Tena Brand

Recommended Posts

No actually in Philadelphia the majority of brands are Depends and store brand stuff. There are some Tena protecetive underwear availabe but no diapers and heck we haven't had Attends in a reatil store for (guessing) fifteen years or more. I'm actually looking forward to the next traffice jam just so I can stop in and check it out.

Thanks,

In Philly, I'm guessing you won't have to wait long. :P Every time I go there I just dread driving anywhere.

Let us know what you find when you go in that store!

Last Saturday after reading the reviews of tena slip on this brilliant website, i had the biggest compulsion of going to every chemist in my town, looking at the incontinence range and then not finding any evidence of tena slips on the shelves, went straight up to the counter and spoke to lots of female assistants asking for them. A few people i spoke to took a few attempts to answer my question, often by either repeating the question "Do you sell tena slip". Lots of them did not have a clue what i was talking about even though they sold tena discreets, tena pads.

I think i went to about 8 chemists, each one could not find any evidence. So without going home empty handed, in the end had to buy the rubbish adult nappies from Boots called Staydry. Not very good, over priced. But to do what i had planned i had to buy some. Not cheap at £6.99 for 8.

I have looked on various medical web sites, but been confused over the various shapes and sizes, so to nip it in the bud, went face to face with the female assistants and asked straight out. Often by lying saying they were for my mum. A few chemists did apologise and offered to order some in, so perhaps will go back in a few weeks and buy them as they were probably specially ordered.

Has anyone else had this compulsion.

PS Has anyone heard of omorashi - the wikipedia definition - translates as "to wet oneself in a diaper." Usually, however, the standard fare in the omutsu variation is essentially the same as the standard omorashi, except that the participants are wearing a diaper instead of panties. This fetish group amounts to the Japanese equivalent of the diaper lover community.

I was looking in here to see about information on the Tena slips. I bought a case a couple of months back, and they'd changed to a stay dry cover in the middle, and were thinner too. The pulp filling is much more loose too, coming apart more easily. So, I'm not really happy with the tena slips any more.... I'm going to try another brand. Feel free to grumble or disagree.

Yes, I've heard of omorashi. Dictionary definition (sorry wikipedia) is "peeing". You might find omutsu, oshime and oshikko on the same sort of sites. The difference between omutsu and oshime is disposable vs cloth... I think the omutsu is disposable, but I keep seeing omutsu referring to the big cute cloth nappies they wear. And apparently, you can't get tena slips in Japan - publicly anyway. They're available for nursing homes and such like. I remember reading also about a Japanese diaper "fashion show" where different brands of diapers were modelled for the older generation. I'm sure I spotted one middle aged woman wearing diapers when I was in Japan...

I dont know about the rest of you, but I like to know when I am wet as well as feeling wet as this used to be a part of being a DL! :groupwave:

How say you ???

I actually wish more diapers would wick the moisture away and leave you feeling dry afterward, that's what they're supposed to do after all.

The thing that baffles me about this is that complaints like this are at the expense of people who genuinely need to wear them.

What is so baffling....this is an ABDL site, not a site for incontinent people, not to say they aren't welcome, jus that this is a site for those who like to wear diapers for whatever reason....some like the feel, some the look etc. Nothing terribly baffling about that.

Has the tena super or ultra been changed over the years? I know a store that has very old ones. The packages are so huge. Has tena changed the super or ultra brief over the years?

Eh, AB/DL or not. You're basically wishing for something that is going to make other people's lives harder. I find that baffling, call me a moralist if you will.<_<

By the way, something you'll hear pretty often around here is that this is a 'support site'.(not my own words)

This is a support site, thats why there is a forum for incotinenant people only to discuss medical issues.

I believe you have this tread mixed up with the "Incontinence Forum" this is just a general discussion about diapers. I'm not getting into a discussion of why I love diapers, I am just asking a simple question. 'Which of the Tena diapers are thicker?'

Super > Ultra

Super is more absorbant (thicker) than the Ultra.

Not sure about the classic, but I would guess that it is the thinnest.

The super is green colored and is a thick disposable.

I wear the Ultra under jeans every day and no one in my office has noticed in over 5 years! (oblivous or non-confrontive I don't know)

I wear the Ultras every day under jeans. Usually wear cloth at night because the disposables don't work for me laying down with wood.

I just received a case of Tena Ultra briefs from HDIS. The box had a sticker that indicated new hook tabs.

I am disappointed, because the Tena Ultras fit my needs perfectly (cloth like outer with tape tabs). My initial impressions are the new hook tabs (and outer cover change to the "more cloth-like" material) is not as good.

They are a little harder to change myself as the cloth-like material does not hold its shape very well.

I will provide a usage report after a few trials, but for the time being, looks like I will be shopping for a new brand.

when i first bought tena's i bought the 40 pack and i was led to believe they had the plastic backings, but they were all cloth! They have the wetness indicator and are quite comfy too.. I also notice that the tabs are quite easy to fall off.. They aren't a good overnight diaper, but can hold maybe 3 normal wettings... but they are comfy! I wet it as soon as i got up (a good wetting) and a bit after breakfast and it started to leak a bit. but overall a good diaper. plus i bought 40 for only 35.00 canadian

The Tena super plus serinity nightmare!

Ok.. I got these - they are pullups and the first thing i noticed was how squish soft the package felt. I get them home and open them.. put on my first pair and they feel wonderfully soft and breathable - especially compared to depends which was driving me crazy and cost more. Now at first this was oh so nice untill after a little wear the first pair ripped in the back.. seemed worn through. The second pair leaked right through on me and left me standing in a store with pee dribbling down my leg under my skirt. Definitely must have gotten the wrong Tena diapers - although I do know I am hard on them because I am quite a bit larger than most people and more active - I feel like they were made for the little old lady not the active adult. I'm actually inco so I cant controle when the pee happens - it just happens - anywhere and anytime.

note to the person above - being inco doesnt mean you are not DL or in my case AB - it just means that you do have to wear them. Not saying that all inco people here are DLAB by any means - just that you dont have to be able to controle it to actually LIKE.

I've worn Tena Classic Plus' since early this year, so I've been through about 10 cases of them, including a case and a half of the Supers (green). They're great for everyday wear, and sufficiently absorbent, though I find myself doubling up on them because I'm a heavy wetter. I save the supers for occasions when I'm going out to the bar or casino and can't change at a moment's notice. I will say after a pitcher and a half of beer, nearly ANY disposable will have reached its limits. I do stand behind Tena, though.

Don't buy anything with the "serenity" name on it. They tend to be really light weight. If you're looking for something with more breathing room try the Tena Day Plus or Tena Night/Super pads. I was skeptical that they could hold a flooding but they do really well. Use the Tena mesh pants to hold them on. In the diaper department the Tena Supers or the Tena Ultras are really great (the Super for heavy wetting, the Ultras still for heavy wetting but when you need something a little more discrete... both can handle multiple floods).

Tena's are by far the best diaper out there comparing cost, absorbancy, containement, etc. I pretty much only wear the Supers now because when they changed to the hook and loop tab, I think they made them thinner. Either way, they are still real good. However, I just found out about First Quality Products and they have some good ones. Additionally, I am really super interested in the new molicare active air, the abena air plus, and one other manufacturers "air" diaper. I am always looking for a cool (temp) diaper and the cloth backed ones seem to be that. Oh, I am incontinent, so my opinions are based on that. Has anyone tried these new "air" diapers from either brand?

I'm traveling to Israel on business and I'd like to know where to get Tena Slip Maxi Large in Israel so I don't have to carry a lot of supplies with me. I'll be in Jerusalem. Can anyone recommend stores or contacts?
