  1. I feel completely alone. I know being abdl isn't prevalent but there has to be someone? Present thyself!
  2. For everyone using catheters, I found this fact sheet. Might be helpful to know how to minimize the risks to avoid UTIs.http://percuvision.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/CAUTI-fact-sheet.pdf
  3. I used to have the same problems as you, painfully spasming every 2h. It ruins the whole experience. For some reason the spasms has stopped for me so I'm thinking it's due to the following : 1. I started filling the balloon with less fluid. I only have around 5-6 ml now. This reduces the irritation on trigone of the bladder where most of the sensory nerves are. 2. "Frequent" usage also helps by fibrosis and scar tissue (less sensitive to stimuli). Do not damage your bladder by doing stupid things as I did though. I freaking thought I could run with a tube in my dong, only to end up with a pink diaper! Oh the horror... 3. Anticholinergics - try to get some prescriptions. Tell the doc you have frequent bladder spasms (without telling about the cath) 4. Clench your sphincter when you're spasming. It used to help me a little. 5. Lie down, or sit in a relaxed position (again, to move balloon from trigone) I use Ch 18. I don't think the sizd influence the spasming. If anything my personal opinion is that smaller is better. Next purchase for me is going to be ch 16. Good luck!
  4. Just found some interesting research about overactive bladder. Thought I could share it.
  5. Thanks for all replies guys, and sorry for not responding quickly. I just wanna update that I have restrained myself from using catheters for a few weeks now and plan on being without them for some time. I've also tried doing kegel exercises and trying to delay me going to the toilet. The last part is incredibly difficult. I get noticeably exhausted to the point where my breathing gets quicker and I get warmer, as if I was doing real exercise, which is kinda crazy. Also it also carries the risk of me peeing myself as it almost happend once. I had to pee in my sink cause I felt the pee coming.
  6. Hey, creative idea! Just wanna point out that bacteria mostly travel extraluminally (66% if I don't remember it wrong). There's a study about this.
  7. I have a few questions for all cath loving people!
  8. Having a stent seems extremely intriguing, but I have no clue how to make one/have the time to make one. Is there no way you can buy a stent from someone if you give them the correct lengths and everything? Or would that break any rules? I'm not really good with crafting, i'm more of a theoretical person if that makes any sense. So creating a stent myself seems like a big obstacle. One thing that makes me freak out about this idea is the possibility of the stent migrating into the bladder. It feels like most people who play around with stents are at risk to
  9. Hey all wannabe incontinents! I decided to make a new topic about this rather than posting in the "close to incontinence with a catheter" thread since my question would've gotten lost in the void and remained unanswered by the majority.
  10. I tried the holey foley a few days ago. But it didn't work for me. I had to consciously pee in order for the flow to start (so basically peeing manually but with a tube inside of you). I think I might have put the hole too high up so that the external urethral sphincter muscle was closing off the hole (unless I relaxed it). But I didn't feel the pee flowing outside the catheter the few times it happened.
  11. Sorry to hear, although i'm glad you got it sorted out.
  12. I have a question for all you men out there with a tube in your dongs : how do you place the catheter when going to sleep? If I place it down in the diaper then my littleman will migrate up eventually anyway and the pee will flow everywhere. Also how do you place it normally when up and about? I like to have mine pointing slightly
  13. You're saying the burning has gone down a lot, which makes me think that you don't have a UTI. You might have had an infection in the urethra, but even that I highly doubt as you would've rather described it as an itching sensation. I think you just caused some minor tearings in the surrounding tissue. If you get a fever, you should check it up. For the sterilization: don't forget to use antibacterial soap on your meatus to prevent introducing bacteria in the insertion phase. Also be sure to wash your hands carefully, especially your fingertips. Use alcohol your hands after washing them. Sorry if i'm saying stuff you already know, I just want to make sure you follow all steps. If it's silicone it's safe to boil it. Have it in boiling water for 30 minutes (no need to use alcohol on it afterwards). Be sure your lubricant is sterile (one time use).
  14. Hey guys, I have some problems catherizing, I thought you might help It's become more frequent that I meet resistance while passing my sphincter. Urine flows out but I can't push the catheter all the way to the fork (I don't want to accidently inflate the balloon the in urethra). First time this happened I tried pushing anyway despite the resistance and I felt a sudden pain from the bladder (like as if I had poked it). Today it happened again and I tried pushing it in several times by withdrawing it slightly and pushing in again. Nothing seemed to work. I even pulled it out entirely and inserted it again. Same problem.
  15. So i've been wearing for close to two weeks now. And currently experiencing strong feelings of wanting to quit. Mostly because of expense and
  16. Okay update: I never went back to the doctor. The reason for this is that I wanted to give it at least 3 days. The doctor probably would have just said the same, to wait 3 days. I did have a high fever of 38,5 degrees celsius first day of antibiotic, second day I had around or slightly below
  17. It's probably not your bulbospongiosus muscle. It only squirts out a few drips. Also probably not related to erection problems. Erection is mostly straightening of an artery.
