When a younger sibling or cousin was potty training, were you asked to assist by affirming that the potty and underwear were Big Kid Things, and you helped them out (praising them for going potty, reminding them to go potty, etc.)?

When I write diaper fiction, I tend to err on the 'actual babies and toddlers' side of things. I, however, am not a parent or a daycare supervisor, and reading pediatrician articles and mommy advice columns only goes so far. So I figure a thread asking for assistance on how to write babies and toddlers who are at least somewhat realistic wouldn't go awry. I do have specific questions, but for now I think starting out general works best.

So... nobody's interested in this?

What does a small suburb do when there are multiple toddlers who aren't fully on board with the potty, and you want to get them interested in it? Obviously, you rent out a play place for a day for a special party celebrating how awesome going potty is. Naturally. (Basically, I'm going to put a limit of 2, 3 other people joining in beside me. In addition to playing the kids, the parents and the suit-wearing entertainers are free to be passed around, for the most part.) ----------------------------- Carlos, 31 months, waddles into the Super Funzone with everyone else, holding his mommy's hand. Of the group, Carlos is probably the least actively resistant to using the potty-he's just unsure of it. Looking up at the stage, he sees a group of animal musicians-A lion, a crocodile, a gorilla, and a cat. Mom directs the group to the long table where everyone will be sitting and eating, decked out with some booster seats for the toddlers. Carlos looks down, a little shy and nervous.

Or have they effectively ex-communicated you for your desires? Or perhaps they were never good parents which is why you got into this. Or maybe they don't know and you still have a good relationship with them.

The questions/polls I'm thinking of are things like: -How does ABDLism split among racial lines? -What relationships do ABDLs have with their actual parents? Because I know it can't fully be tragedies being the reason why people want diapers. -How did ABDL's actual potty training go as kids? Were they ever potty training 'role models' for a younger sibling or cousin? -ABDLs who are parents, how do they feel about potty training their kids?

Inside the studio, Ethan was mostly just confused. The 3 year old, big for his size both in height and in girth, just a few weeks ago, had been in an Easy-Up, his parents praising him for going potty, but now he was sitting in a t-shirt and a diaper because of something called a 'come-mer-shal.'. Was he a big boy? A baby? He was so confused. Some of the kids here were Big Sis's age but they were in diapers, and Big Sis wore undies. Did big boys and big girls not have to wear undies? Could he be a big boy and still wear his diaper?

The "Terrible Twos" are a thing for a reason. Toddlers love to go red in the face, cry, scream, throw their limbs in every direction, and shout "NO!" at the top of their lungs. Do you engage with this, or at the very least, want to?

NO is my favorite word. You can't wash my favorite blanket, I hate this food and will throw it at you, I want to keep watching TV, I don't want to go to bed or get in the car seat or leave the park, and most of all, I WILL NOT GO POTTY! I am TerribleTwo. ...okay that was a little dramatic but I got the name so I had to do something with it. Anyway, hey, I'm a fan of roleplay, diaper commercials, asking questions about ABDL's pasts and doing light research into how the community divides up. I also enjoy collaborative writing and fun experiments. And, despite the intro, I don't hate the potty. I actually think I have more interest in the potty training age than the average ABDL? Nice to meet you all.
