Well...I don't know any Rush songs...and I'm not going to cheat and look up the lyrics...so I am gonna pass on this one.

You and me both again drynot!

And I'm glad you resisted the temptation to cheat :angel_not:

I really hope someone guesses it soon and gives us another song, I could do with a bit of harmony right now.

how can you see into my eyes like open doors

leading you down into my core

were ive become so numb

without a soul my spirit is sleeping somewhere cold

until you find it there and lead it back home

Lets see, This should be simple enough:

Where would you rather be?

Anywhere

Anywhere but here

When will the time be right?

Anytime

Anytime but now

ok kanji, sorry to make you wait a week but this is the first time I've looked at this topic... the Rush song is "Double Agent" from Counterparts... A fine Rush album indeed, but I'm more a fan of their 70's stuff.

Ok, here's my contrib:

So far away from the garden we love

She is what moves in the soul of a dove.

Soon I shall see just how black was my night

When we're alone in her city of light...

Hint: 1973 Guiness Book of Records "World's Loudest Band" :whistling:

my woman from tokyo

she makes me see

my woman from tokyo

she's so good to me

good song by the deepest of purple.

speaking of loud bands (thats your hint)

Where the virgins lie

And the prayer of devils fill the midnight sky

And you my love, won't you take my hand

We'll go back in time to that mystic land

Where the dew drops cry and the cats meow

I will take you there

I will show you how

Try this one:

"I still remember late December

when you'd do your little dance for me

You move me through the rain

I'd run for cover and you'd just laugh

Throw your hair back and take my breath

I'm missing you

I'm missing, I'm missing you again

And I, Ionly want to be anything you need tonight

Waste your time with me"

Hint: This was one of only two hits from this band's 2000 album. They disbanded in 2001.

Good Luck!

Mary had a little lamb

it's fleece was white as snow

and everywhere that mary went

the lamb was sure to go.

:P

Paul McCartney & Wings released a version of this in 1972.

Nu-Metal band KoRn included part of this rhyme in their song Chutes and Ladders

And since others here refuse to play by the rules ;) yes I did cheat and the above was presented to you by Wikipedia.

Now it's my turn:

You're the kind of person

You meet at certain dismal dull affairs.

Center of a crowd, talking much too loud

Running up and down the stairs.

Well, it seems to me that you have seen too much in too few years.

And though you've tried you just can't hide

Your eyes are edged with tears

Well stop.

Look around.

Here it comes.

Here it comes.

Here it comes.

Here it comes.

Here comes your nineteenth nervous breakdown.

Rolling Stones. "Nineteenth Nervous Breakdown"

I have no clue on diamondback's, though. Sorry on that one.

Here's another to ponder while we work on diamondback's.

"In the courtroom of honor, the judge pounded his gavel

To show that all's equal and that the courts are on the level

And that the strings in the books ain't pulled and persuaded

And that even the nobles get properly handled

Once that the cops have chased after and caught 'em

And that the ladder of law has no top and no bottom,

Stared at the person who killed for no reason

Who just happened to be feelin' that way without warnin'."

You are correct, it is "The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll" I left out the best lines, because they would probably be the most commonly known:

"Oh, but you who philosophize disgrace and criticize all fears,

Bury the rag deep in your face

For now's the time for your tears."
