  1. Huh? What is this thing you call "Soccer?" Is it a TV show, movie, sport or what? lol Just joking. I don't have "cable" & don't follow many sports other than Detroit Red Wings hockey. I have seen bits & pieces of this years games when out & about & updates here on my computer, but, as I said, am not really into soccer. Side note, current/former Red Wings Darren McCarty, Chris Chelios, "Hatchy," & even the infamous Gordie Howe are friends of mine.
  2. I lost three relatives in the last 3 yrs, two to cancer & one to heart disease. I lost a good young friend to suicide some years ago. (Which I posted about in another thread.) I'm not good at expressing sentiments, so all I can say is I can feel your pain & wish you the best! Take care!
  3. Never had any. As a side note, I got many "bedtime stories" from (everyone's Grandma,) "K's" radio next door to our summer cottage. She was hard of hearing, kept her radio loud, so I got to hear all her nightly "radio serials" while going to sleep. (This was back in the '50's.) One has to know our cottages are nothing more than "hard walled/roofed tents," only separated by a few feet. Her bedroom & radio area was, (still is, under different owners, she's long gone,) not much more than 5-6 feet from my bed.
  4. Not voting for several reasons. I guess I'm not up on internet lingo, what's a "blof?" lol
  5. One does NOT buy USPS P.O. boxes, one only rents them. That is the first issue that raised a flag. The second is why "a run in w/the Law" would lead to getting a box? Third, "most" companies will not ship large goods to P.O. boxes. It appears you got "under the radar" by getting a sample pack. Not questioning your post or box delivery yet, I don't have enough info to do so.
  6. Second that! Out of thousands of friends, (thanks in part to facebook, lol) I have only found one "mate" & she is now passed away. Continue your search, even if it takes "forever" like mine did, hopefully you will find a match.
  7. Same here! The bold red was added by me. Greetings and welcome! Your post is barely understandable. It is full of punctuation, grammatical, spelling, capitalization, sentence structure, & no paragraph errors. As Wetman said above, and (I think,he,) I & others have said repeatedly, please use the tools provided to make an understandable post. Every once in a while we have to remind people that this a "forum message board," NOT a "text message" place where shortcuts, poor spelling, bad English, run on single messages etc, etc are tolerated. This is your reminder. Going back to a thread of a week or two ago; If one want's to talk in "baby talk" or another way, please feel free to do so, but identify/label it as such. The OP of that thread caught a lot of flak for writing that way until s/he explained the "baby talk" a few days later.
  8. Tuesday, 5 July? Cool, just one more item to add to all the great things that happened on my birthday!
  9. This site sucks! It keeps dropping partially written comments! Let's start over. I don't have a paypal account. I started to address an envelope to "'Repaid1, Central Ohio," but realized it would probably never make it to you. Please PM me w/a valid P.O box or home address so I can send you something. Speaking of birthdays, yours appears to be this Tue the 12th. Hope you have/had a great one! Mine was last Tuesday the 5th, & I had one of the best ever!

  11. I usually stay on my covered porch when home on NYEve. Most years I'm out partying, but another year I stayed home the lead was falling like a hailstorm & "pinging" on the paved, (concrete,) alley behind me. Normally they are on the Wednesday night before the holidays, but this year moved it to Monday as the First, (Ca,) & 4th, (US,) were on the weekend. If you thought what you saw in Detroit on the 27th was great, fine. Personally I am pissed that they have three barges with several hours worth of fireworks, yet set everything off within 25-30 minutes to fit TV schedules. I don't like it that they set off more while the previous is still in "full bloom" and/or still fading!
  12. Hope you have/had a great day, Mommy Bear!! Mine was last Tuesday, the 5th. Amazing night!!! I'll let it go at that. Got lots of extra hugs & kisses from the regular girl friends, extra handshakes & hugs from the guys. Can't go into detail, but I got lots of hugs & kisses from girls & guys I've only known by sight. The topper was getting hugs & kisses from girls that I had never met or seen before! T's infamous birthday cookies/cake were a great icebreaker! FYI; this was at s great friend's regular Band Venue.
  13. Is she going to wear during the ceremonies to keep herself dry? Wish you both the best!!
  14. Be yourself and wear when you want! Most people will not notice or care. The only thing you might have to worry about is if you were to get a room mate. Personally, I never lived in dorms while attending college. I was a resident of the area and was able to attend classes a "short hop" from home. Babymarie, wish you the best.
  15. Which direction? As I said above, I am NE of Detroit City Airport, which I will NEVER call it by the new name of "Coleman A.Young International Airport." C.A.Y. ruined the city under his administration! Nor will I call the City/County Building anything else than that. The re-naming to "Coleman A.Young Municipal Center" is just asinine! Sorry for drifting again, so where are you lilricky?
  16. Sounds like you have a very active group and if I was willing to travel there, it would be an honor to join you. Wonder if there's anything like your group in Michigan?
  17. Had to re-read the whole thread to make sure I hadn't posted before. I wear/wore to bed all the time. I have always had problems falling back to sleep after getting up to use the bathroom, no matter if I worked nights or was on a regular "day shift." It was a pain to try to get back to sleep. I solved that problem using one or two Serenity, now Tena (super,) pads on a Pampere 6 base under a Depends pullup. I would wake, use them, and go right back to sleep. I rarely soaked through to the pullups, but I had a complete set of the above ready to jump into & head for work. (Usually, all I had to do was change Pampers & pads. Sometimes, if I was out at meetings in the evening, I had to use my diaper on the way into [my midnight shift,] work then change while at work.) Many of you probably know how it is to sleep to the last minute. Get up, grab a quick bite to eat, no matter what shift, then dress & head off to work. Edit; I noticed this is my 100th post since joining/re-joining. (As I've said before, I've been lurking for years. I was an early member under an "alphabet soup" acronym & password, both long forgotten after many computer upgrades.) I hope I've fulfilled my wish to be a productive member of this forum. It is amazing to be able to talk to like minded friends when for 40+ years, I have had to keep things "secret!"
  18. You're in the UK. I'm old, half US & half Canadian. I've forgotten most of my history lessons. Please remind me what 5 Nov means to you. Thanks. We have our Forth of July here in the states, and on my other half, have Canada Day, July 1st, at my second home. We all have New Year's Eve, but for some reason instead of fireworks, idiots in Detroit like to shoot guns in the air. I have three bullet holes in the windshield of my parked/disabled "classic" car, the drivable one so far has missed the same fate, and one in the windshield of my daily driver, which means I can't drive it until I get a new windshield. : Great shot of the "big" fireworks. How about some video of them in action?
  19. Both links/postings have expired.
  20. On second look, I agree with you. I was originally requesting a link to get the 5 W's. (Who, what, when, where, & why,) to this purported "news" story. Not commenting on the OP's wish to be that boy.
  21. Maybe she wasn't kidding? Take her up on the offer, or, as someone said above, have her try one on in the privacy of your or her home. One never knows what will happen until one asks/makes an offer.
  22. Welcome to both of you! I am relatively new to being a registered user, but have been lurking here almost since the beginning of this site.
