I believe I've got a 3rd UTI coming on transgender help is appreciated

Recommended Posts

Ok I've already had 2 agonizing UTIs when I was a teenager and 1 of the worst part was my testicles swelling up to size of baseballs and causing agonizing pain for about 2 weeks the first time and a month the second time I've always practiced good hygiene went to restroom frequently and drank cranberry juice but now I'm having all the same symptoms now as the 1st and second utis I have no intention of ever having children nor does my gf so wont to get my testicles removed I have no use for them what so ever all they do is make me uncomfortable in my diaper and bang against my legs when I exercise so I've made my decision I wont the filthy bastards gone snip snip snip gone GONE so if theres any transgender people who would feel fine telling where to find a willing doctor and what I have to say just to get them to cut my balls off and stop I would be very appreciative my current doctor keeps insisting that I want to keep my balls wont tell me anything about the process of getting rid of those nasty painful lumps they call testicles

I realize I'd have to take testosterone supplements the rest of my life but if that stops me from dry heaving green vile and feeling like my ball are on fire its totally worth it

1. I've never heard of UTI's causing testicles to swell. The NHS website and a few others don't list it as a symptom either. UTI's affect the urinary system (funny that) and the testicles aren't part of that. Contrary to popular belief pee is not stored in the balls.

2. You are 23. Not wanting children now is fine but there may come a time where you change your mind. A decade from now you will still only be 33 and a lot might have changed.

3. Orchidectomy (removal of one or both testicles) can have a lot of negative side-effects. Without the testosterone you will suffer from a whole list of problems unless you start taking hormonal medication which you would require for the rest of your life. It's a serious procedure.

4. If you can find a doctor willing to perform that surgery uneccesarily I would be very concerned about where he got his license.

5. If you can find a doctor who will just do that surgery I'm sure there are thousands of transgender people who would want his name. Contrary to what right wing media may say having an operation to change gender is a very long process. It requires a seemingly endless amount of appointments, check-ups, consultations and referrals. Quite simply it takes years and years. That's before considering the cost as well. The amount of hoops you need to jump through is staggering and a real problem for transgender people.

6. They are transgender people not "transgenders"

7. Finally, I imagine this is how your appointment with a doctor would go:

You: "I want to have my testicles removed."

Dr: "Do you have testicular cancer?"

You: "No."

Dr: "Do you want to transition?"

You: "No."

Dr: ...

8. It's a UTI. They aren't the end of the world. Just speak to a doctor, get a prescription for antibiotics and you'll be fine before you know it. If you've only had three in your life it's hardly a chronic problem.

How do boys get UTI?
Only 2 ways that I know of and that is extended wear in poopy diaper or catheter play

I might have had a very mild case once, but it was gone in a day without treatment

UTI is mostly common in girls cause of the much shorter tract

There's a third method I am aware of for men to get UTI's.  Being sexually active - i.e., PIV or PIA penetration can cause a UTI.

That being said, the only UTI that I can remember getting in my entire adult life was just over a year ago and was due to self-catheterizing myself and using a reused, unsterilized bed bag that ended up having a defective check-valve and anti-siphon valve.  Effectively it allowed the bag to reverse flow and contaminated pee got to my bladder.  Worse than a simple urethritis, a full-blown bladder infection with 104 degree F temp, even after heavy duty antibiotics were started earlier that day.  I was much better the second day and feeling myself a few days later.  Didn't play with catheters for a long time after that.  Anytime I do now I use a brand-new fresh sterile bag.

I’m a cis-male and I’ve gotten UTIs. UTIs are so rare in males under age 50 that it’s automatically considered a complicated case and requires a urologist exam to figure out what’s causing it because it’s likely to be a physical abnormality rather than a hygiene issue. I get them because of some pelvic floor disfunction and having a narrow prostate, both of whic are treatable.

All that said, I’ve never heard of testicle swelling due to a UTI. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but I’m not sure how a urinary tract infection would spread to the testicles. It sounds to me more like an infection called epididymitis, which is an infection of the epididymous, a structure attached to the testicle. But it like also be something else. Testicular cancer is one of the few cancers more commonly diagnosed in younger testicle owners.

Either way, you need to go see a doctor. The infection could presage something more serious, or even if not, it could spread. Something as simple as a UTI can become life threatening. If you don’t like you’re current doctor, go see another one. At least go to urgent care.

I’d start with just getting this problem treated and finding out why it’s recurring. Solve that and deal with the rest from there. You may get referred to a urologist, and that’s who you want to talk to about surgery anyway.

