  1. Just recently they announced uncurable chlamydia it is completely resistant to all known agents and once Contracted you never get rid of it , wrap that rascal or take up auto racing ! "Beer goggles " can cost life as you know it. Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk
  2. The Catheter manufacturer Coloplast has a worldwide app that shows were all known bathrooms are what capacity they have , how clean they are , and also allows people to update there favorite bathrooms and there condition, we should come up with a non obvious code to denote one of us was there and it's a good place to change, but it's pretty cool with most people having a GPS capable phone and this app you can find a decent place pretty easy anywhere in the world just by opening the app. Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk
  3. Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Illinois are the states that you can still get an ATN, and even though they still at the moment cover them, the manufacturer and I had to search for about two weeks to find someone that sold them , that was willing to do the paperwork for reimbursement so many insurance carriers reply with basicly " bite me", that tens of thousands of distributors will not even waste the time of there employees to roll the dice to get a yes instead of "bite me" . Rusty Pins makes a valid point so much so that it's borderline an observation of fact rather than a horrible thought. Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk
  4. Make sure to drink alot of coffee or tea and soda pop as well as have a beer or some sort of alcohol containing beverage everyday because each of these are bladder irritants which cause more urination and caffeine itself is a mild diuretic ( just like prescription diuretics they cause you to store less fluid and eliminate it by urination) drink Gatorade as its what I like to call creatively flavored Pedialyte) mostly a sugar and salt electrolyte solution which will keep vital elements needed for life in balance instead of being overly excreted in urine, for the same reason use the salt substitute ( in stores right next to salt on the shelf ) using this is a good way to help keep your potassium levels normal or eat alot of spinach avocados banana and potatoes) . You can also go on a regimen of cathterizing your bladder multiple times a day which eill shrink it , never hold your urine and do the pee pee dance because this strengthens and enlarges your bladder, you want to pee as often as you can so the bladder gets accustomed to holding less and starts shrinking . Protect your bed and wear a diaper to sleep, at least once a day lay down in bed and relax for awhile and urinate , this sets up and reinforces to your body and brain that this is a safe place to go potty not just the porcelain throne you have worshipped drink at least 3 litres of fluid per day ( on hot days when sweating try drinking more and as you get in to this further increase from there ( you will get water toxicity if you dont gradually increase the amount of fluid you intake over time ) .and as previously mentioned don't wear anything but a diaper EVER , thid is a self reinforcing thing .maintain a usable supply of diapers , whatever you think you will need for a day add three to that. and be like a normal Incontinent person we always have a minimum of a 2 month supply in reserve to cover us for any sick days late shipping bad case of tapes etc etc. Make this all part of your life now because it will be later if you are successfull . If I think of any others I'll post you. Good luck and let us know how you're doing or ask any questions you have , the only dumb question is the one you don't ask . 5. My Doctor admits that I am better at cathing than anyone in his office because I have been doing it 5 Xs a day for the last eight years, so when I could not get one in it took 5 urology nurses to get it in using a coude foley and left it in place for 2 weeks until the morning he was going to scope me , camera went in like butter everything was fine , he even said my prostate was the smallest it ever been , so It was written off as a freak of nature, no problems since , so a catheter occasionally not wanting to go in happens to everyone, just remember the rules a clean field, lots of lube or lidocaine jelly can be used if pain is a major issue, always have a some urine in the bladder makes it easier and the biggest thing that makes it easy is always do it while laying down if you are male, our urethra has a nasty set of s curves while seated , so lay down and straighten them out for much easier cathing , also as you insert hold your breath until you start to feel resistance on the catheter , exhale well using steady pressure ( don't ram it or shove it just steady constant forward motion as you exhale this is where it goes thru the bladder sphincter into the bladder, if it's a foley continue advancing until you run out of catheter or hit the back wall of the bladder , then fill the Ballon and using light pressure give it a tug until it is seated in the bladder and dangling from your penis then use either an adhesive catheter lock attached to your thigh or abdomen or use the elastic leg band with the locking closure these keep motion and tension isolated from the part of the catheter that remains in you and keeps you from accidently pulling a catheter with inflated Ballon out causing serious damage to your bladder and urethra . If you think that bacterial or urine encrustation is blocking you , remove and switch tho a 3 lumen catheter thblockp you have an open Port to try and flush the catheter back open by dislodging the block, many people who have long term caths like foley and supra pubic ( supra pubic catheters are pretty much the same as a foley except they put it in through a hole made in the abdominal and bladder walls so as to bypass