Technically yes they can communicate at light speed, until you factor in all the stuff at either end which can't process at light speed . They are working on it, quantum computing and using lasers instead of electricity inside the processors is only a few years away.

Actually what the young guy says is pretty spot on on why older people don't see eye to eye with younger people. The only controversial bit really is the "primitive world" part.

I was using a computer in the 70's. Old people are amazing. Just look at the cars of yesteryear. There were no computers and they designed and built cars, manufacturing plants, all structures and a nuclear bomb with a slide rule!

These old people fought a war. Just watch the Normandy footage. These brave men walked directly in to machine gun fire! The youth of today could never follow in the footsteps of their forfathers. Look at our stupid idiotic President. Do you think FDR would bring enemy combatents to America? Do you think FDR would have stood up in front of the UN while bashing America? Do you think FDR would have bowed to foreign monarchs?

I challange anyone under 30 to survive without a computer. Think about this. The younger generation gets computer and cyber dependent. When the government wants to control you they can just shut down the internet!

As for climate change, it is a hoax. The IPCC scientist got caught cooking the climate change science for a desired outcome. "Climate change" is nothing more than a plan for foreign countries to extort money from America. The evidence is more than a smoking gun. It is more like a mushroom cloud!

As for healthcare, we have the best now. If you think healthcare is expenive now, just wait until it is free!

What about the Victorians?! They where doing that before you! And I'm pretty sure they used some heavy computing power when coming up with the nuke, as you said they did have computers back then.

America is loosing its greatness. I ran my 1956 Ford pickup truck for 230,000 miles. The worst time for cars was the 1970's. The 70's cars that Detroit produced were pure shit.

As for the empty factories, this problem was created by labor unions making excessive demands on employers. The free market should decide wages. There is this mentality that jobs belong to employees. As an employee, you work for the employer period. Detroit auto workers are paid about $75 per hour. The non-union labor pay is $25 per hour. There are plenty of people that would love to build cars for $25 per hour. Detroit can't compete with the inflated wages. If I was going to open a manufacturing business, I would not look in a union state. I may not look for a location in America at all. Union demands, taxes and excessive OSHA regulations are a pain in the ass.

As for the nuke, look how long it to Iran to get it with computers!

In no way do I mean to belittle the US military but lets look at the record. World War 2 soldiers did not wear body armor. They could not call home from the trenches. They did not have the electronic warfare accessories that they have now. The tanks had no air conditioning. I would dare to say that it took balls to be a soldier during World War 2!

As for memory, I remember gas being 22 cents per gallon. I remember 4 cent Coke at the drug store soda fountain. An ice cream cone was 5 cents. Ya damn right I remember.

What this generation is doing is creating unsustainable debt! You are screwing the lives up for children that have not been born yet!

Don't discredit my generation or my parent's generation. America gave the world a standard of living that most people take for granted. It was America and the free market that distributed electricity first. It was an American that created air contitioning. It was America that invented farm machinery and kept the world from starvation. It was America that created pesticide thus eliminating malaria. It was America that gave us the automobile. There are scores of other items too many to mention here. America's greatness is the result of a free market and capitalism. Now America is traveling down the dark road of socialism.

Same reason Ethanol fuel is a joke, it pollutes less but burns twice as fast thus causing same pollution while the demands for crop growth destroy both land and food supply. I agree with those statements between generations. The last generation paved the way for what we are attempting to refine in my generation, however, without the advancements of the 1980's with computers, cell phones, ect., our generation would not have it as easy as we do.

That is not to say that our generation has not made great steps towards meeting and exceeding what the last generation did. With the advancement of computers, and the advancement of technology as a whole, this generation has shown the promise of giving our generation the same things that our parents gave us. We have not reached that point as of yet, however I feel that we will reach that point at some time.

As for the political side, my generation is confused: First off, we want someone who is willing to give the rights and protections to those who do not have it (gay/lesbian/TS, ect.) My generation also wants a stop to the war in the Middle East, and we also want financial stability (AKA, leave the recession.) At the same time, we want a leader who is going to limit spending, cut budgets in the office, and give a perceive hope. What I am trying to say is that on one hand, a president cannot do too much, but on the other hand, a president cannot do nothing.

This political climate resembles the 1960 political landscape in several different areas. An unpopular war, recession, and gay/lesbian rights groups are driving us back to the 1960's. In fact, there are communes forming in Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Michigan. Not to mention the fashion of the 60's has come back around.

I'm trying to destroy winter, so they won't have to suffer through it... But those damned eco-nuts keep getting in the way and messing things up...

Also: look at the stupid cars they have people driving... If y'wanna get people to really care about hybrids or fully electric cars, then build an effing hybrid or electric muscle car with something like a '70 Cuda body (now there's a beautiful car), instead of the ugly turd-bodies they're using, now... You'll have people busting down the dealership doors to get their hands on those puppies... And not just the eco-nuts... Rednecks and gearheads, too (both of which outnumber the eco-nut population). The same goes for trucks... You want me to drive a more efficient truck, then build me respectable and reliable 4x4 hybrid or electric truck that's got enough power to get me where I'm going with a bed full of rock and a trailer loaded down with 2" pipe and will last at least 20 years (my old Chevy's over 20 years old and still going without major problems) and won't cost an arm and a leg... After all, for some of us, a vehicle is a 20+ year investment...
