bspecnoza Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 I thought it might be time to start my own progress thread in this subforum as I've fully committed to becoming a bedwetter after previously falling off the wagon! I started down the path back in April for 3 months before quitting cold turkey because I wasn't seeing results. I didn't have the right mindset at the time and instead of focusing on the journey was too caught up with results and I became frustrated when it wasn't happening fast enough. I've since then recalibrated and fully embraced the bedwetting lifestyle. I've become quite patterned with my nightly routine at this point. I began training again on 9/6/24 and have been diapered every night since (54 days). My end goal is to wet whenever I am asleep, wherever I am, whatever I am sleeping on in whatever I am wearing. Asleep or napping, home or away, bed, couch or car, diapered or in underwear. My methods have varied. I've read through a number of threads including SoakedSheet's guide to achieving bed wetting which I've implemented several techniques from. I drink enough liquid through the day to stay relatively hydrated and then have a tall glass of water before bed to prime the pump so to speak. Currently I pee the bed before diapering up for the night (more on this below). My current progress: most nights now I'm between a 6 and 8 on dlmolicares' Nightly wetting score with the occasional 10 here and there. I used to wet my diaper before falling asleep which would practically always guarantee I would be an 8 and 10 on the nightly wetting score sheet but on nights that I didn't wet before sleep I would wake up almost every time for the first wetting. I've since tried to break through this wall by forcing myself to fall asleep dry and just keep trying to stay as relaxed as possible when I do wake up needing to pee, I really hope I can push through this stage but it's just taking time. The other thing I've incorporated that has really helped is to wet the bed whenever I'm home during the day. I purchased several bed pads and I lay them on my bed and then I wet in different clothes all through the day (pajamas, sweats, jeans, underwear, naked) and I'm focused on alternating positions every week. I started with wetting on my stomach the first 2 weeks and now I'm moving on to wetting on my back for the next 2 weeks before moving to left side and right side. This has helped tremendously making my body comfortable with wetting the bed and getting used to the smell, feeling, temperature. My hope is that this really furthers the goal of not just wetting when in diapers. If I get to a consistent 10 on the nightly wetting scale I will test how my body responds to napping on the couch or other sleeping surfaces and I may do my daily wetting practice in those places too to further cement in my subconscious that it's ok to wet outside of the toilet. Thank you to all those who have posted their journey and offered tips along the way, we'll see how long this journey takes but I'm not in a hurry this time, I'm just fully embracing the lifestyle and taking it all in, every night waking up wet is great! I'll continue to post my progress as things change or my methods change and I'm going to start scoring each night in the morning based on the above linked scoring thread. 2
bspecnoza Posted November 20, 2024 Author Posted November 20, 2024 Progress update! I broke through the dry diaper barrier! For the past week I've been at a 10 on the wetting score scale while falling asleep with a dry diaper. I've only had one dry night this month and I think it was because I was very dehydrated. I tried one night earlier this week sleeping without a diaper to see if I would wet but unfortunately I had trouble falling asleep and kept waking up a lot during the night, very uncomfortable and felt like crap the entire day. I'm not sure how to train past this particular barrier without training the same way I have been but without a diaper. I'm thinking I might just keep going the way I have been and see if in time my body gets so used to wetting during sleep that it doesn't matter if I'm wearing or not. Not sure if anyone has any feedback on how long it was before they started wetting undiapered? All in all I'm happy with my training so far, my sleep has gotten a lot better but still short of my goal of wetting whenever and wherever asleep regardless of being diapered or not. 2
bspecnoza Posted December 7, 2024 Author Posted December 7, 2024 Month 3 Update I have been consistent in wearing every night! I'm loving the Trests, I haven't had a single leak! I'm a bit of a combination sleeper but I mostly sleep on my side and occasionally roll to my stomach and back so it was hard to find a diaper that does it all. From my last update on the 20th I had a few days where I was around a 6/8 on the night wetting scale. The past week I have reliably been at a 10 (falling asleep and not waking at all until the morning and finding myself wet). I'm very happy with the progress, so much in fact I decided to try an undiapered night sleeping on a pad. I had a very hard time falling asleep and I tossed and turned through the night eventually waking up needing to pee. I did let go and pee the pad when my body woke me up and then went back to sleep only to wake up again a few hours later and get up and change as I was cold and uncomfortable (hoping this doesn't set me back). Honestly I'm a bit upset that my training hasn't bled over to undiapered wetting. I had hoped all my training of peeing the bed in clothes and undiapered during the day for weeks at time in the beginning would have been enough to let my body do its thing. I'm guessing I just need more diapered nights at a 10 on the scale before my body relinquishes. I'm not letting it put me down though. I'm enjoying waking up each morning with a wet diaper and no recollection of waking to wet. I'll enjoy the progress and hopefully get to my end goal of wetting regardless of what I'm wearing or where I happen to fall asleep/nap. On the off chance that I do wake up during the night to pee I can do so in any position and no longer have to concentrate. When I do hazily remember these events I can't recall if I fall back asleep while still peeing or shortly after which is great! Anyone who trained to wet the bed have any idea how long it took before you were wetting undiapered? I'm hoping I can get there in the next year. 1

