Boy and girl diapers? Back in the day?

So back in the day in the 90's there were boy and girl diapers. I am wondering how the padding was placed differently for both?

IIRC The padding was different.  More concentrated up front for boys and more down the middle for girls.  Likely went away due to high costs of producing two different types of diapers.

I don't think there was much of a difference, at least not from a visual inspection. I still wear Huggies Baby Steps for girls. Some say there was different padding in the middle for girls verses the front for boys, but at least with these Huggies the padding/filling appears consistent throughout.

I remember Pampers, saying in their ads, they were made different. Like DryNot said, more padding up front for boys, more down the middle for girls.

Cool pic, Little Baby Becca, I have some of the Huggies older kids pull-ups, I can still pull them up, but if I get them wet and sit,,,, they will split the side apart. But soooo soft while I can wear them. I grab up all of the older ones I can when at the second hand stores etc. I am much more cautious now, I will only buy sealed up packages and wipe the package down. Just to be safe, I guess not knowing what germs could be on them, I should have been wiping stuff down that's used long before covid.

BabyBecca, those diapers are super cute! ?    I remember the advertisements- can't remember if it was Huggies or Luvs though- that used to say "more absorbent up front for boys, in the middle for girls!" or something along those lines.  Never got to check out the diapers myself, so I don't know how truthful those claims were.  I just remember the commercial.

I think those were the diapers I was getting from my cousin’s little ones in the early 90’s.  (Pink because there were no boys until about ‘97.  I was getting them myself by that point.). Those were probably my first actual diaper. I needed two for “full coverage”.
