  1. It is more commercial than it once was. It's still burningman though. Honestly I have friends I love to death that are going and putting together camps or I wouldn't be there. One of my friends has been doing it for 13 yrs now and he has taken me to several regional burns that have been absolutely amazing. I have met some of the nicest, most fun people ever through those events and the art that is created by burners is fantastic. I dare you to find the level of commitment and ingenuity that goes into the art cars and huge sculptures anywhere else. Commercial or not its about what you bring to the table with creativity and group planning to make a great camp come together. For me it's still about freedom of expression and creating a community for a week where I don't buy anything I don't trade. I gift items to others and hope for the same. I understand not everyone has the same mindset but the village I'm with does.
  2. I'm going to burningman. I already have a camp though. See ya on the playa
  3. you get access to the archives and everything else for 30 days.I think if you want .zip files of the family albums they charge extra for that. They do have a lot of photos and video.
  4. you want something unique go with a lambic beer Like delirium tremens
  5. Run away!! There are a few things that make this a standout cult. First the age of the religion is a factor, also L Ron Hubbard was a science fiction writer. The "church" of Scientology is known for trying to silence any kind of dissent and it is also known to cut ties that members have to family and friends. There have been multiple reports of abusive and brainwashing like activities at several of their retreats. If you look into the "sea club" I'm sure you'll find quite a bit. Scientology also requires that you pay to recieve the counselling sessions to cleanse yourself of "theatans" that pollute your body and make you unhappy this seems to me to be counter intuitive. If the point of a religion is to bring happyness and clarity why do they charge a fee to provide this? Are they not guided by a higher power that would provide for them and allow them to do their work? I could go on about how E-meters have been thoroughly debunked and the list of members who have had their lives ruined because they choose to take a stand. But instead I'll just say, Run Away from this crazy group of people it is not going to make your life any better. At best you'll be out money and at worst they will damage relationships and business in your life.
  6. I have a huge collection of sagan. Everything I could find, he was a brilliant man that brought science to a huge number of people.
  7. Dr Who is awesome. The new doctor is still growing on me but he seems to be filling the shoes of the doctor well. I look forward to many more seasons.
  8. Named after a bear that cares
  9. If you are looking for zombie films Poultrygeist and black sheep (not the one with chris farley) are great. They're a little low budget but if you are looking for a higher budget film I don't think planet terror has been mentioned. I'm not sure if it would be horror but ichi the killer and old boy are great. Then there are the classics like halloween or texas chainsaw massacre. Yeah horror flicks can be fun

  13. Download a live cd like this one: http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/release/current-live/i386/iso-cd/debian-live-504-i386-gnome-desktop.iso Burn it Set your pc to boot from CD Boot into the live CD then open a terminal Applications >> accessories >> terminal then type: mkdir ~/Recover su - fdisk -l (this will give you a list of drives hooked to your system) You now want to replace the /dev/hda1 with the drive letter that appears for the drive in question. If it's the only drive it should be hda. Second drive is hdb and so on. e2fsck -Avp /dev/hda (we want to fix it too right ) mount /dev/hda1 ~/Recover and bingo!!! you're newly fixed drive is now accessible in your home folder in Recover

  16. Years back when I lived in San Diego I received a chemical burn on my left hand. (I also happen to be left handed) that covered half my thumb and a good portion of my hand. My thumb looked like a cross section I could literally see the muscle structure of my thumb. I went to the San Diego medical center burn unit and they gave me creams and such. But water didnt do shit to that ungodly pain. I'm surprised my hand isn't horribly scarred in all honesty.