From the sound of it, you're at a crucial moment now where you could retrain to not wet at night, but also if you continue to train for night wetting you could very soon find yourself not able to get back continence at night. I have not personally been successful at sleep wetting, but I've seen enough anecdotal evidence to suggest that once you go down the (reliable) sleep wetting route, it's almost impossible to go back, so I think you're just about at your goal. Please keep us updated on further progress!
bspecnoza Posted January 4 Author Posted January 4 So it seems I've hit a bit of a snag and it's stressing me out. For the 4 months I've been training to become a bedwetter I've been training on a new mattress (100% latex) since my old one had turned into a sunken hole. Unfortunately I had been experiencing a lot of lower back pain the entire time I slept on the new mattress and had pretty terrible sleep. I eventually gave up a week ago and returned the latex mattress in favor of a new Tempurpedic. The Tempurpedic is absolutely incredible and after a few nights I've fully acclimated and no longer have any lower back pain. I'm also able to sleep on my stomach again with no pain. I feel I get much better quality of sleep and toss and turn less in the night (maybe you see where this is going?). As a result the past week I have been unable to wake up in the night needing to pee and thus it feels like all my progress has halted. I haven't had any nights where I wet in my sleep which wasn't the case on my old mattress. I was almost to the point of wetting every night or at least every other night with multiple nights in a row. I have a feeling that because my old mattress was causing me to toss and turn that I was very rarely if at all achieving deep sleep and thus it was easier to wet during the night. I'm not really sure where to go from here. I'm not ready to give up on my goal. I'm thinking about maybe trying to start the night already wet and see if that encourages me to wet. I'm also considering trying to drink more right before bed (I've been just keeping hydrated sipping through the whole day with clear pee). The other thing I've considered is maybe setting an alarm for around 1-2am and waking up with my watch vibrating and wetting and then falling back asleep if I can't get my body to wake up naturally needing to pee. Any ideas how to proceed from here? I'm super distraught.
Hannah YMS Posted January 5 Posted January 5 I had never thought to think of the hardness or quality of a mattress to influence sleep wetting. That's interesting. Unfortunately, I don't have any advice I can give as I am in the process of trying to achieve natural sleep wetting with about a 5% success rate at this time. Still trying.

Urine should be clear. Amber, yellow, pale yellow; all should be clear. I’m going to guess that you mean white clear. I would advise caution. If this is the constant colour of your urine, you’re over-hydrated. This can lead to increased loss of minerals, so proceed with caution. Now with the good advice out of the way, here’s my bad advice. If you want to increase diuresis overnight, have a SINGLE shot of liquor before bed. Your not trying to get drunk, just get the diuretic effect. Although yes, caffeine fits the bill too, it will likely affect your slumber. Also, going to sleep wet, I have found helps met wet when I wake in the night. Full disclosure, I am not a bed wetter.

I have had a bad back for soo many years, and I had Dr's tell me I need a firm mattress and like you I tried them, and my back was in pain all night , with you its possibly he being not comfortable that has you not able to relax enough to wet the bed and after you got the new mattress you found that out. I have used all kinds of mattress's. I need a soft one to make my back feel better , well now I sleep in my comfortable recliner . But I want to say a comment on the urine color, yes too clear may be an issue of losing too many minerals how clear? you maybe able to get a urine test to do at home to see if your drinking too much water, there is such a thing as to water drunk . But if pee is bright yellow it can be ok, See I am one that takes a lot of vitamins. One I use is a mega dose of "B" vitamin mix, well you have to adjust your dose by the urine color, if my pee is really yellow I am peeing out my money, Because your body gets rid of excess B as with others, so I adjust my water and my B vitamin daily, say if I had a day I sweated out more , I need more water, but if my diaper is bright yellows and a lot of urine, I will take one less of my B complex. People think 🤔 that if urine is yellow it's always too little water, you may need to ask what else are you putting in? I am older so I have done a lot of research , because living with Chronic pain and on narcotics , I have to take things to protect my body, and Liver etc. I don't know what you take if anything , but just put in my 2 cents worth.
