I remember my cloth diaper experience from the early-mid 80's. When I was first born, and until the time I was around 2 1/2 - 3, I was always put in the boxed Pampers, but then my mom started to put me in cloth diapers in plastic pants from the time I was near 3 and onward until age 4 to 4 1/2. I think she imagined they would make me "train" faster (but that was not to be ).

I know the show may have "stuffed" lockers from time to time, but it does make for a more entertaining show. Most storage lockers I've seen in real life are full of boring stuff that people thank is worth money, but actually isn't (Beanie Babies, 1990's Baseball Cards, CD-ROM software from 1993, dirty clothing, fake china, etc.).

I keep my fingers crossed. If nothing else, I've met some friendly faces for a beer and some good conversation. We just have to keep our heads up. Texas is a lot more unconventional than people give it credit for being

Ha! Too funny. I will have to watch the episode to see it. I loved watching Daryl and "Brad-o" and I love how exited Dan and Laura would get over the bidding wars. Barry is a hoot as well. I figured Barry was the one who got the locker, he would always have something wise to say about the lockers he gets

Love watching Storage Wars when I get the opportunity. It's strangely addicting, and Brandy's a cutie. By the way, which team got the diaper locker?

"Don't Break The Ice" was a wonderful board game! I always loved playing that when I was well beyond the recommended age group it's advertised for. Would love to play it with somebody right now (grabs plastic hammer).

If there are any, I'd like to know about them. I like meeting AB/DL's in person, it always makes me feel like less of a 'loner'. If you happen to find anything, let me know.

All good advice. I appreciate the post and it looks like several of us still struggle with this. I've got a big ugly table fan from the 70's that's fairly loud, and I love to have that blowing on full blast during the summer, it's hard to sleep without a little white noise.

Seems like every year from late May to Late August, I find it more difficult to follow a regular sleeping routine due to summer insomnia. I stay active during the days with work, exercise, etc. but when it's night time, I'm just not tired. Feeling kinda like a zombie right now during the middle of the day due to lack of regular sleep. Does anybody else ever get a yearly fit of insomnia during the hot summer months?

Prefolds are my favorite type of cloth diaper. One advantage to hemming the ends would be that it may hold up to more washings. I love to see colored thread used on the edges, looks so cute.

Looks legit, I dig the half hidden giant box of 1970's purple Pampers on the bottom right! Some of the Japanese text on the right panel reads: "Diaper Mania!", "Breast Love", and "THIS is Infant Play"

There has been one reoccurring dream that I have had for years: In the dream I am 10 or 11 years old and am staying with a girl a few years younger than me. We will be playing Nintendo, or playing outside on her swing-set. Suddenly the girls mother will come out and announce that somebody needs their stinky pants changed, at this point I am a little surprised that the younger kid is still in diapers, then much to my surprise, the mom puts her hands on my shoulders, and says something along the lines of "come on little one, did you think I didn't know?". I look to the younger girl and she says: "It's OK, go let my momma change your dirty diaper" (as she is fanning her fan in front of her face), then the mother takes my hand and walks me to her room to change me into/out of a diaper. I still have the dream on occasion, though it's a little different every time. Sometimes I'm a child, other times I am my present age, everybody behaves as though it's a completely typical situation.

Sometimes it can be fun to thumb through the diaper pattern books at the craft stores. It really surprises me how elaborate some of the diapers can be. Of course you would have to make the measurements so that they fit you, but this would lead to a customized diaper just for you.

That's great that you decided to give cloth a try. Babykins makes some nice 'n soft cloth diapers and training pants.I had some of them years back when they were under the "DPF" label and sold through that business. I was raised on Pampers as an 80's baby, but now I only wear gauze & twill weave cloth diapers when I'm at home. I think cloth is absolutely wonderful, very bulky & billowy, and the way that they feel when they're wet is always very sensual. I use disposables for travel, but it's always out of practicality and never seems to provide the satisfaction of cloth diapers and plastic pants. Your mileage may vary.

I only fly diapered (I'm way too tall for those goofy half-pint plane potty's). I have been through many checkpoints while wearing a dry Abena M4. Thankfully my experiences so far have been neutral to positive. They just wave me through and tell me to have a safe trip. If you are soaking wet, they may ask you to change and then come back and re-enter (no liquids on the plane, even if you are wearing them), but as many people as they see, they are bound to have seen an adult diaper. Don't sweat it, people just want to do their jobs and go home at night.

I think that most younger parents (that I talk to anyway) are a lot more open-minded than the parents of 40 years ago. Looking back, I was fairly lucky to have a mom and dad who let me take my time with it, I was nearly 4 and still had occasional accidents for years, but that's what it took for me, and every kid is a little different. B'sides, Toilets are overrated.

I always got the feeling that the mentioned company has their head firmly placed up their ass when it comes to fulfilling orders and generally succeeding at being a decent source for adult diapers. Always had perfect customer service with all of the following:

I could think of several 'practical' applications for why they are manufactured and sold to the public other than just to cater to AB/DL's: If a caretaker is looking after somebody who may otherwise spill a cup of liquid, or maybe not be able to use a straw, a bottle could be extremely useful. It's an easy to use way of getting liquid to a person, since sucking is instinctive in humans. The larger nipples are useful for providing a calming effect to larger users (older children and adults). Like Baby Brian mentioned, sucking is therapeutic for both children and adults.