From the website https://www.imaginelaserworks.com/additional-services/testitis/

Definition for Testitis (Orchiditis):

"Testitis is defined as inflammation of one or both of the testes, also known as orchitis. This condition is most commonly associated with the mumps virus. Studies have shown that at least one-third of males who contract mumps after puberty develop testitis. Other causes of testitis may include bacterial infections from sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea or Chlamydia. Symptoms of testitis may include testicular swelling on one or both sides, pain, tenderness, nausea, fever, discharge from the penis, and blood in the ejaculate."

As the description above states, testitis is most commonly associated with the mumps virus.  It can be caused by bacterial infections such as the STDs gonorrhea and Chlamydia or viral infections.

@DL-Boy

Guys can get UTI's if they are in a position where they are NOT able to pee the "Normal way" This means they would use a cath, and had a cath in, and then pulled it out.  There are people who also can get it if there is a prolonged use of a urinal, or you are bedridden for a while.  When I was 30, I had appendicitis, and from the getgo, they had a catheter in me.  I had this thing in for 2 weeks and then they pulled it out, and I was able to clear the problem, but this requires you to be able to pee out into a toilet or a urinal.

You can also get it after having to do this for a long period.  As I stated above, if you are bedridden, you use a urinal and pee in that, and if you cant get to the toilet, you have them measure and empty the results every time.  Most guys I know stand UP when the pee, so the pee travels down the pipes and you pee in the toilet.  You can, and I have, experienced a UTI because there is bacteria in the pipes, and it BURNS really bad.  For that, the doctor prescribes Monistat 1 to get rid of the bacteria.

Bacteria can still be there:  This is why I think I got a UTI about 4 days after I got out of the hospital in 2002.  A cath tube is NOT the "natural way" to pee, and anything that can enter your body (penis) that is NOT natural can either carry the bacteria in, or allow it to build up - which is why I am glad that as soon as practical, they remove the cath, and allow people to use the urinal.  Urine is sterile, but can cause issues with bacterial growth, I believe.

HOLY Smokes!

I must say that what you are apparently experiencing is something that is agonizing:  However, asking anyone to remove your testicles is the VERY last thing that I would want to do.  As others (@Elfy @Alex Bridges) have cautioned, I would definitely want to see a urologist, and any other specialist necessary to see what could be causing the pain.  This is especially important if you are not sure what it could possibly be, and you have NOT been evaluated.  I would make an appointment with your Primary Doctor, be evaluated, and referred to the proper specialist(s) before I would go and have the testicles removed.  You may have something that is treatable, or a problem that is underlying, and taking DRASTIC STEPS like this would ONLY be advisable under a doctors care.  You may also want to see an Oncologist (Cancer specialist) to make sure the problem is not related to cancer.  You may find that what causes the problem is treatable, without going to the extreme of testicle removals.

@Elfy is correct.  Doing any of the things he lists above can change your life forever.  If you are young, and 23, you should reconsider any decisions that would change your life like this.  If there is a UTI here, or any problem that can be treated with medications, including things like Azithromicyn, or others, these will be a fair bit cheaper, and you won't have to go to these extremes - Antibiotics should be tried FIRST!

TRUST me - Again @Elfy is CORRECT, and you just can't go in and have a doctor "snip snip, GONE" your testicles - ANYONE who is "transitioning" can tell you this:  Its NOT easy, and it should NOT be - as you are making decisions you CANNOT "back out of"  This transitioning process takes a LONG time, and is something that should be well thought out and explored FULLY - in ADDITION, ask anyone going through this process, and like @Elfy said, they can probably TELL you that its NOT cheap!

As @Alex Bridges says, you should see a Doctor, and get  either a script to deal with the problem, and a referral to a specialist to get evaluated!  Any problem you could have could be indicative of a more SERIOUS problem - Especially if it could be cancerous - Have all the possibilities checked - You may find that it is a simple problem that can be dealt with - but, you will not know that until you make an appointment with your doctor and have him check this out!

Good Luck!

Although it's rare, you can get Mumps in your testicles and they can swell up really large and are extremity painful.  The actor Burt Ward who played Robin in the old Batman TV series had Mumps in his testicles when he got older so it does happen.  I hope when that happened to you you had your doctor check them out.

Not to mention there would have to be psychiatric exams to make sure you are of sound mind and know all of the ramifications of this choice.  For that matter, there was a period of time that I thought I would need to have a psychiatric evaluation before getting an inflatable penile implant to make sure I was "sound of mind" and understood my decision.  I didn't have to but it was a possibility.

