  1. If anyone is [still] looking for Attends Slip/Super Plus, I have a few bags I'd be willing to sell...
  2. Gee "sarahjane" ... perhaps you should learn to READ (thank you db70db70) ...because no where did I mention anything about faking [any] medical condition. the point of my reply/post was to point out that if you require diapers while you're at a hospital in Canada, as a Canadian citizen, there isn't any bill... for anything. Not diapers, not surgery. Nothing. Perhaps you should watch the Michael Moore movie, "Sicko"....or maybe just re-read what I wrote. And by the way: like you, I wear diapers because I'm incontinent.
  3. I took a look at their selection(s) -- and I have to be honest: Tranquility diapers suck. The leak like sieve & their fit is too trim around the seat of your bum to offer any real protection. In addition, they're not exactly the quietest diapers around. The new Tena diapers have a cloth-like design; and are very cheaply made, so they suck too. So, if you have to shop there, you're better off buying Attends (IMHO ... though I have been wearing diapers [24x7] my entire life...). It's also been my experience that when the rep can clearly tell that I'm diapered, they tend to give [me] more sincere & focused service (I wear a thick diaper under loose-fitting clothing, so that the crinkle and bulk are impossible to deny). Good luck though, whatever you decide to wear & buy...

  5. As as active person with no [physical] disabilities apart from incontinence, here's a glimpse into my day: I always have to make sure I bring enough [extra] diapers with me wherever I go (e.g. to work, out with friends, on a date, to the beach, etc), so I can change when necessary (I hate it if/when I have a diaper leak in public) -- which means I'm always taking a backpack (full of diapers) with me into the bathroom & hoping that no one (i.e. friends, co-workers) is noticing how I always seem to do that. And of course, having some privacy when I have to change in a public place is not always granted (the only public washroom I ever seem to have privacy in, is the one at work. so imagine needing a change at the beach...). Dressing appropriately is another factor I always have to consider: I'm always asking myself How obvious is the crinkle and bulk of my diaper with what I'm wearing? (and I've yet to wear/use a diaper that isn't crinkly, bulky or both). As well, there's the ever present hassle of having to adjust to the unnecessary changes (usually in absorbency) that manufacturers make to their diapers in the attempt to make a cheaper product (case in point: Tena & Attends both changed the best diapers -- in fact, Attends even took their best diaper -- the "Slip", off the [Canadian] market!!) And let's not forget the time(s) when -- for whatever reason, I have to tell a friend, or the girl I'm seeing/dating, "I wear diapers (day & night) because I'm incontinent" And I'll tell you-- most people don't know really know what "incontinent" means, so youend up elaborating & saying something like "I can't control my pee" ... and that always goes over really well!. That's the best part right there! I have many days when I wish I had the choice not to wear diapers....
  6. Unfortunately, the variety of adult diapers available in Canada is quite limited; and if you don't know where to shop, prices are quite often anything but reasonable. The most readily available diapers are Attends, Depend, Tena & generic store brands. Earlier last year, I found out that Medical Mart (at least on the east coast) carries Kendall's Lille Supreme Fit line (and are very reasonably priced). Moreover, diapers such Molicare, Tranquility and Abena are considered "imported", and are only available from ONE retail supplier -- and are ridiculously expensive (so much so, that only once have I ever purchased Abri-Form, Tranquility & Molicare diapers). Having said that, from my early youth until I discovered Tena (then called "Promise") -- around age18 or 19, my diaper of choice (day and night) was Attends (Waistband style & Extra Absorbency). But upon discovering Tena, I immediately switched (for obvious reasons) to using the Ultra Brief (for day) & the Night/Super (for night). It wasn't until Tena started making their diapers more "cloth-like" (circa 2006), that I started searching for [yet] another new diaper to use (the "cloth-like design was chafing all too often). Around Jan/Feb of 2006, I found out that Attends Slip (a.k.a. Attends 10 Super Plus) was available in Canada (only from Medical Mart), and switched [back] to Attends. This was definitely the most comfortable & reliable diaper I'd used in years (maybe not as absorbent as Tena's Night/Super, but definitely more comfortable). Of course, we all know how unreliable Attends are -- always making "cost-effective" changes to their diapers & thereby diminishing quality. So it was no surprise that in January of this year (2008), they discontinued the Slip (in Canada, at least), and replaced it with the very disappointing Attends "Extended Wear" (which, leaks like a sieve btw ). So, as it now stands, I am currently using Lille Supreme Fit Extra Plus & Maxi for disposables; and will continue to do so until are no longer available in Canada. In addition, I have [also] started buying cloth diapers from Kins (since it seems the possibly to have consistency anymore).
