  1. Bringing this back from the dead... it seems to me at least the Walgreens Certainty brand has gone downhill, at least with the briefs I use. I know at this price point you don't expect awesome fit or capacity, but with the latest iteration, they seem to rip at the back if you attempt to get them tight to any degree. So in 2023, does anyone know of something at a comparable price point (say < $1.00 / brief in smallish quantities like 20) that at least won't fall apart? Years ago I wore the CVS brand then switched to Walgreens when it seemed they were selling exactly the same diaper for less money. But now at least in photos, the CVS ones look different (from Walgreens) - might they be any better?
  2. I have a coworker who in spite of generally being a nice guy, buys into the "war on Christmas" BS.
  3. So I think I've seen some mention of this before but I've never seen a real thread about it...
  4. Well hopefully not to fan the flames too much but let me throw out a few thoughts.
  5. Let me share a related problem that drives me nuts... maybe someone has a solution?
  6. Hey just to correct one point made above... some cloth-like diapers have tapes that work like Velcro and can be refastened many times as described above, but some don't.
  7. One big possible difference: if it's fulfilled by Amazon, it'll show up in Amazon packaging.
  8. I've gone through a bunch of these recently and pretty much agree with what others have said - they're incredibly comfortable and discreet / not very "diapery". They are 10x more "clothlike" than other diapers I've worn that make that claim. So depending on what you like, you'll probably either love or hate them. Two things I'd point out that have not been mentioned yet: these are definitely for "#1" and not "#2" - 90% of the absorbency is in the front and part of the rear isn't padded at all (I'm talking about the men's ones). And about people not noticing them if they're visible: they have very obvious seams down the sides and I've never seen underwear that looks like that. So if someone was pretty observant they might notice, although they probably would not identify them as diapers, just unusual underwear. Oh and one other thing I find especially odd: they're not available in white! If you're like me and almost exclusively wear white undies, the color difference alone could be enough to tip someone off.
  9. Is this your way of telling us you're running for office?
  10. Amazon.com. Someone looking at the statement can of course tell you bought something, but they can't tell *what* you bought. And of course with Amazon it could be anything! Look for products sold by or "fulfilled by" Amazon and they'll come in generic Amazon packaging.
  11. Actually, I also agree it's not victimless. However I don't agree with what some seem to think which is that everyone involved is a victim. The truth lies somewhere in the middle, as with so many other things. And like sarah_ab, I think that legalizing it would reduce the number of victims by bringing it out in the open.
  12. Um... how can you claim to know what I want? You've never met me and know nothing about me. For what it's worth, I've never partaken of the services of a prostitute, never would, and have no desire to. So your made-up statement about what I want is incorrect.
  13. ...and yet you apparently do not support women having the right to earn a living by engaging in sexual activity? Many countries/groups/religions/people that oppress women claim it's for the women's benefit. Kind of how royals during medieval times claimed their treatment of the serfs was for their benefit.
  14. I'll agree with the previous poster... virtualization is just fine for a production environment if it's implemented correctly. But let me make the argument for a more conservative route... I don't think multiple servers and that other fancy stuff is warranted for an office with only 10 people. My vote would be for buying one good server with built-in redundancy (multiple processors, redundant power supplies, RAID) and a healthy amount of RAM and have at it. Our virtualization server at work has dual quad-core Xeons (the newer ones that are hyperthreaded so the OS thinks it's got 16 processors!), 32 gigs of RAM, and about a terabyte of disk space. We've got about 12 VMs running on it at any given time, some of which are heavily utilized (SQL server) and others which are not so much (domain controller). Also I'll put in a good word for Hyper-V: if you're a Microsoft person it's very easy to learn and use (at least the GUI version that's included with Server 2008) and in my experience provides good performance.
  15. I think maybe we need a thread titled "The craziest diaper excuses you've gotten others to believe". Examples: "They're for my ferret - he likes to eat the stuffing", "I use them in place of potholders", "I'm decorating my living room with them". None of which I've ever actually used... sadly!
  16. If I were any good at quick witty responses (which I'm not) I would have said "Darn, I forgot them at home again!"
  17. This may not be the most cost-effective solution but: 1) put on diaper 2) pee & wait for it to finish 3) take off diaper and put on another one!
  18. So here's an interesting one I don't recall seeing discussed here. In a couple of weeks at the age of 40+ I get to be anesthetized for the first time. No biggie, just a tooth-pulling at the dentist with nitrous oxide, but it's the 1st time I've ever gone through such a thing and I'm pretty nervous. Like others here, one thing that can help make me less nervous is wearing a diaper. But I'm worried that while I'm "out of it", I might let something embarrassing slip re what I'm wearing - normally something I'd never do. I have absolutely no desire to be "discovered". Just wondering if anyone has ever been in this situation before or otherwise have any words of wisdom? Oh and before the lectures start about "involving others in our fetish", yes diapers are at times a fetish for me. But this is not one of those times, trust me, I've already given that long consideration. This is about emotional, and to a lesser extent physical, comfort.
  19. I used to work at an auto-repair shop that was the constant target of noise complaints from nearby residents, in spite of the fact the shop was there years before most of them bought their homes and of the four shops on the block we were probably the quietest. I told the owner one time he needed to get one of those two-sided signs for the door with "Sorry, we're closed" on one side and "Sorry, we're open" on the other...
  20. At a high school near where I grew up, a group of students went out just after dark, in the school parking lot, with some light blue spray paint and stencils... and made every spot in the lot a "handicapped space". On parents' night!
  21. Well said, but you forgot large flatscreen TVs, game consoles, and camcorders! All of which are apparently more important that food... to some people.
  22. Found some diapers I'm interested in on Amazon.com... the page says it's "sold by" another vendor but "fulfilled by" Amazon. Example: These Has anyone here bought items "fulfilled by Amazon", and do they come in regular Amazon packaging? I need *really* discreet shipping - even a medical company's name on the shipping label would be enough to set off some nosy people I live with!
