Baby Brian
I bought my fist pack of depends in the early 90's at a fairly local food store. I did have the excuse ready but never needed it. The hardest part was working odd jobs to collect enough money to buy them since I didn't have an allowance. Sadly I only got to use 1 or 2 diapers out of the whole pack as my mom came across my hiding spot and threw them out. Boy, I was mad. All that hard work for diapers I bought myself, and they just got tossed. 1 Link to comment
Daddy R
Well, I can kinda remember my first was when I was around 18 yrs old. I believe it was at a pharmacy & they were the good attends by P & G which is the style I liked for yrs. But my interest stemmed many yrs B4 that but you asked about first purchase. 1 Link to comment
willnotwill
When I was in high school, the best you could fine were these BARD SANIPANTS and similar things which were a plastic panty with a center absorbant liner (either disposable or cloth). 1 Link to comment
choctawboi
My first time getting diapers was right after I got my license when I turned 16. I volunteered at the goodwill in my little town and I had a good rapport with the owners/managers. I remember lying and asking if I could take a pack or two of tranquility slimlines they had to my elderly neighbor who used them. I remember being all nervous inside, but that kind of broke my fears. After that I moved on to buying goodnites later at night from the self check out at walmart Link to comment
Kins_lover
I did not buy my first diapers they where given to me by my urologist and they where Attends which i continued wearing until they where cheaper out, The first diapers i actually purchased where cloth about 16 years ago and many of them are still in use although they are well used at this point and there design is a little weird, but who cares they work thats all that counts! sbbaby
My first time buying diapers occurred during middle school. I was given an allowance and ended up saving up for some diapers once I found out that the market down the street Pampers Baby-Dry size 6. I didn't think those would fit me because they are baby diapers, but ended up biting the bullet and getting some. It took me quite a bit of time to get the courage and think of a flawless plan so I wouldn't run into my mom. I had excuse ready, but didn't have to use it since many people actually mind their own business. I've only had to use my excuse once and it actually backfired in me, but that's a story for another day. Eventually, I got the diapers and wore one that very day! I was surprise they were a fairly good fit and was pretty happy. Wasn't scared of getting caught in these diapers because they didn't have that obvious bulge adult diapers had, so I wore very often and around family. Link to comment
PinkGecko
I bought my first pack at 20. Everybody keeps putting so much emphasis on having an "excuse", but honestly, what motivated me to buy my first pack in a store as opposed to online was having briefly worked in retail at the time. I worked as a cashier at a Target for a while, and when you're checking out a few hundred people a day, you really don't pay attention to what they're buying. In fact, it wasn't unusual to see several packs of adult diapers go every week, bought by a variety of people...obviously *I* secretly paid attention to them, feeling a bit of excitement whenever I'd ring them, but if I wasn't a DL, I'd have given them no more thought than the tons of tampons, pads, toilet paper, condoms, etc. I checked out every single day. So when it came time to do a little shopping, I bit the bullet and bought a pack with a bunch of other things (at a Target where I didn't work, of course). My heart was admittedly racing when I put them on the belt and the clerk rang them up and bagged them, but just as I expected, she had literally no reaction: she was just scanning one item after another, doing her job. We still had pleasant small talk and my transaction finished as normal. Completely painless. After that, I've had absolutely no problem buying some in stores...no one's ever made a comment or given me a weird look. I only buy them when I'm doing regular amounts of shopping, though. I don't think I'd be courageous enough to buy only diapers. Link to comment

Internet
I never even thought to look at Job Lot for diapers. My first time buying was uneventful. I walked into a. Supermarket, picked up Goodnites, walked to the self-checkout, rang them up and left. Link to comment
WakkoWannaBe
My first time was uneventful, more or less, save my own nervousness. I mean, Gecko makes a perfect and true point. 1 Link to comment

Gsmax
My first time was at age 17. It was at a local Vons, and I was scared. I just picked them up and power walked to the self check out to avoid any confrontation with a cashier, so I didn't have an excuse at hand. From there, I just purchased them, went home and used them. DonsbabyKS
It is good that its always been easy for many, but others have found it more difficult or had experiences since their first time, like Wakko...this should be a good place to post. Link to comment
Baby Brian
I was replying to the user cubs. His post seemed like some random mumbling that made absolutely no sense. I was just trying to be nice about it though, but apparently I was being too tactful to make my point clear as well. Link to comment
WakkoWannaBe
well, that time above was probably my 3rd time buying diapers in public. I wouldn't say that I had a hard time with buying those diapers up above. I mean, I had troubel buying diapers for the first time, but after the first time I was over it. Link to comment

huntercd76
The first time I was nervous, and just waited until 30 minutes before the store closed to buy them. Now I just buy them online. Link to comment
