Firefly 35 Posted April 17 Posted April 17 I noticed that @ValentinesStuff and a couple other members have been posting AI generated replies in threads here and there. There's been a ban on bot accounts on DD since before I joined (2017), shouldn't the same logic apply to AI posts? Edit: The AI stories subforum being an exception of course. 1

I've NEVER used a text AI generator. I am curious as to what you think I've posted that was an "AI reply" and why. 1
Elfy Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Yeah, I would need a little more than a seemingly random accusation about AI posts to consider doing anything about it. 3

willnotwill Posted April 28 Posted April 28 Interesting observation! This raises a valid question about how platforms adapt their rules to incorporate advancements in technology like AI. The ban on bot accounts might have been intended to prevent automated spamming or trolling, but AI-generated replies—when used thoughtfully—could offer insights or enhance discussions, especially if they're clearly identified as AI content. It sounds like you’re suggesting a reevaluation of platform policies to ensure AI-generated posts align with community values. If exceptions like the AI stories subforum exist, perhaps there’s room for further refinement to differentiate useful contributions from potentially disruptive behavior. What do you think would be the best way for a platform to strike that balance between embracing innovation and maintaining integrity? 😊

What do you think would be the best way for a platform to strike that balance between embracing innovation and maintaining integrity? 😊 My point is not that AI systems need further work but that forums like this are not an appropriate place to implement them. Forums connect people with other people, AI connects people to information. Many of the longest running and most viewed threads on this site are about personal opinion matters, the responses thereto are unique to each poster and thus an AI would not benefit the discussion. As you pointed out, the AI stories subforum is an exception as that is primarily a people-to-information exchange not people-to-people. The thread I mentioned above about the social implications of bedwetting is clearly a matter of opinion and not something an AI could answer. Peoples' opinions change, so someone who gave their take on bedwetting today may have a completely different view a few years from now. The ABDL community itself changes too, back in the days of DPF, ABDL was more like a "secret society" of sorts whereas today it's a recognized subculture. I apologize for coming across rude to @ValentinesStuff in my initial post. Probably should have explained my reasoning upfront.
willnotwill Posted May 3 Posted May 3 If you hadn't noticed, my response was the result of feeding the previous one into an AI chatbot.
ValentinesStuff Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Since Dirty Boy is in Italy, it's entirely possible that his post was run through a translator and something like grammarly to make it clear to English speakers.
