Consider this, too - all those diapers we discarded in the 1980's... unless you live in an area where they burn trash, they're all still down there, under the ground, each with it's own little story to tell. They did core samples at a dump in my area (Toronto) that had been decommissioned years ago and turned into a golf course, after operating from the 1950's, and in the cores, they found things like chunks of hotdogs from the 70's that were still entirely recognizable. The conditions become so anaerobic under the tightly-compressed layers of trash and soil, that everything goes into stasis. If hot dogs don't break down, then I can say with certainty that the Pampers I grew up in are still under there. Link to comment