a majority of the urinary system and genitalia) do an antibiotic instalation every other day to keep the microbes away , usually they use vetrocyin solution that can be obtained from amazon or a vets office it is identical to the human formulation but costs a he'll of a lot less, generally it is instilled and the catheter is occluded for about fifteen minutes be for reopening the catheter ports and allowing it to drain . Words of wisdom acquired from many many years of cathing before going to 5 times a day I cathedral 4 times a day for the previous 12 years , I don't empty all the way during Incontinent episodes so my Bladder constantly has urine in "reserve" and maintains a harmful back pressure in my kidneys , I have gotten the residual volume from to about 1000 to 400, my doctor wants that down to 20 to 50 before he will consider it success, that way even my Bladder hits 50 it will release a much smaller volume so I will then have multiple frequent small episodes instead of the constant dripping punctuated by floods and will not have the unhealthy back pressure to my kidneys , I have several other health problems that involve the kidneys as well as bowels , so anything we can do in my Bladder and bowel plans to help them stay healthy we will do, like three years ago after my Cardiac arrest and coma he freaked and called me into the office to offer me a semi permanent foley so that I had less care work to do well I recovered, I politely refused because many people take it easy during recovery and lose motivation and I can't lose motivation because the nearest family member who can come smack me in the head and get me going again is fourteen hours away, therefor I don't cut myself any slack ( drives my Doctors crazy, that I won't give an inch unless I am half dead and it's out of my control, like my time in ICU well taking my epic nap ( coma) ) doing my best to stay on this side of the grass, there will be plenty of time to rest when I lose the battle. 6. Will is absolutely correct even if you only had functional incontinence they would provide with a prescription! Just beware there are no covered diapers that come remotely close to ABDL diapers, there are like three states that will still pay for the Cadillac of medical diapers Tranquility ATN'S, most states the best you will get is something like a Wings or Depend so depending on your level of IC you very well could be changing diapers 9 or 10 times a day.the concept of spending a little more on a decent diaper so the patient only has to change like three times a day makes zero sense to an insurance company and this is a big problem with the physicaly disabled some of us are literally killing ourselves through an ongoing repeated diaper changing regimen , if I did not have an aide to do it when I am not up to it I would be kinda screwed. 7. The Miralax method I described above is what most people use for colonoscopy prep except it used to have a different name but same stuff called PEG 3350 ( POLYETHYLENE GLYCOL 3350) is an ion that is poorly absorbed by the body therefor most of it is dumped into the feces and colon instead of being processed by the kidneys and sent to the bladder for elimination ( you would pee like one of those sculpted water fountains if it was) when it went OTC they changed from mixing it with just tap water to Gatorade to help prevent the dehydration it can cause which messes with the amount of sodium and other things that's in your body ( Gatorade is basicly the creatively flavored adult version of Pedialyte an electrolyte solution mostly composed of salt and sugar ) there are variations of the prep ( some require a liquid diet the day before the prep, on the day of the prep you will take a 5,10, or 20 MG dose of of oral Dulcolax and 6 hours later drink the prep and then at least three hours before the procedure on the second day you insert a 5 or 10 MG Dulcolax suppository if that does not clean you out all the way you are in need of a nuclear bomb suppository , my G/F attempted a colonoscopy prep but because she is strictly limited due to her lack of mobility she was admitted to the hospital, so they were sure it was done perfectly and someone was around to clean her up and change her each time she went because she can not get in and out of bed on her own , the doctor started the procedure and get stuck a 1/4 of the way in because she is one of the few people who do not empty completely so he had to stop the procedure and it was decided she is so medically fragile that she could not do back to back 2 day preps to empty completely so the Doctor says if she has polyps or cancerous growths it won't be known till she is dead because it's impossible to visualize 75% of her colon. She is also intolerant of magnesium supplementation, magnesium is also over the counter and if taken in quantity will cause "diarrhea" but it is actually facetious diarrhea because there is not a n abundance of water , more like enough to cause frequent large soft stools, when you study anatomy and physiology you learn very quickly that the "normal" function of the body is a wildly awesome balancing act of so many things that it has been theorized that if a modern super computer was tasked to do all the processes of the human body at he same time and rate as a "normal average" human the computer would freeze with a wait cursor and the main CPU would at best melt at worst catch on fire , taking that into consideration and comparing that to the primitive computers of the 60's ( your digital watch and microwave oven have more computing power than the entire space program through Armstrong landing on the moon had) it is truly an amazing feat that we left and came back safely, unfortunately computing had changed so much that it would take an incredible team of coders to create the systems neccasary to do it again , that is why the mission to Mars may not happen in any of our lifetimes with the kind of outcome we had with the moon , the only thing we can bank on is when the mission does happen they will be carrying a huge payload of diapers with them ( even if they call them maximum absorbency garments to not make some of our most intelligent people feel bad because they are back in diapers, I say the entire crew should be ABDL'S who can not only handle it but enjoy it, ever seen the bags they drink out of very similar to a soft side fragile bottle, and if you look at the habit of chewing gum or toothpicks, pens or coffee stirrers a pacifier would be a huge upgrade) Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk
  8. I have tried the better dry kinda liked them but they just didn't give me the fit that I wanted, and yes I have tried several boosters in the Northshore and what I found was usually the booster was ready to explode very quickly and kinda caused a pooling in the diaper at the the edge . Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk
  9. Well Northshore is my travel diaper, and as I sit in s wheelchair all the time , I have the opposite , I have to point up for better dispersal and the front gets very very wet , my wheelchair does "tricks" tilt recline and elevate which we use to shift weight off our butts and onto our backs and such and my Northshore take a real wetting in the front until I can transfer , so in the situp and squish tests it more than passes, I switched from Abena's to Northshore because the Northshore stands up better when getting the front seriously wet before it has the chance to disperse into the crotch and rear padding, if one can love something they pee in and then throw away , I love this Diaper! On trips to the Doctor I am in the same diaper for 12 hours before getting home and changing, the only time I get to change is when I have a UA and then I figure I might as well change since I have the opportunity, I did get stuck down there during a blizzard a couple of years ago , ran out of diapers , wet the hotel bed like it was a swimming pool when I got a bag a depend real fit to try and help , I had 6 of them on for the ride home and very thing got soaked even with 6 . I mailed them back to depend with a note to shove them up the CEO ass and then shove him up the design teams assessment, those things are not fit to be sold, I was less than thrilled with there performance but did manage not to be charged with shipping hazardous waste thru the mail, lucky thing because depend would have had a lunatic out for blood when I got out of jail otherwise. Real fit= Real farce . Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk
  10. My thoughts are with you my friend the "Medical Mystery tour" really sucks , they sell you life without quality at a very high premium, that you would sell your soul to provide and then end up needing a life guard to save you from drowning in debt when the bills come do. Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk
  11. That's one of the benefits of a wheelchair , I could have more ass than a donkey farm and people probably wouldn't notice, I could rock any of those and not catch a single comment . Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk
  12. If you want the equivalent of Turbolax and colon blow it's Miralax available OTC now , it used to be prescribed as Golytely and other names buy two 32 Oz bottles of Gatorade add half a bottle of Miralax, mix, drink a glass full every ten minutes, then drink the other bottle of Gatorade within about fifteen minutes you will need a diaper factory OT a good case of your favorites because you will start going with diarrhea and finish with passing clear water, you will feel tired , empty ( because you will be ) and cold ,most people get cold when they empty out completely, don't expect to need to go again for 3-5 days as food needs time to turn to waste and refill the system. Also for those the mentioned the natural way most spinal cord injury patients are taught Digital Rectal Stimulation ( brings new meaning to the Dr's are in ) inserting a single gloved non lubricated finger into the rectum and moving it around slowly touching the rectal lining will cause after a time the fecal contents you desend into the rectum for elimination as mentioned by another poster this is the same effect Dulcolax suppositories have , irritating the lining to cause elimination , other suppositories like Glycerin cause elimination in a different way , these cause water to be drawn out of body tissue into the colon and rectum thus making it easier to pass stool because the water increase cause peristaltic contractions ( muscle contractions you normaly have) to advance the stool faster for elimination, all laxatives fall into one of 7 classes and their mechanism of action is predictable and caused by a certain effect the medication has on the body, there used your be technicly an 8th class which was the original Exlax but that was outlawed ( to many people made brownies) because it causes cancer according to researchers , of the 7 classes I personally believe that the stimulant class should be changed because though castor oil is a laxative/ purgative it does so by a completely unique method of action , much like tapioca pudding comes from the plant that Native Americans obtained curae for there spear and arrow tips, castor oil is derived from the plant that the extremely fatal poison Riccin comes from, castor oils action Is caused by a breakdown of it in the body to Rhicinoleic acid, and to calm everyone's fears the poison is extracted before the process that gives us castor oil, many of our parents grew up taking a spoonful of either Castor or cod liver oil every morning in a misguided effort to keep the system running regularly , in fact regular and normal varies from multiple times a day to several times a week , castor oil was just forcing the body to go urgently every day, and that stuff tastes nasty every time I see it I think Castrol Motor oil ( I would throw a rod also if given that regularly). 13. That one diaper still had room the wetness indicator was blue they usually disappear completely when it needs changing, you might want to retest that brand and see how much more it could hold. Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk
  14. With a prescription from your Doctor your employer is required by law to give you a bathroom break , even an extended "break" when you need to change , this is called accommodation of a disability , and in some places and stays you employer will be offered tax incentives for hiring an otherwise qualified employee with a disability. 15. We have both a school for nursing and a medical school here and they ae all taught to Fer to anything diaper as Attend or Attend' s my last trip the the health jail I cracked up the Nurses because every time they said attend/s I said I don't wear them they are cheap diapers , and the made hem laugh because patients a lot older and younger than me did not use or wear diapers ( insert your favorite euphemism here) and they just loved how down to earth I was about needing and wearing diapers and completely rejecting all euphemisms, many patients can be half dead but will protest if you come anywhere near a diaper or the need for them? And I would freely admit I needed and used them , not many patients are down to earth or welcoming to nurses when they needed to give care , even at 2 am I would be joking and welcoming instead of acting like they where bothering me , I told them I have needed diapers for 25 years the time for excuses and euphemisms has long ago expired, saying anything other than diaper was like saying I need my water pitcher filled when my IV bag needed changing,, I don't put a wall of bullcrap in front of things , I just put them out there, I'm all for creative writing but don't feel I need to create a new language to get my needs met, eat when hungry, diaper when wet simple. 16. Pria Pism is a painfull erection that lasts longer than 4 hours, this can be induced by viagra or any erectile stimulant as a side effect, to remedy it many times they use the Neuroleptics ( 1st generation anti psychotic) chlorpromazine ( Thorazine) many times if that does not work they will use a large hypodermic syringe to extract the blood that is causing the engoragement ( valves in the base of the penis allow blood to flow in causing the erection and then close trapping the blood inside) all of this is painfull and not something you want , if not having an erection for a prolonged period is desired the simplest way that causes no physical harm is to decrease the male hormones in the blood stream ( commonly called chemical castration and routinely administered in some states to certain sex offenders) is using female contraceptives ( birth control) very effective and we'll tolerated by many men using some form of depot medication injection such as depo Provera or norplant ( things the size of six matchsticks surgicly implanted in the forearm, generally they infuse or release small amounts of concentrated female hormone for an extended period of years into the skin which is then absorbed into the blood ( much like a subcutaneous injection without the daily injection) it does not remove the ability to become erect in most men , direct physical stimulation in an erotic situation can result in a soft erection however it will be only a partial "obscured" erection, rexposure to an effective dosage of erectile stimulant can restore full function( it is for this reason that places like CMS deny insurance payment or reimbursement for all prescriptions of erectile stimulants after it became widely known that sexual offenders were using this method to re-offend against new victims! However I am unsure of there standing and reimbursement protocol for Cialis now that it has a dual indications for erectile dysfunction as well as benign Hyperplasia of the prostate ) interestingly enough all of these stimulants started research for use in Cardiac emergencies and yes they all effect blood flow but in an area not dealing with the heart. 18. In actuality you can probably expect to here a lot more about this, urinary "issues" are possible on some of the anti psychotic none of which you are currently dosed with, further the staff has a legal responsibility for your health and welfare, if you were to be allowed to continue on your claimed desired road to IC these people could lose licensure they may hold and be liable in a court of law , with that said you can expect this hygiene issue to be further stressed in treatment team meetings and amongst the psychiatric practioners , though I do not think the fetish is officialy listed on the mental disorders list any longer, you can count on fall out as well as someone on each shift assigned to your toileting activities and super vision , to,live in the facility you are basicly considered incompetent and or dangerous to your own Need's and they will be required to address this as a mental deficiency in an effort to get you prepared for an attempt to get you moved on to independent living / minimal supervision facility , so for as long as you continue to use diapers ( even though it honestly sounds more like an erotic issue for you) you will not advance or ever be given the opportunity to live minimally supervised in a situation that is much more conducive to your desire for IC . For as long as you pursue this and persist at this in your current level of care and function you will be considered a danger to yourself or others and be kept under a watchful eye , you might also have a restriction in the independent ability to manage some personal funds if you repeatedly use them to acquire diapers . I am acquainted with another gentleman