Bladder weakening medication for medical reasons

Recommended Posts

I really hate and embarrassed to ask this IRL atm.
Just medically wondering is there medications to force people to need to urinate or leak as I have both spinal nerve issues and Autism both that causes not to notice the need to go until about 600ml yet the normal adult bladder volume is 350ml I have been told is unhealthy yet when trying timed toileting I cant release anything? As it is I am in diapers full time due to bladder issues as well as have to take laxatives full time due to not feeling the need to go no 2 until every 3ish days even then I strain due to spinal nerve issues as well as pain medications.
I am also needing to learn to psychologically accept all my disabilities and not suppress them as I am a ticking time bomb mentally according to my therapists and I guess this means diaper dependency as I cant just not take all prescribed laxatives as well as isolate myself incase of bowel accidents. Hope this is not offensive just need help as my psychologist has postponed all follow ups due to corona virus

For any medications, you would need to talk to your doctor about that. You could always try natural diuretics like dandelion tea, or a natural bowel stimulant like prune juice. Seeing a dietician might also help. Does your psychologist offer over the phone/ or video-chat services (or ask them if they would due to the cornona virus)?

Hi, I have some of the same issues, I have chronic back pain, and chronic constipation I have found for me doing a soap water enema every night is my only solution, my Drs just don't have answers that I haven't already tried. I do about 2-3 qt, with  baby wash, or baby shampoo the brand does not mater at least for me, the 99 cent walmart baby shampoo works just as good as the name brand ( I use 4-5 pumps of soap, but in the beginning I used only 2 pumps) . I got the 4 qt silicone enema bag from Amazon and I did my own mods from that point, I think for starters the regular kit will be ok. I am picky and I want to see the hose, so I get the clear plastic hose from hardware store. You need to get used to it, and hold the water and the amount of soap as long as you can, 10-20 min, I also have bad hemorrhoids to add to that problem. any more questions please ask, you can also message me. I also use a but plug to stop accidents and some of the Glass ones are a little fun, and take out some of the boredom as I do 2 enemas a night. I never have a need to do # 2 the rest of the day.  I have not found solutions for the not being able to pee, I dribble but when I feel like I really have to pee, I can't go sometimes in diaper or when I am out I will try to make it to the toilet and it feels like my bladder is locked up tight, that sucks, I would also like to find a way to just dribble more than I do, that would save the I can't pee sometimes.

Bowel management can be everything from butt plugs and enemas to inducing diarrhea.

The natural way a baby voids is by reflex during or shortly after eating. This needs the consistancy of poop to be more liquid than solid, and needs a certain amount of training mixed with medication.

Increasing ones intake of fish oil speeds up the digestive system. Adding activated charcoal to the mix traps the bacteria that create the smell and also the complications in ones bowels. A daily 'rinse out' rather than a full enema will help the bowels in emptying. Enemas tend to use soap etc... what is ideal to relieve constipation is to get a douche adaptor for ones shower, and using warm water, insert into ones bowels while on hunkers in the shower. This will remove most of the impacted poop that is the cause of constipation.

Added to this is an increase in the amount of liquid consumed. This will also increase the need / frequency to urinate which will remove blockage along the urethra.

Constipation and/or decreased urinary frequency / volumn is all based on the amount of fluids within the body. Increase fluids (water) and decrease constipation / urinary issues.

A lot of people who were late in toilet training, tend to have a mental block to the amount of fluids they consume. This is usually based on their parents / careers reducing fluids during a toilet training effort to attempt to make it easier for the person to manage bladder/bowel control.

(with respect) where did you get 350ml..? Doing my homework after a severe Prostate-infection left my urinary system rewired, I found normal adult male capacity listed as (approx) 1 liter; normal adult-female capacity listed as approx 600ml. The sources I used seemed to agree these were statistically PROBABLE amounts. One source added that most humans will pee (involuntarily) at ~3/4 of their maximum capacity (a natural defense against rupturing one's bladder).

FWIW too long & off-topic a story why, I kept track of my output with large laundry-product jugs & a cheap digital scale once, for most of 2 years. I found out my personal best was a liter in a single go--not quite daily but often enough I decided it wasn't a big thing. This was after that medical adventure I mentioned, so "holding-it" was not an option. At some point my Playful, Easily-excited Bladder goes off, with little or no warning. Whenever I broke 1 liter, it was with only the average sense of urgency. Hope this has been helpful. Best regards!