Im fully fully aware of the changes cutting my balls will off will have

I'll never have them bang in to my legs while running  again

I'll never have swell up to the size of baseballs and cause me agonizing pain

I'll have no testerorone so I wont have to shave anymore

I wont have them slipping away over the leak guard of my diaper causing leaks anymore

I wont have that nasty goo come out on the rare occasion we have sex fyi we dont really like sex  we both prefer a magic wand over our diapers

Also when I had the first 2 UTIs I was 13 and a virgin and had never put anything up there both I started vomiting uncontrollably then my testicles swelled to the sizes of baseballs and put me in a level of pain you cannot begin to comprehend I then went to urgent care where they sent me to the ER from there I got a disgusting quack American doctor who insisted it must be an STDs but I knew all along I was a virgin and hadn't even masturbated for my first time yet much less put anything up my penis I was given nothing for the pain or the nausea or antibiotics for 3 whole days while doing every std test known to man before he finally gave up and sent me to a urologist at Vanderbilt who within 30 minutes came back and said it was a uti that had spread to my testicles to cause infection in my testicles I was in the hospital for 11 days I couldn't eat anything till number 6  I recovered and then about a month later it came back with a vengeance and the same shit show ensued at the local er then I was sent to Vanderbilt again and spent another 18 days in Vanderbilt I am currently typing  in my local ER waiting for tests to come back which I already know the answer to

I've already been through 2 UTIs where I would have given anything bullet in the head

I'm not going through that again and If its happened 3 times already numbers 4 5 6 7 8 are guaranteed either I'll find a doctor willing to make a couple simple cuts and rid me of fear and agony for the rest of my life or I'll do it with bayonet in my car outside the ER which would still hurt less than 3 more weeks of this shit the worst they can do is throw me in looney bin for 72 hours before I can leave without their consent and they can sew me up the hard way I'd as it stands I'd be perfectly willing to sell my gun collection which would be at least 30k I highly doubt just cutting my balls off could cost me 30k

My apologies, because as a male who has had UTIs, sorry to those males who haven’t, but ya’ll can’t understand the pain. I also have chronic epididymitis, And when it flares up, fucking hell can it hurt, so you have my utmost sympathy.

The thing about the ER is all they treat is what you show up there for. Show up with an infection, they give you antibiotics. Bottom line is young men do not get UTIs unless they’re doing something kinky or there’s a physical problem. First UTI I got, I got it from doing something kinky; I didn’t bother following up because I knew what had happened and wasn’t planning on doing it again anytime soon. I also got pressured to admit it could be an STI, but I knew it wasn’t because I was, like you, a virgin at the time. I really didn’t appreciate them not just accepting it when I said that wasn’t a possibility. It was embarrassing enough, and then adding that to it .... well, you understand.

A couple years passed, and I got another, and I hadn’t done anything to cause it. I ended up seeing a urologist. They did a urine dip, and they didn’t just do a culture. They put it under microscope and and went looking for anything that didn’t belong. They found some cells that don’t show up in urine unless something is wrong, and cancer was one of the possible reasons. Scared the hell outta me while I waited for additional testing. Turned out to be nothing that drastic, but had it been, knowing that now instead of simply treating the infection and not having the additional tests could very well have saved my life. As it turned out, finding out the cause and getting some physical therapy and a prescription for a while improved my quality of life because I had been ignoring overactive bladder and some retention issues that led to leaking sometimes. My quality of life is better.

I have nothing to say on your desire to change your body, because that’s you’re choice and not what you reached out about. I just hope you see a urologist to figure out why this keeps happening, because it be something very easily fixed. The pain you’re experiencing could be a symptom of something that would not be solved by removing your testicles, and given what a drawn out process that is, you could very well fix whatever is causing this problem while you go through the process of surgery. That could save you a lot of pain and potentially from something worse in the mean time.

And not every doctor is a jerk. Hard to believe because many are, but if you’re straight forward and treat it like a business transaction, it does cut through the bullshit and often get you better care, in my experience. I’m not remembering the name of it, but maybe someone here remembers this website where there’s a list of transgender friendly doctors and other professionals. There’s also a list of kink-friendly ones, and it’s not just doctors. It’s lawyers, accountants, etc. I’ve found it to be a good resource.

Anyway, I hope you get to feeling better. We’re all humans, and one human to another, I hope things turn out the way you want and that in the meantime you’re healthy and happy and pain free.

A bit late to the party here but I thought I'd mention that no surgeon would operate on you to prevent infections unless they knew the cause and source. Surgery obviously increases the risk for serious infections, and if the source was not in your testes then the problem could still reoccur and/or infect the healing surgical site.

If you were really, really, really into this for kink reasons you could look into website/info for people with castration fetishes (they'd have way more info on surgeons that would do this than trans people would, because the system for trans surgery is highly structured and definitely not open to non-trans people) and bank sperm. However, it doesn't sound like you want to do this for any reason other than to avoid the three infections you have had, and there are medically so many better solutions than going through the long, difficult, painful, and disruptive process of surgery. I'd definitely see a urologist because if your doctor was diagnosing this definitively as UTIs and not referring you to a urologist, kidney specialist, etc after you got to the point of literally suggesting cutting off your balls then I'd have serious questions about his competence.