on another board who became an inmate in a locked Hospital unit for just this exact sort of thing except he went so far as to try and convince Doctors to surgically intervene to remove or impair any continence what so ever, having a mental illness is not a crime however demonstrating an inability to control yourself and your fetish activity can be made into one. Procedure at your own peril , you have been warned of the possible consequences of persisting with this behaviour unless and until you attain a less recstictive placement and have some of your rights restored. It also does not bode well for you that you are on a high dosage of a LAI ( Long acting injectable) antipsychotic medication , this means you can not or will not reliably take care of yourself or take medication that the doctor feels is neccasary , LAI'S are much more expensive than an oral routine, you have demonstrated somewhere along the way that they are better for controlling you with a constant unavoidable blood level that can not be refused or not remembered to be reliably invested, you seem to either be so sick that a locked ward doesn't sound so bad to you , or you have a real high level of self sabotage , my advice would be forget the diapers and wear some traditional underwear until you can demonstrate the ability to manage your own affairs and demonstrate a will and desire to comply with treatment including any medication routine otherwise you will be sooner or later labeled a non compliant or non responder to treatment and will have your care escalated to the level of locked ward , no freedom ,no funds to have spending discretion over and increasingly high doses of medication until you either shuffle aimlessly when awake or sleep most of your life away due to the aggressive regimen of increasingly large doses of sedating anti psychotic medication that gets prescribed until you are quiet complacent automaton or become tolerant to the strongest of med's and spend your time restrained in a gerry chair on one to one supervision in a seclusion and isolation room . I am not trying to be a jerk to you, but you should go into this with your eyes open to the potential costs of your actions , high doses of Neuroleptics or atypicals injected with or without your consent are not the end of it , the removal of your right to consent to or refuse anything is where you will likely end up. 19. We daddy do not be fooled when shipping is "free" that's because the money to cover it is already built into the price you pay, no company does mail order and truly ships free , that is an unsustainable business model, yes you can decide hear and there to give product away , discount it in some way or offer it in a contest type situation, but giving something away on a daily basis everyday of the year will end up sooner or later causing that business to fold and cease operation ! And on the other hand a business that builds itself as mail order and not a traditional fee for service walk out with your item, also to me on some level says to me that is a chosen cost of doing business and rightfully should not be passed along to the customer, unless the customer had the ability to buy the product through a tradiational business channel for a lesser price and chose not to, that is why many companies that charge shipping and handling don't get any of my business because they are passing along a cost of doing business that they decided on not you.If you choose to completely limit the availability of your product to the customer it becomes your expense , just look at the "wellness brief" advertising for proof of that they list shipping as an additional savings of $20 dollars off the "unusual" "infrequent sale price" they are always running some kind of sale gimmicks to compel you to buy ,to give the illusion of saving money when in fact they are giving you the product for the "normal" customary price . 20. If you order cloth they will make the first one to your measurements wash and dry repeatedly then wear, once you wear you can say I don't like the placement of the velcro or it needs another inch in rise etc and all of the rest of your order will have they modifications jnyo them, that is your trial diaper. 21. I like them but am perpetually tight on money( Compassionate disability doesn't pay well) , if they completely unsnap they would be great for the active wheelers in the group because changing of your diaper could be done without dis- robbing , maybe you could think of a trade for something one us disabled might have lyeing around . They haven't moved in 2 months which probably means others are like myself and dig them but just don't have the cash. Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk
  22. Medicare only pays for diapers if you are in a facility ( and since they usually use the cheapest they can find and charge about 12 bucks per you will be glad someone else is paying the tab, Medicaid does in fact offer diapers as a covered benefit getting good protection you can count on is a whole other issue Medical supply places make exclusive contracts with two companies even if they carry every other product the company offers they may not carry diapers from that company, Medicaid pays one rate for diapers the cheaper a supply place can offer them the more money goes in there pocket , that is why places will not even special order what you need. I have become a de facto expert on this in order to get decent protection covered I order mine by mail from 6 states away even though I live within 1 1/2 miles from 2 places , one which I have a long term relationship with 2 $30,000 wheelchair my bed , night table ,living room recliners and commode and shower chair is from one of them but I can't get my diapers there unless I am willing to where "wings" or "prevail" no thanks .I will Shop around till I find what I need and accept nothing less .
