the feathers. We added one or two regular pillowcases over them to avoid sweating & other issues. I don't remember what materiel they were, but they were some sort of plastic/rubber combination. We had to make sure we had at least one or two with me when we traveled or were at the cottage.
  18. Tights or pantyhose being worn to a concert on a hot summer night???? I wear "boy cut" boxer/bike short style pantie girdles to keep everything up & together. Not sure how that would look under a short jean skirt. I have never tried that combination under my short skirt. There are lots of low, mid, & high cut pantie girdles out there. I would suggest something like that. Like the others said, prepare, test, dress how you want, and enjoy! Oh yea. I've found it a good idea to carry a complete change of clothing & underwear in the car when going to events. One never knows when it may rain, like the sudden storm over Giant's Stadium in NJ during Bon Jovi's first, (of three,) "Have a Nice Day" Homecoming shows in '06. (It was 100+F that day. No predictions of rain. The storm, more like a Monsoon, only lasted for 15-20 minutes. Fortunately, I and my friends were already under dry cover.) It also helps when one finds themselves coming across the two or three 'idiots' in the whole venue that decide to have a water, beer, or pop fight. Been there, got caught in it.
  19. Very belated, but I hope you had a fantastic birthday! At 60+, I've pretty much passed on celebrating them. Since my teens, only two stand out. The "surprise" party family & friends gave me about 6 yrs ago, & last Tue, (7-5, my actual b'day,) that was my best one ever! Last year was a disaster! I started to run some errands, locked my gate, tried to turn, & one of my "thongs/flip lops" broke causing my feet to "tangle" & my landing face first on the concrete driveway. Somewhat funny scene now in retrospect, but at the time it was very bloody & painful. lol Again, happy birthday & I hope you had a good one!

    Hello!

Hello & Welcome Natalya! You have me & many new friends here. From your only post, it seems you will "fit well" here. As others said above, there are threads that address your situation. My radar is tingling, but I will reserve further comment until you have posted more. lol
  21. Considering traffic, construction, & other issues, that could place you "next door" to me near City Airport or "way out" in the "burbs." lol
  22. I kinda figured that. Was just razzing you. lol
