  1. Dear all, I have 6 loose Tena Slip Maxi Medium nappies of varrying vintages which I removed from packets upon noticing changes to the product line + 1 unopened packet which I believe contains those just prior to the pink "war paint" additions to run alongside the wetness indicator which I would like to sell. Please note these have been kept in sealed bags in a dark cool dry closet since opening the packets but I have no ability to guarantee them. Please see some pics and let me know if you are interested and offer me a price (you must pay the postage from Melbourne Australia.) Older nappies with grey taping panels: Inexplicably the wetness indicator was yellow for some months before returning to blue (2 of these) http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y284/Choos/Tena%20Slip/tn_TS005.jpg Similar to what the product is today: http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y284/Choos/Tena%20Slip/tn_TS006.jpg For a few packets the taping panel was just transparent with no logos or guides but it is there: http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y284/Choos/Tena%20Slip/tn_TS007.jpg The unopened packet: http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y284/Choos/Tena%20Slip/tn_TS008.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y284/Choos/Tena%20Slip/tn_TS010.jpg
  2. Vlesi Slip Comfort which I am using at the moment are incredibly noisy, no chance people won't hear you dry or wet, they are thick but could use a booster pad (I am using Merit boosters) and are very pink (at least the medium size is) with the horrible old fashion 2 tape system.
  3. Sounds to me a bit like reverse toilet training, question is though would it really harm your life that much to actually need diapers physically since you seem to need them wholeistically? P.S nappies/diapers seem to work better if you gradually release rather than flood them like you would if you are using the toilet but using that sort of technique I am pretty sure would definately lead to lack of control.
  4. I thought I would upload a few pics of one of the medium sized as a booster for a "Tena Slip Super medium" (made in malaysia.) Booster Pad and Nappy out of packets side by side. Initially folding out to see difference in length. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y284/Choo...-07-08_0903.jpg Folded out. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y284/Choo...-07-08_0904.jpg Wings of Merit Booster folded behind the rest of the pad. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y284/Choo...-07-08_0905.jpg Booster pad in place inside the leg gatherers of the nappy. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y284/Choo...-07-08_0906.jpg These do NOT have a sticky back to them and I think require the wings to be folded back behind to fit nicely inside the leg gatherers and my assumption is that folding out the extra wings will provide a couple of layers of flow control to the main padding of the nappy hopefully dispersing the liquid helping the absorbtion rate as well as giving the extra capacity.
  5. Hi all, I have been looking for a better booster pad for sometime and had these recommended as an off the cuff remark by the sales assistant at nappyland. http://www.ilcaustralia.org/home/search4.a...C=13&MinC=1 http://www.cart.com.au/vhp/view/4836/379311/ I bought the medium size and found if you fold one out and fold the extra cloth back behind them it will fit nicely inside the guards of the nappy/diaper (assuming it has leakage guards) and not being too thick (for me at least) they don't cause that dredded air gap which can cause bad leaks. They seem to have quite a lot of gel in them so they swell up lots and not having a plastic backing allow whatever they can't absorb to slowly transfer to the outer pad/nappy/diaper allowing for better absorbtion as well as adding the extra capacity. I bought one pack of 96 for around $20 (australian) and they seem to be about the same size as a small babies nappy (no idea of the equivalent sizing.) Oh yeah you can only fit one medium pad inside a medium nappy/diaper due to their length.
  6. From my experience (both with the European version and the cheapened version made in Malasia and shipped here) the Tena Slip Maxi is about 20% thicker than the Super. In actual fact the packet size here for Medium is 8 in a pack of Maxi and 10 in a pack of Super and the packets are the same size.
  7. Thanks Robert for the pics and review. I actually think they don't look bad at all but absorbtion and capacity are important so it's a shame they don't hold up well.
  8. Thanks for the reply, Please let us know how they hold up for a wetting!
  9. I would be suprised if modern life & the internet didn't help liberate people that are inclined to actually be comfortable enough to be who and what they are in comparison to what has happened in older generations.
  10. Hey Robert, Thanks mate please let us know what they are like in comparison to Tena Slip Maxi (which I see by your avatar you are aquainted with.) I don't suppose you got a sample of Goo.N bigger than big nappies as well to see the size difference to the average Junior size?
  11. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has even tried of seen the product "Takecare" I am assuming from the same people that make the Goo.N bigger than big? http://www.goonnappy.co.nz/ http://www.goonnappy.co.nz/shop.php?folder...%20Incontinence
  12. The site must have been talking about the pull-ups style not a cloth like covered diaper. I wonder if they will ever come back or it was a non starter business?
  13. Hi all, A few weeks ago I came across a site diapermarket .com that appeared to me to be in the process of setting up (though I could be wrong) part of their advertising was a new Secure X-Plus with cloth backing (though I could have gotten that part wrong as well. I filled in their online proforma thing to let me know more and got a response back very quickly which I unfortunately deleted but it was along the lines that Secure was launching a new product and I could reply if I wanted him/her to keep me informed but now when I go to the website it appears to be an unregistered domain. On the plus side I havn't started receiving spam but I am down a potential retailer for Secure cloth backed, now my questions are: 1. Does anyone know what happened to Diapermarket? 2. Is Secure actually launching a cloth backed product?
  14. I have been a bedwetter for coming upto 10 years now and have to run to the bathroom a lot during the day. My wife is fine about the nappies and occassional leak.
