I'm married, and yes, I think role playing on the part of my wife would be cheating. Call me old fashioned I guess. And, I'd never dream of rp with anyone else. In fact, I told her I'd never even chat in real time on diaper sites--for me, that's cheating her out of my time.

RP is like the "Holodeck" on Star Trek- it's not real but you can make it that way in your mind if you want to. As long as the spouse knows what's going on and doesn't have a problem with that, I see no problems with it. When it replaces too much reality, then yes- it can be a problem.

I think it's not good as your being selfish. I'd think you should spend the time with your SO instead. Of course, everyone needs a little time away from each other. Could that be a "hobby" then?
