  1. Hehe, you guys make me laugh!! Beth
  2. I'd go back in time to the early 80s when I was at school and leave myself a few packs of decent diapers, just so the teenage me didn't need to keep making them from old towels. Beth
  3. I think you make a valid point, and we did cover a lot of this in previous posts. I admit that the lack of contempory evidence for the life of Jesus is frustrating. There is some, but it doesn't tell us much. To add to the frustrations, I believe (and this is just my own view) that many of the aspects of the life of Jesus seem to have been copied from earlier Gods, especially the cult of Mithras (Mithras was a sun god who's cult was very popular with Roman soldiers). However, we must take into account that the earliest (existing) writings that discuss Jesus in detail are within about 40 years of his lifetime, this is still close enough in time to have recieved the information from eye witnesses. Plus, some parts of those writings seem to have been copied from earlier written sources (that either no longer exist, or just haven't been found). Even if there were no earlier written sources, and they did base their information on oral tradition only, we shouldn't discount the facts on that basis. These people were mostly illiterate, they relied on oral communication. And because they relied on it they were good at it, they had good tecniques for remembering details.......they remembered facts far better than us. We shouldn't make the mistake of imagining these people writing everything down like we do........this only really happened in the last couple of centuries. However, we know from other oral cultures that an oral tradition can exist for many centuries, without once being written down and still be pretty accurate. I think the bottom line is we either accept what evidence there is for the life of Jesus or we don't. I admit the (existing) written evidence is flimsy, and I have no doubt that some of the things attributed to him are confused with other earlier gods. However, I am still left in no doubt that Jesus was a real person, a person that must have inspired all those around him.
  4. I think we have to be a bit careful when talking about the writings of Josephus. For one he appears to have told many tall stories, usually to prove some point or to further his own cause. For instance, he claimed to have been a devout Jew, but then became very very Romanised, including taking a Roman name. The second point is that his writings were written many years (about 40) after the time of Jesus. Josephus wasn't born until 37AD, that's after the crucifixion! Besides many historians dispute the small mention he does make of Jesus........some think it was added to his writings at a much later date. You can't discount Josephus, but I think we have to be careful.
  5. When I saw the words 3.3million, I thought that's how much I'd won for being active LOL. Beth
  6. That reminds me of the soldier that said "When you lay in a fox hole with shells bursting around your head, you pray to your maker..........there are no athiests in a fox hole." Beth
  7. 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' is based on my life story, yes I am actually getting younger and will be in diapers soon. Oh, and Brad Pitt was chosen because he looks just like me!!
  8. You have plenty of time to get married and start your life sentance, go enjoy yourself first. To those of you that have said "You should tell your wife before you get married" I agree 100%, you should never leave it anywhere near ths long, and certainly shouldn't wait until after you are married. However, the reality is that many people have and do (I was with my wife 12 years before I told her). I Agree it shouldn't be like this, but it is for many people.......let's face it, telling your partner is so hard that it's easy to put it off year after year. Walking around in a diaper so your partner notices it? I don't think that's a good way of doing it. Although I agree that she can only accept it or not accept it, the same applies if you just come out and tell her..........so why not tell her? I know we all hate the idea of approaching this with our partner, and I won't bullshit you.......it is hard to do. That's why we try and think up other ways of doing it, writing letters, walking around in diapers, pretending we've started wetting the bed etc. But to me, there is only one way to approach it, and that is to sit down and explain it face to face. Beth
  9. To me punk was dead by about 1979. It died when punk bands became all commercial to get into the singles charts, and when punks themselves all started dressing like Sid Vicious rather than having their own identity. That's why as a teen I started listening to crossover (skate rock) bands instead. All joking aside about metal making you intelligent, I do think that metal/hard rock/rap talk about real life far more than most other forms of music. In addition, going to all those gigs as a teen did give me a form of education. As a fifteen year old having spent the weekend with a group of guys and girls aged 20 - 30, you tend to learn a lot about life. And then when I went back to school on the Monday and started speaking to all the other fifteen year olds.......well, they seemed kind of childish in comparison. I love the fact that my parents always said that listening to "that loud music" will make me go deaf. Yet after 25 years of watching live bands my hearing is well above average. Honestly, I have the best hearing of anyone I know LOL. Beth
  10. Hey, if you don't mind spending the money and Kent isn't too far, go for it......maybe just go for a couple of hours to test the waters. Beth
  11. LOL, are all those dates all human beings.......or are there any chimps among them? All joking aside, I've got an MJ doll somewhere (from the early 80s).......I think it's in my loft with some other toys. Beth