  15. So how did they work out for you? I always find the gel is quite the bonus for absorbtion and great for the garden afterwards. Their isn't a lot of info except for their claims on health etc do they really only have the 4 small sizes? It would be nice if they made upto a Junior size at least (I think that's what's referred to as size 6.) Be great if you could up a pic to see just how thick they are.
  16. I have used two types of booster pad successfully (and several not so successfully) the first was the Incohelp IP4620M with a sticky backing, these are very thick and you can't use more than one in a nappy or really risk over filling and creating an air gap which is perfect for leakes. http://www.ilcaustralia.org/home/search4.a...C=13&MinC=1 The one I am using now is a Lille booster pads (can't work out if they are the classic or super) but they are thin with no plastic backing (or tape) and I found I can fit two in a medium but not stacked. They hold a suprising amount and help with the redistribution. I only started using these from a recommendation that they are great for bigger size childrens nappies. These are really cheap here in Australia where I am about $5 for a pack of 24. http://www.ilcaustralia.org/search4.asp?St...496&page=21
  17. LOL, I find if as soon as I take the nappy off if I hold it by the top (the part with the taping panel) and give it a gentle shake* all the padding will fall to the bottom (including any that is still dry) and held strongly in place by the elastic waist band then I can gently peel the inside top sheet away from the plastic and pour into into the pail. When I do thiis immediatly I find very little smell (and your wee is sterile anyway) but sometimes I find I have a couple of days worth sitting in the bin which develop that nasty saucy smell so I always add these to the bottom of the bucket (lol I do have a strong gag reflex) but after I have a shower over the top of them I always find their is no smell partially thanks to the water and maybe in part from the different soap products. *If anyone else is going to try this can I suggest you make sure that your nappy/diaper is the kind that is properly sealed top and bottom as I have had many disasters where I wish to clump the pulp together before I pour it into the pail only to find their was an opening (or just a pour seal) and I have a huge mess of fluff pulp and gel on the bathroom floor (oh yeah don't do this over carpet.)
  18. I turn the compost very often so it gets plenty of air and doesn't stink thanks to the aerobic bacteria activity. Composting is just one of those things that makes me feel a bit better about wearing a disposable product. If anyone else wants to try this I would just let you know where I used to live it rained quite a bit so I could just pour the shower water and fluff pulp out on the garden and throw some mulch over the top and it would breakdown in a few weeks. Where I live now it barely rains so when I initially tried that I wound up with heaps of fluff pulp "cakes" sitting on the garden beds which was very[/] telling.
  19. Hi all, I am lucky enough to have my own house with small backyard (with some small & young fruit trees) and hidden behind my garden shed I have placed a compost bin (which is very handy for a family of 5) to which I have been adding my nappy pulp along with the fruit and veg peelings and stacks of coffee grinds. My process is to empty the fluff pulp from my wet nappy into a nappy pail (you know a very large bucket) and then shower standing over the pail collecting the water, soap suds and all. This then gets poured into the compost bin adding quite a bit of volume as well as lots of moisture (which is great for compost.) I found some small earth worms (local variety) which I added to the bin ages ago and the other day when I was turning it with the fork I was very pleased to see now lots of very large earth worms (I am guessing they are healthy but I really have no idea lol.) Some people have expressed the idea that shampoo, liquid soaps and disposable nappies may have harmful chemicals in them but the worms havn't dug out underneath (which they could do) or died. Any feedback on whether this is safe, clever or anything?
  20. Have you tried the Abri-form Air-Plus? They are available in Australia and are cloth backed, I know they have the silly tape system and yes I had problems with them on the the air variety though I think the trick is to pull the blue sealing tape off before you stick them. I contacted Sanicare (the supplie) and let them know, perhaps with enough push back the product will start to get a velcro tab system? http://www.sanicare.com.au/Default.aspx?ID=4704
  21. This was actually last night but some friends and I are keen homebrewers and we tried to make a clone of Gulden Draak a very beautiful beligian strong ale dark triple (this is the only dark triple I have come across) and it certainly turned out very nicely except it didn't carbonate in the bottles thanks to being just a tad bit too strong so last night I mixed it with a non alcoholic beer (which seems to be my staple at the moment) and was very happy. Apart from that its all water and espresso for me.
  22. I am a huge Gundam fan, actually I love most sort realistic giant piloted robot/mecha stuff. I have to say Haibane Renmei though is my abolute favourite series ever (I think LOL.)
  23. I have to wear them for #1 (actually now only at night which is great for me) but only once for #2 when I had the runs really badly while sleeping and I have to say it wasn't nice to clean up.
  24. Only tiny leakes for the most part but when one afternoon as I was finishing work I thought I should have a change before jumping on the train home, for some insane reason I put on one of the then brand new Tena Flex which was probably my first mistake, my second mistake was sitting down for most of the train trip (usually I would have to fight for a seat on the trip home.) About 20 minutes still to go on the trip home the guy sitting opposite me started laughing while looking down at my crotch a stain was very slowly spreading out from both sides on the inside of my thighs. I actually waited out the rest of the 20 minute trip home in the same seat (and yes when I got up it was slightly damp so I put a newspaper on it.) Those Tena Flex were absolutely awful, I actually used pretty much the rest of the pack that night changing often and trying to judge how much they could hold (about as much as your supermarket depends which I would guess is just shy of thimblefull) and where they leaked from (actually that was easy it was all over the nappy and the crazy belt system wicked up the rest to soak whatever I was wearing on the top ROFL.)
  25. Or it could have been a Tena Flex, can I say I found all those types of nappy substitutes to be really poor in terms of absorbency and fit.
