  1. I think the principle of the device is sound though - and pretty much the same idea as the beads idea that's running at the moment. So the question is, what is the right size for the balls? I've been cathing regularly for a couple of years now and can comfortably take an 18Fr. Any views anyone? I guess there's going to be variation from person to person in any case ... Oh, and I may have found a company willing to make this - at least they claim to be able to do custom work based on ideas and sketches. But I don't want to approach them until I'm sure about the sizing. This company makes a variety of steel sex-toys and several of their penis plugs have diameters of over 10mm - so *someone* must be able to use them - although I confess I find the prospect somewhat eye-watering!
  2. I've been in touch with him on another site; he gave me the dimensions of the stent - the whole length is 95 mm, the inner ball is 12 mm and the outer is 13mm, 70 mm between balls. There's a bend towards one end to help to keep the whole device in place. The balls sound very big to me - I can't quite imagine how you would get the thing in - I wonder if they have to be that big? Although clearly you don't want things to move around once the stent is in place. Although it's meant to be permanent I wonder if you can't get it out again if a thread was still attached perhaps with the help of a magnet or something? Then there's the challenge of getting one made - Austmo didn't think he would be able to source any more as he had his custom-made ...
  3. The use of a few colours still survives here in the UK if you go out on the gay fetish scene - though not necessarily via handkerchiefs but by the colour of a top, a side stripe on a t-shirt or pair of chaps or on a jock or armband etc. Pretty much everyone knows what they mean - but you really only see blue, yellow, red and occasionally brown. All the variations you see on lists are pretty pointless in this context - in a dark club how on earth are you going to tell the difference duck-egg blue and teal??
  4. I saw a belt buckle which was made up of two crossed diaper pins (just had a look on ebay - you can still get them) - I was tempted to buy one and see if that got any knowing looks, but I never got round to it ... still tempted ;-)
  5. I've always preferred plastic-backed nappies from an 'aesthetic' point of view (feel, look etc.) and that's what I usually buy. However, I've been away from home for a couple of extended periods this year and have only been able to buy cloth-backed nappies and so have used them for a couple of sustained periods - two to three weeks. In terms of practicality both seem to have pros and cons. Pros for cloth-backed nappies - don't chafe the legs, seem to be as good as plastic in not leaking/weeping, tapes hold just as well, more comfortable in warm weather, quieter Cons - the cover seems to stretch a bit more as the nappy gets wet, so there's a greater tendency to sag and bulk up (not so good if you want to be discrete but snug plastic pants, a onesie or compression shorts help), the smell from a wet nappy is a bit stronger Pros for plastic backed nappies - don't expand so much so 'keep their shape' better, smell less, so don't need an extra cover Cons - more likely to chafe, can get uncomfortable in hot weather, noisier At night I've found them about the same - occasional leaks (I mainly sleep on my side). I think, for men, overnight leaks are mainly to do with 'positioning' (!) When I get home I'll stick to plastic-backed - but I may well keep some cloth-backed around as it's good to know that in hot weather you can wear something a bit more comfortable without problems, or if you need to sooth chafed skin for a bit (I wear 24/7 for incontinence, so having a break isn't an option ...)
  6. It depends what you want to get out of the diaper, so to speak. I wear both: M3s are great if you want something a bit thinner and more discrete to wear during the day but which still hold a good amount (as long as you don't flood them in one go). M4s are the way to go if you want thickness and more absorbency and capacity. I've never worn bambinos so can't use them as a comparison but I tend to use M3s during the day if out and about and M4s if I know I'm going to be at home at all, or at night when I'm away (at home I usually wear cloth and plastic pants. Whichever ones you choose, enjoy!
  7. Go for it - I love cathing and just letting things flow. My record is 13 days and I've never had any problems - keep things clean and if it becomes painful take it out - but the body adapts so the more often you do it the easier it becomes :-)
  8. I'd repeat what's been said about being clean and careful but it's certainly the case that being cathed and diapered is a great experience. My record is nine days straight. I've been cathing regularly now for about nine months and have had no problems yet - and the complete lack of control is just amazing. If you're feeling adventurous, take a very sharp knife and make a cut in the catheter about 2 inches long starting about 2 inches below the balloon (be careful which side you cut, so you don't cut the smaller tube which carries the water to the balloon). Insert the cath as normal but stopper the end (you can buy special cath plugs) and then the pee will pass through your urethra as if you're peeing normally but you won't be able to control it :-)
  9. Or you could just wear more regularly and have a bit more enjoyment :-)
  10. Try www.dl-boy.com or www.diaper-bois.com ...
  11. I've been using caths for about 4 months now and haven't had any real problems. The longest I've gone continuously is 6 days and it was great - to experience absolute lack of control was amazing (as opposed to sporadic on-off control). As Steve says, do it properly, i.e. keep things clean, use a good lube, and don't rush. Get a latex cath unless you are allergic as 100% silicon are (as I discovered) much more painful to insert as they're not soft or flexible like latex is. I use a 14fr and it's very easy to insert (and gets easier) and now I don't even notice when it's there, I just enjoy the feeling of my nappy getting wet at totally unpredictable times. Another good thing, with disposables, is that because the flow is a very gentle dribble, you get much better absorbency and use - abriforms are especially good for this. For anything longer than a few minutes you need to get a foley cath, i.e. one with a balloon to hold it in place; otherwise the cath is naturally pushed out of the bladder by the body and ceases to work ...