  12. Oh yeah, my face would have to be covered. I have no desire to actually "come out", and besides my colleagues and clients are in that area, so too risky......... and yes, I think there is going to be a webcam on the people too. Rather than what items of baby stuff I actually wear, I'm thinking more along the lines of how to approach it. Do I sit there in silence and let people make up their own mind what it means (just like a piece of art) or do I raise awareness by talking or maybe having printed text to hand out? (if indeed I can). A lot of people will be making extreme political statements/protests, so I shouldn't stand out that much. Beth
  13. It does raise the question that could you make money by fitting out your own nursery and renting it out? I mean with no nanny, just offering the actual nursery for hire. Almost like running an AB bed and breakfast. I wonder how much interest you would get? Beth
  14. Here you go, this is one. I spoke to the owner of this place once, and he said he can hire us the nursery without a nanny. http://www.happy2nappynursery.co.uk/
  15. I enjoy reading (especially history, politics, art) and visiting museums and galleries. I love travel, and long country hikes (walks). I also take flying lessons (when I can afford it, which isn't very often) and I do reenactment. I also collect vintage/retro items for my house. I don't play computer games and hate any type of DIY or anything to do with the gym. Beth
  16. I take it this relates to the discussion about the death sentence? Beth
  17. Last 25 years aside, Jacko is a great. I know he's washed up now, but remember what he was like in the late 70s and early 80s........that was a superstar!! Okay, his performance won't be what it once was, but you could say that about someone like The Rolling Stones or The Who. But you go and see them to tell your grandchildren about it.......the same applies to Jacko!! Beth
  18. They probably played them lots of Whitesnake and Bon Jovi.......that would explain the adverse reaction. I disagree, my education didn't start until I started skipping school to see bands play. I learned more in 5 minutes in the mosh pit than weeks of sociology classes, and I didn't know a thing about sex education until I learned everything you need to know by listening to Bon Scott of AC/DC. A teenager will learn more by reading the lyrics on a Metallica or Anthrax album than reading most lifestyle guides, and once you've seen Kiss perform in full makeup you learn that in life, it's all about making an impression. As for gangster rap, it's good to see a youngster taking an interest in politics. Beth
  19. Ooooo, you in blonde piggy tails and one of those little German dresses........can I play your grandfather who tells you off for not looking after the goats? (Omg, I sense another RP coming on lol. ) Heidi, you and your sordid mind have made a young man feel very old!!
  20. Dear Auntie, My mommy won't let me play violent computer games. She says these are only for boys, and that girls should do things like skipping and playing with dolls. But I can't skip (the rope keeps hitting my pigtails) and dolls suck!! Is mommy just being a big sexist? And should I tell her she is just being a big sexist? Love Beth
  21. I feel that incon is too often seen as something that only happens to elderly people. I think there should be more awareness that it happens to people of any age, including many trendy 20 somethings. I'm not saying it will ever be cool, but it should carry less social stigma. Beth
  22. Good question. I think I'd be willing to do the baby thing (this will probably be tame compared to some people) although I haven't got the guts to do it like a LG. I know this probably sounds a bit spineless on my part, but I think I could wear a sleeper/diaper in public ......but a dress/wig etc? I'm not so sure about that. What do you guys think I should do if chosen? Beth PS) Did anyone else volunteer?
  23. There are a couple of nurseries here in the UK that you can hire with or without a nanny. If anyone (in the UK) is interested in just hiring a nursery (with no nanny), let me know and I will give you the link. Beth
  24. As both a long time head banger/punk and an AB I think I can shed some light on the apparent connection for you. It's well known that Metal shares many similarities with Classical Music. For instance, the pieces are usually long, have many changes of tone and pace, not to mention solos.......a tune within a tune. Listening to Classical Music is known to increase intelligence, so it figures that listening to Metal does the same. Do you need to be intelligent to enjoy diapers? Yes, I see us AB/DLs has having reached a stage of "enlightenment" that sadly many "non enlightened" people will never reach. It is a sad fact that many people will never know the pleasure of a padded bottom. It's also a fact that us Metal Heads have a great imagination. For instance, only we play air guitar, and only we can fully understand the intricate finger movements and chord changes that are required to do a complicated Eddie Van Halen solo on an instrument that doesn't actually exist. This same imagination makes us great at ageplay, and allows us to ponder the idea of wearing a diaper. The connection between computer games and diapers should come as no surprise. Playing a game requires great hand and eye coordination, a skill that is best aquired by years of trying to put a diaper on yourself whilst laying flat on your back in the dark.......all without waking your parents! Beth
  25. I don't think it really matters how many sites there are out there........can there really be too many? Personally, I only belong to this one......it meets my needs, and I don't have time to sit around posting on lots of different sites anyway. However, others may have the time and enjoy belonging to different sites. Variety is the spice of life!! Beth
