Elfy
Well, this time of the year, to me feels like a bit of a holiday for everyone of any denomination. Most people are in higher spirits and there's lots of stuff going on. Link to comment
maly
Well i don't celebrate Christmas, As a Buddhist i say may all beings be well may all being be happy, any and all times of the year. Whatever it is that you celebrate may all blessings be yours. Maly. Link to comment
id0ntknow
DD has brought up a fairly good point. Where is the true meaning of any holiday? They have all switched to being so commercialized that the true spirit of any holiday and what it actually stands for, has gone down with green. Have you not noticed come Halloween, Nov. 1, all those candies are half price and the Christmas stock is being put on the shelves. WAIT!! There is one holiday you are forgetting to celebrate. Bettypooh
Glad to see that someone else noticed the Solstice too But you didn't notice that my post was one minute before it's exact time; I was just a bit early hitting "post" Link to comment
id0ntknow
Thanks for the compliment Dirty. Something else I hate about all of the holidays being raped by commercialism is the thousands of stupid puns and gimmicks used by everything from car dealers to electronics stores in their ads just to make it seem like they actually care about whatever holiday their sale of the day is about. Stuff like this is why I'm glad I don't have TV service right now. Memorial Day and Veterans Day especially should only qualify for active or former military service members and their families, and should require a little bit of proof from said service members to avoid being abused by the general public. Guest
People are not mad about "Happy Holidays." They are mad that they live in a society where you cannot be sure which holiday people celebrate, necessitating the phrase in the first place. In other words, they are mad that non-Christians exist in our society and have the gall to speak up when something bothers them. Link to comment

id0ntknow
I agree on all parts. Link to comment
Baby Brian
First and foremost, Thank You for your service. Secondly, I thought I would be upset since most if not all of the TV shows I like to watch are on while I'm at work, but I figure I can just get them on DVD or finally get Netflix or Hulu. Elfy
We don't have a TV here... We pay a TV license to watch BBC iPlayer... and I'm subscribed to the WWE Network... otherwise we don't pay for anything TV related. Link to comment
Shy-Diapers
For me, happy holidays is appropriate, but personally I say happy winter. I do that just because I know not everyone celebrates holidays around this time. I have christain, Jewish, orthodox christain, friends who celebrate kwanza, and even some who are Jehovah's witnesses. I know the last group I mentioned don't celebrate holidays at all. It makes them smile to see people making eveyone included in this time of year. Link to comment

Shy-Diapers
I take offense to that. Winter is a horrible time of the year. Everything is cold, dead, or both. I much prefer the "hollidays" or "christmas" to get me over the winter blues. Well, it depends where you are. My birth town was Oceanside, so it was nice and warm. I say happy winter, because of friends who either don't have a holiday around this time of year, or to friends who don't celebrate holidays at all. Link to comment

Kodachi96
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, or Happy Holidays. What ever you say to me doesn't matter, the most important thing is that you though me important enough to say it. 2 Link to comment

DiaperPony
Happy Holidays is so PC it drives me crazy. Just say Merry Christmas and be done with it. And, this is coming from an atheist. Link to comment
Bettypooh
PC? There's never been anything correct regarding politics and there never will be so the term itself is too screwy to have any validity (and that goes for whoever coined the term too ). Link to comment