  12. I second the Abena suggestion - and Dorset Nursing - I have several such onesies. You could also try www.airoliver.de/save (a ABDL paradise!) - go to 'Incontinence Reusable' and then 'Air Oliver PVC Slips Bodys Diapers' and then to Page 7. The translations can be a bit odd/missing but it's an excellent source for a huge number of things, not just onesies!
  13. I wear cloth at night and disposables during the day - I find the variety is good. And like DD, I find cloth very comfortable - and less likely to leak at night too :-)
  14. I have a Suzuki GSX650f - solid and reliable but good fun to drive. I'm in the UK but it's taken me to Italy and back ...
  15. Try www.dorset-nursing.co.uk - they stock abena and tena and are reasonably priced and very reliable ...
  16. Or one might reasonably expect people to notice the subforum in which this is posted - if it's Rainbow Diapers odds-on it's going to be gay-related ... As to the question itself ... yes, possibly. I certainly get more sexual pleasure from diapers than anything else although it's not exclusive. I don't think I'd find it difficult to become an exclusive diapersexual though :-)
  17. As a gay guy I'm really only interested in having my nappy changed by another man; the only circumstances in which I can conceive of being changed by a woman would be if I was in hospital ... hopefully that won't happen as I'm happily healthy! Wetandmessy - you might find you like being changed by a guy - it might even be arousing ... if it is, just go with the flow - your subconscious may be telling you something ... On the other side, I hope you've warned the guy who's volunteering to change you that you might start dribbling pee or more mid-change ...
  18. He was interviewed by The Guardian and, whether you agree with his views or not, he was far more articulate than most voters over 18! http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2010/may/09/alfie-mckenzie-14-year-old-voter
  19. Yes, many times, mainly for suprima plastic pants (the best brand by far IMHO). Invariably excellent service. The only slight drawback is that the website is mainly in German and, whilst there are English translations for some pages, they're not comprehensive, and the English is not always completely clear. As I'm in England, I can't comment on trans-atlantic shipping charges though ...
  20. Try dl-boy - much better - just put up a photo which is 'non-committal' until you feel comfortable ...
  21. Basically, yes - there seem to be more people online at any given time. Also I'm used to the interface, which has just been improved; rupadded is a bit fussy. Diaper-bois is a nice simple interface but you have to pay for certain things - not much, it has to be said. Aby was arguably the busiest and best site but it went down last July and, despite a promise to return within weeks, it's still off-line so that looks like a no-hoper.
  22. They do, but they don't have to be face pics - you could just pose a diaper shot which, hopefully, wouldn't be too invasive. And, although I don't know how it works technically and if it's effective or not, they have a option in which you can specify that your pictures cannot be downloaded (or downloaded only with your permission, or completely free to download). There's also diaper-bois.com and rupadded.com although personally I prefer dl-boy ...
  23. You can achieve an awful lot by careful 'preparation' ... Firstly, if you're going to have a messy nappy, put a wet wipe in the seat of it (where the shit hits the fan, so to speak); then, when you change, you can get rid of most of the mess simply by lifting it out and dropping it in the toilet. Secondly, fold your nappy up carefully; I was shown this method by someone I met years ago - Put the nappy in front of you at right angles to you. Fold the front flaps into the centre so they're on top of each other. Fold the front third of the nappy over on to the middle third. Fold this middle third over on to the back third. Fold one of the back flaps onto the bulk of the nappy and tape down. Starting from the bulk of the nappy (still at right angles to you), roll it using the last remaining flap as an outer cover and the last two tapes to stick it all together. You should have something like a sausage at this point and, although it certainly doesn't keep all smells in, it's amazing how much less escapes ...
  24. To be honest, I have no idea - I'd guess it was pretty much the same as I don't see any obvious reason for lesbians or gay men to be more inclined towards diapers than people who are straight. Conceivably gay men might be more open about it - gay 'culture' tends to be more accepting and upfront about fetishes and varied sexual practices. I suspect that the apparent lack of gay participation here is linked to the fact that there are several gay DL sites around (DL-boy, rupadded, the presently defunct by perhaps-to-return aby etc.) and just as with other groups 'birds of a feather flock together' ...
  25. Just FYI, psyllium husks are available in Holland & Barrett (English healthfood stores for non-Brits) in capsule form - just take with water. At present £9.99 for 200 capsules, but you can get another bottle for half price ... recommended dose is up to six per day ...
