  1. I used that line with my wife recently. Dinner was 5 stents, and 5 days in ICU later. Oh well, all good now.
  2. A little fun song on the topic of getting stoned.
  3. In the cardiac world, a catheter is a balloon device that is used to expand / open the artery. A stent is a metal / mesh coil that is inserted to keep the artery open. I speak from experience, as I had six stents installed a couple of weeks ago. :-)
  4. Not me, but I have a brother that has lost weight and stayed healthy with this philosophy https://www.forksoverknives.com/
  5. getting a Hop Along Cassidy watch for Xmas. Disney was the only color program on TV.
  6. Buddy Brown has a song titled Screw The HOA, and a video - The Story of how Buddy DEFEATED the H.O.A!! Forewarned, he is political and right leaning; but entertaining.
  7. Growing up, blue collar in the country, I often wondered / day dreamed where, or how, my life would be when the new century started. Never could I have imagined being some 1000 miles from where I grew up, alone in a data center, powering down the servers and then bringing them back up.
  8. I have 2 thrift stores locally, and being a retiree destination, the Fit Right and other cheaper brands appear regularly. I have scored Molicare and a Little for Big sampler.
  9. @Crinklekatz - back in the day when I worked in healthcare, the electronic medical database was huge. We had three mirrors. A script quiets the mirroring, then breaks off the active mirror and attaches the inactive mirror and starts the sync to match them up. Meanwhile the recently detached mirror array is backed up to tape. While not foolproof, it allowed for disaster recovery via tape - and limited data loss live. I do not miss those days, retirement is great.
  10. That is a complicated question, at least for me. I will be 71 next month. Today I ran a 5K under 44 min; not a great time - but, I finished and I have not done much in the way of preparation. My brain seems to think I'm in my 40's. My body feels older with the aches and pains - but I can't really put a number on it. Getting up from the floor can be tough, but I can spend 8 hours on my feet at my job with no problems. With regard to this site, I'm a DL (its mostly a way of coping with stress dating back to a traumatic event when I was young) not really into AB other than an occasional fantasy. So, enough rambling. How old I feel really depends on when you ask me.
  11. lol just when you think Umbrella Academy can't get stranger - it does.
  12. Our go to home pizza lately is a Pillsbury thin crust with chopped fresh basil, julienne sun dried tomatoes, feta cheese and some olive oil. Not traditional, but very tasty.
  13. Dexter picks up several years later in the new series. I don't have showtime, waiting till later to watch it. Goliath with Billie Bob Thorton is another series I enjoyed and has a new season on Prime.
  14. This probably is part of the problem - https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10021705/Massive-backlog-62-container-ships-LA-port-Americans-buying-strength.html
  15. I've read that one of the reasons for the shortages is Covid restrictions. Many ships are sitting offshore at various ports around the world, waiting for quarantine periods to expire before they can unload. Depending on the previous port of call, ships may have to wait at least 2 weeks before offloading; and that assumes no crew members are sick during that time.
  16. I've read that container ships are sitting off port, stacked up, due to covid testing requirements of the receiving ports. If they have docked anywhere in the last 14 days, the crew is "quarantined" before they can dock and unload.
  17. Here in AZ its the Sonoran Dog -- The Sonoran hot dog is a style of hot dog that originated in Hermosillo, the capital of the Mexican state of Sonora, in the late 1980s.[1][2] It is popular in Tucson,[3][4][5][6] Phoenix,[7] and elsewhere in southern Arizona.[8] It consists of a hot dog that is wrapped in bacon and grilled, served on a bolillo-style hot dog bun, and topped with pinto beans, onions, tomatoes, and a variety of additional condiments, often including mayonnaise, mustard, and jalapeño salsa.[9][10] The Sonoran hot dog is prepared and sold by vendors called "dogueros" at street carts.[1] It was estimated in 2009 that over 200 places in Tucson purvey the Sonoran hot dog, and that Phoenix has even more.[1]
  18. Sadies Salsa, or their Green Chili sauce are not too watery. Also, don't put too much on, much like putting on regular pizza sauce. I don't want to put a link here to their site, you can order Sadies on line. Its New Mexico style, meaning they use Hatch chilies; different than TexMex stuff that uses jalapenos. Mexican food is like Italian food, many versions depending on locale. In New Mexico, the catch phrase in a Mexican restaurant is "red, green, or christmas". Do you want red chili, green chili, or both. Also, in New Mexico enchiladas are typically stacked like pancakes, with a fried egg on top. And, sopapillas usually come with the meal - they are great with a little honey to cool your mouth off between bites.
  19. Yup, Sadies salsa, and Hatch chopped green chilies for the sauce, then sauteed green peppers and onions, and some cooked chicken breast. 15 min in the oven, depending on the crust you are using - then top with shredded cheddar cheese. back in the oven for another 5 min - till the cheese melts. Chicken Fajita Pizza.
