There is nothing wrong with noting when your adversary says things that are true. Trump, whom I despise has said some things that were true, mostly on economics, but the next question is; to what end? The same with Shapiro and other Trumpbots. In such cases, it is probably to manipulate which means he is using them out of their full context. Or, he/she may really believe the specifics and not know how they clash with their basic ideas as demonstrated elsewhere. I did not need Trump to tell me these things, I knew them when he was a devout Democrat and praised Hillary Clinton to the Heavens in 2012. T fail to note when your opponent speaks the truth is to be in denial and to leave yourself open to charges of just being a hater. I have heard Shapiro, on the rare times I have listened to him, say quit a bit that I have agreed with but that does not change the fact that he is worng on the big items and not a good source for me