  7. All I can say... is thank God for Canada's medical system/coverage! You don't get a bill for hospital visits -- regardless of what you are/were there for!
  8. I never leave the house without "enough diapers". If I think I'll be away long enough that I'll need to change 4 times, I'll pack 6 diapers (maybe more) -- and, consequently, have never run out of diapers while away from home (i.e. "in public") -- though I have often been in places where changing discreetly is not the easiest feat
  9. If/when the circumstance arises where it is necessary to disclose this to someone, I have learned to just be honest -- since only inconsiderate, ignorant assholes will be unsympathetic and/or tease you. My true friends have told me that they don't think twice about it.
  10. medical mart has better prices than b4ns -- and they DON'T charge for shipping. 800 268 2848 -- and, up until the diapers were changed, they carried Attends Slip (I bought their last two cases)

  12. Agreed. I doubt that most [if not all] ABs & DLs realize that there is vast difference between *having* to wear diapers and liking (i.e. "choosing") to wear diapers. At least those who *choose* to wear diapers can stop at any time; and don't have to plan their life around an affliction.
  13. I may only be 33 - but from my 23 years of wearing diapers, option #2 simply does not work. All of my relationships have ended because of my diapers & wetting problems. I don't consider myself AB or DL - but notwithstanding, I am starting to look for a woman who wears diapers herself, or who at the very least is familiar enough and can accept without problem that diapers are a permanent part of my life (and therefore hers).
  14. It's really a shame that they won't ship to Canada. It's even more of shame that you can't even buy these diapers in Canada.
  15. I am 33, and have been wearing diapers for as long as I can remember (my step father forced me to wear them when I was 7 or 8; and by 10 I was wearing them full-time) - long before I had any idea what a "diaper lover" or "adult baby" was (I was wearing diapers for almost 10 years before becoming aware of and/or learning the difference between the two). I have never wanted or had any [adult]baby-related tendencies or desires. Although I frequently/regularly use small amounts of baby powder, I do so merely as a preventative measure against smelling like urine. I don't consider it an "AB" tendency, as many people who don't wear diapers do wear/use baby powder to smell fresh. I also often wear a onesie - but again, only as a preventative measure against my diaper showing when I would rather prefer it not too. Moreover, I'm not fond (nor is my wife) of the psychological feeling(s) associated with wearing a onesie - but, doing so has gives me much needed reassurance that my diaper will not be unexpectedly exposed when I am at work, or hanging with family & friends who don't [yet] know that I wear diapers (aside from my parents, a few of my close friends & several of my wife's friends know). No one changes my diaper(s) but me - except for those occasions when I was/am too intoxicated to change myself, but hey... who among us hasn't been there?? Because I've been wearing diapers for over 2/3 of my life (23 years so far), I don't consider myself a "diaper lover" so much as I consider myself someone who has found pleasure in doing what really can't and shouldn't be avoided - since the two or three times I chose to go out in public without wearing a diaper resulted in my completely wetting myself. But maybe I'm wrong ... maybe I am a diaper-lover. Those things aside, I have to say that it is very satisfying to see that those of us who are "purists" when it comes to [wearing] diapers, have a much-needed place to congregate & express ourselves. Many thanks to the folks @ Daily Diapers.
