For me, I like the present situation because the use of "nappy" or "diaper" is

I'm Australian.

I do use 'diapers' more. Mostly because it seems to be common parlance in the AB/DL community - largely because we interact with Americans more than we do with Australian parents.

I think it sounds more adult, largely for the same reason - and that fits me, as my regression doesn't have much to do with my chronological age.

Nappy its got to be. This having been said the word diaper comes from an early English word for a specific type of cloth weave, having a diagonally apposed diamond pattern, hence diaper.

why?

a. I'm English, and in England we have nappies

b. it sounds more babyish to me

c. I associate diapers as being adult/medical

I only use diaper when I am talking to americans

Each to their own, I use diaper more often, however I don't mind sometimes using the word "nappy", but more suitable in a infant state of mind or feeling babyish and I am from the UK.
